I am having a problem with using apache poi for importing excel file. My application run successfully in UAT environment but in production I got the error:

I think the problem happened at line:

I am using lib: poi-3.17.jar, poi-ooxml-3.17.jar, ooxml-schemas-1.3.jar
I deploy application on IBM Websphere Portal 8.5.5.2 (both UAT and production), using java 1.7. Please see my lib folder

I resolved my problem by chosing another Java runtime environment (chose JRE of IBM Websphere instead of using another JRE) for building the project. Thank you !

Connecting to jndi within websphere error

I'm in a little debacle and was looking at any assistance

The error from OpenJPA appears to be caused by it incorrectly trying to use the dictionary for MS SQLServer to connect to the database you're using. If you're specifying the
<property name="openjpa.jdbc.DBDictionary" value=" org.apache.openjpa.jdbc.sql.SQLServerDictionary "/>
property in your persistence.xml, you need to update that with the correct dictionary for the database and driver you're using, see http://openjpa.apache.org/builds/2.2.1/apache-openjpa/docs/ref_guide_dbsetup_dbsupport.html for details. If you're not specifying the property in your persistence.xml and letting OpenJPA try to auto-detect it, try specifying the property in your persistence.xml and assign it the appropriate value for the database vendor to which you're connecting.

Integration issue on Hibernate, websphere and DB2 database

Issue Overview
I'm facing an StaleConnectionException, whenever i deploy my Web application on the IBM Websphere v7.0.0.17. I'm using the datasource connection provided by Websphere through a JNDI Lookup.

Problem Description
Our Webapplication has developed based on GWT+Spring+Hibernate framework and it running on an IBM Websphere v7 and it interacts with IBM DB2 database. We consumes the datasource object(JNDI Lookup) configured on the Websphere App server.
From the error logs(attached), we understood that the issue occurs during Database Schema Validation against the DB2 database. But, we have cross checked the Hibernate Configuration and Table Structure(schema) has no issues and it is working fine with a tomcat server. This below error appears only on Websphere while deploying the application.
I also followed some suggestion provided on technical forums by reducing the “minimum_connection_size” for the “StaleConnectionException”on the Websphere’s datasource properties, but it doesn’t help me to resolve this error.

NOTE: No issues in Hibernate Configuration and Database Schema, both looks good.

The DB2 error in this case most likely hints at a syntax error in the query. Make sure that the version of the JDBC driver on the application server matches the version of the DB2 server.

Application is not starting in websphere 8.5.5 but works fine in tomcat

I have a web application which can be deployed in tomcat but the same application is not starting in websphere 8.5.5. I have checked SystemErr.log file which gives following information, i cannot debug why application is not starting. If I would like to know more about problem what I need to do.

The error you are receiving says the context /* is already being used by another application. The contexts for your web applications must be unique.
The web.xml you posted has no context-root tag, so it looks like WebSphere is assuming /*. You can do one of the following to correct:
Update your web.xml to include the context-root. You'll probably need to redeploy the application to have this take effect.
Or, Change the context root of your application in WebSphere. This can be done by logging in to the console admin, navigating to Applications > Enterprise Applications > [App Name] > Context Root for Web Modules. The context root can then be specified here.

Finally I can fix the issue.
My application is using google guava library and version of library was 15.0. I found guava library (version:15.0) is not compatible with jee6 (more information). So I changed the version from 15.0 to 14.0.1 then application got deployed correctly.
What I didn't understand is, how can I understand with the following error message what went wrong??? Don't you think it is little difficult to figure it out.

I was getting same error, so what i did was logged into admin console then went to applications, then to Websphere enterprise application (Here you can find list off all the application deployed).
Just Undeploy the default Application (this application is deployed when we install web sphere).
Once undeployed, it will work.

Go to IBM Console->Application->Application Types->Websphere Enterprice Application.
Remove all the application other than YOUR APPLICATION.
Websphere automatically creates some sample application and in that application, some are pointed to "./"
Mine problem solved like this.

I am working with RAD 8.5.5 with Struts framework. Before this, I am working on the same web application in RAD 7.0.
RAD 7.0 is working fine with the button to download the report in excel file. However, when I transfer to RAD 8.5.5, I have hit this error.

This could be caused by a failure to load AWT classes (JRStyledTextParser's static init does GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment()).
Add -Djava.awt.headless=true to the server Java process to confirm or infirm this possible cause.
