javax.persistence.EntityManager missing a method - java

I have recently tired to fix the problem with maven dependencies in my java web project and I deleted all things from the repository folder, after that I did "maven update project" in eclipse and the problem was fixed, however other error appeared. The method I was using createNamedQuery(String, Class<T>) no longer exists in the javax.persistence.EntityManager interface. I did some research and I suspect that maven has changed the JPA implementation version to JPA 1.0 which is very annoying and also I don't really know how to fix this. I didn't change anything in pom.xml, the only change that I noticed is that javax.persistence package now comes from ejb3 jar from jboss-as-connector maven artifact. How can I fix this?
SORRY: I just found out that the ejb3-persistence comes from hibernate package.
EDIT:

Spring Hibernate Maven Jar Version

When creating web application, we use maven to get all jars. Here when i'm tried to create a maven web application with spring version 4.3.7 and spring security 4.2.2. I need to use couple of other jars like hibernate, log4j, apache tiles, itext, java mail, apache poi, json-simple and some common jars used in web application like common fileupload etc.
I need to use this web application in JBoss 7.1.1 with datasource support and java version 1.7. I need to use the correct version of jar.

(Expecting answers from experienced professional in production environments.)
if you want to use JBoss 7.1.1 you need to run this project on jdk1.7 and Spring 3.1.2 if you are use above version of jdk and spring, it will occur errors. so. if you want to run latest version of spring and jdk you need to use latest version of Jboss.

download the repositories in maven

I have an application (Spring 4 MVC+Hibernate 4+MySQL+Maven integration example using annotations) , integrating Spring with Hibernate using annotation based configuration. I just added a couple of repositories OSGEO GeoTools repo & Hibernate Spatial repo in order to have access to org.hibernate.spatial.GeometryType type. I clean and install the maven project but the jar is not installed.
hibernate-spatial 5.0.5 is not be compatible with the version of hibernate I am using 4.3.2.
versions available in maven central are the version starting from version

Watch your dependency on hibernate-spatial. You commented it. Here is it:
<!-- dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-spatial</artifactId>
<version>5.0.5.Final</version>
</dependency-->
Just remove a chars after/before <> ;) And use correct version:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-spatial</artifactId>
<version>4.X.X</version>
</dependency>
On their pages you can see this:
Hibernate Spatial version 4.3 is compatible with Hibernate 4.3.x only
Hibernate Spatial version 4.0 is compatible with Hibernate 4.x only

This pom.xml and my other configurations are quite okay with Spring 4.0.6 and Hibernate 4.3.6 ... Can anyone please share his/her experience with these latest version compatibility issues. Or is there anything new way to configure them together that I am missing ?
I was dealing with same problem for a few hours. I have noticed that :
[INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-core:jar:4.0.3.RELEASE:compile
[INFO] | +- aopalliance:aopalliance:jar:1.0:compile
[INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-aop:jar:4.2.2.RELEASE:compile
This shows that lastest spring-security-core version 4.0.3.RELEASE is dependent with Spring Framework 4.2.2.RELEASE.
You have two solution for this:
1) Exclude spring-aop 4.2.2 for spring-security-core and explicitly add your dependency description for spring-aop:jar:4.2.3.RELEASE to your pom file.
2) Change your 4.2.3.RELEASE dependency to 4.2.2.RELEASE and change Hibernate version 5.0.4.Final to 5.0.2.Final
I choose second way and it worked for me.
Looking at the pom.xml of spring-orm-4.2.3.RELEASE, the version of the hibernate that it is using is 5.0.3.Final
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId>
<version>5.0.3.Final</version>
<scope>compile</scope>
<optional>true</optional>
</dependency>
It is an optional dependency, so it will not be resolved as a transitive dependency. You still need to provide the necessary hibernate jars like what you are currently doing. You only need to modify the version to the official version that it is using.
<hibernate-framework.version>5.0.3.Final</hibernate-framework.version>

How can i solve this problem ?
If your scope is provided I would think you would be expecting that dependency to come from a server resource. If that's the way you would deploy this in the end, you could try adding that jar to your server lib.
How can i solve this problem ?
Here's how >>you<< can solve this problem.
Look at the stacktrace to find the FQN for the class that is missing.
Use the findjar service to identify the public JARs that include the class you need.
Do some simple research to figure out an appropriate version. For example, identify and visit the corresponding developer website and see what they recommend as maven dependencies.
Add or modify a dependency in your POM file.
Repeat as required.

spring-hibernate3 with hibernate-core-4.1.2

I want to set open session in view pattern controlled by Spring. I am using Hibernate 4.1.2. Now if I add spring-hibernate3 in pom.xml eventually it add its dependency hibernate-3.2.5.ga. I think I can not have these two hibernates at a time.
If I want to use spring-hibernate3 should I remove the hibernate-core-4.1.2.jar?
This is my pom:

Yes, if you remove the hibernate-core 4.1.2 dependency from your pom.xml file, you'll only have the hibernate3 jar in your classpath.
But since spring-hibernate seems to be pretty old (from the Spring point of view, the latest is 2.0.8 version and lastest Spring Core is 3.1.1)
But I think you can use the open session in view pattern with your current setup, since spring-orm-3.1.1 supports Hibernate4; take a look at http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.1.x/javadoc-api/org/springframework/orm/hibernate4/support/package-summary.html.
