I have redeployed tomcat web application struts war to jboss 5.1.
It's showing successfully deployed, but when i am accessing my home page of web application it's giving an error i.e.

You need to make sure that jboss uses its own servlet-api.jar and not any other one. If you are packaging the servlet-api.jar in your war file then simply remove it and try.

Not able to compile JSP files in JBoss 5.1 with Java 1.8.
Able to compile regular Java files and even complete Spring project which does not have JSPs.
It is working properly, if we kept compiled class files for those JSP files.
Following is the error I am getting when I am trying to run a JSP file:

In my case, I was in trouble with jboss-5.1.0.GA due an old application made with jsp (old version). I knew that jbossweb is the place where jsp are compiled. So, I compared the structure of jasper-jdt.jar with the ecj-4.3.1.jar and notice that both are very similar. Then, I applied ecj-4.3.1.jar in place (replace) of jasper-jdt.jar renaming ecj-4.3.1.jar to jasper-jdt.jar. After running the replacement was sucessfull.
you have to remove the jasper-jdt.jar from JBoss 5.1. You would find in the following:
jboss-5.1.0.GA\server\default\deploy\jbossweb.sar\jasper-jdt.jar
I had a similar problem using jasperreport library with JBoss 5.1 AS and jdk 1.8 (no problem with jdk 1.7).
I resolved removing the jasper-jdt.jar from JBoss 5.1.
In my project pom I put the dependecy to updated Eclipse Compiler for Java (ECJ) but until I removed the jasper-jdt.jar the problem remains:
<dependency>
<groupId>net.sf.jasperreports</groupId>
<artifactId>jasperreports</artifactId>
<version>6.3.0</version>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>eclipse</groupId>
<artifactId>jdtcore</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.eclipse.jdt.core.compiler</groupId>
<artifactId>ecj</artifactId>
<version>4.5.1</version>
</dependency>
Try to setup JAVA_HOME environment variable pointing to the JDK. JBoss should be able to pick up tools.jar into the classpath and use that instead of JDT for compiling
I have a web project which is working fine when I am deploying that project to individual tomcat but when I am trying to run same project from inside Eclipse and in same tomcat instance it is not working throws the following exception:

This gets thrown in HttpServlet.service(ServletRequest, ServletResponse) when the parameters can't be cast to HttpServletRequest and HttpServletResponse respectively.
That means one of two things:
the parameters are of the wrong type (unlikely) or
some filter is using the wrong copy of those types, loaded with a wrong classloader (for example if you deliver your own copy of servlet-api-x.x.jar with your webapp).
Try removing servlet-api jar from your WAR file.
If you are using Maven, you can just set the scope of the servlet-api to provided.
I have been using Tomcat 6 for all my application development and deployment purposed, but today decided to use JBoss as it seems to be more scalable.
But after configuring JBoss on my eclipse and deploying my application I get the following error,
Getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Filter exception on Jboss
I added the server library in the server classpath and the error disappeared, but still the application fails to load, since spring doesn't initialize.
UPDATE
Now I am getting the following error, the application runs fine in Tomcat 6, this the stack trace I am getting,

<context-param>

Check all of your spring bean configs inside every xml files under classpath:spring/*Context.xml whether you have defined a bean named '/login'.
If the spring bean xml definition files is inside a jar file, make sure the jar is available in your webapp and make sure those jars contain the spring bean definition.

I am using Spring 2.5.6 , Spring web flow 2.0.8 with Tomcat 6.0.20...
Any idea why the WEB_APPLICATION_CONTEXT_ATTRIBUTE field is not available? How do I resolve this error?
You've still got the same problem with your Spring JAR versions as you did in Spring Web flow configuration error
RequestContext.WEB_APPLICATION_CONTEXT_ATTRIBUTE wasn't present in Spring 2.0, only in 2.5.6 and later.
