Glassfish4 execution errors - java

I have a brand new installation of glassfish4. I added one glassfish server to my list of servers in Eclipse kepler.
I now get the error Unable to start server on time. java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException. In the stack trace, I
see java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind. I googled the first message and tried to fix it by removing
the osgi folder and replacing a glassfish jar as mentioned here - Unable to find or serve resource
That gave me a new error which said something like antivirus or something else is blocking glassfish. I googled the second
message and got one link which did not help - How do I clear an address for Glassfish 4.0 with default settings?
Finally, I decided to reinstall glassfish4 and try all over again. I get the same error messages again. Now, I don't know what to do. Please help me.
Thanks.

HTTP Status 404 - /ssssnpm//promotional.jsp error

Whenever I connect to my broadband internet, it shows this message -
"HTTP Status 404 - /ssssnpm//promotional.jsp"
Apache Tomcat/7.0.57
I searched a lot about this issue but couldn't find it. Everyone is talking about Tomcat or Apache servers. I don't use any IDE. I am not a programmer, so I didn't write any codes. I am just not able to open any web page. Whenever I enter any URL, it redirects me to another URL, which seems to be an IP address. And, that page shows this error message (wrote above).
I suspect that it could be because of an antivirus I installed a couple of days ago on my laptop and my phone as well. But, it's showing the same error to my brother's phone on which this antivirus isn't installed.
other internet connections are working fine on my laptop - like my mobile internet.
Please help in resolving this issue.
The issue is resolved now. It was some server error as it was unable to load a file something "promotional.jsp"
The message Apache Tomcat/7.0.75 was a bit confusing to me. So, posted a question here.
this is not internet connection problem this is background code problem apache could not found specific file which you want to access
thanks

Why clean glass fish admin console doesn't work?

My system is:
Mac os X 10.9 Mavericks
Oracle JDK 7u45 (the latest)
Glassfish 3 and Glassfish 4 is the same
I go to the download page of glass fish and download the zip.
i do init the glassfish domain using: asadmin start-domain domain1
Go to localhost:4848 and the console still loading...
i review the glassfish log in this point, and the last message is:
javax.enterprise.system.core.com.sun.enterprise.v3.admin.adapter|_ThreadID=83;_ThreadName=Thread-2;|The Admin Console application is loaded.|#]
the message appears to be fine.
When i refresh the page (because doesn't refresh itself), it redirects me to http://localhost:4848/common/index.jsf with status 404.
if i review again the glass fish log, the message is:
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet|_ThreadID=84;ThreadName=Thread-2;|PWC6117: File "/Users/juvinao/glassfish4/glassfish/lib/install/applications/_admingui/common/index.jsp" not found|#]
this just happen in my mac, after the mavericks upgrade.
in others computers and OSs, everything go fine.
i was googling for info about this issue, but even here in stack overflow i had found the answer.
Thanks.
the only way that i resolved the issue, is that when the console redirect me to
http://localhost:4848/common/index.jsf
i put the url
http://localhost:4848/login.jsf
but always i have to do this. next i have access to login page and admin console.
i had the same problem, but instead of console, my app was behaving like this.
solution: update "glassfish/glassfish/modules/javax.faces.jar" (2.2.0) with 2.2.4
still don't know why or in which way these things are linked...
Ensure that the file is not missing and you have enough rights to access it or maybe modify.
Disable Automatic Update Checks
Rename $GLASSFISH_INST/glassfish/modules/console-updatecenter-plugin.jar to console-updatecenter-plugin.jar.disabled

Glassfish - Application name is already in use

I’ve come to an hold with my programing because I’m getting an error from glassfish. I’m using NetBeans IDE 7.3 for this project. And I’ve built a simple program which runs over the web(jsp file etc). But I keep on getting the weirdest error display from glassfish. I’ve searched the internet for my solution and found people posting similar things, but I never seem actually manage to fix it because I don’t really understand the post which I’ve read.
So what is the error that I get at startup? First time I run it I get this from the Output
Starting GlassFish Server 3.1.2
GlassFish Server 3.1.2 is running.
In-place deployment at C:\Users\Vedo\Documents\NetBeansProjects\ÄrendeWebApplication\build\web

DEFAULT=C:\Users\Vedo\Documents\NetBeansProjects\ÄrendeWebApplication\build\web&name=ÄrendeWebApplication&contextroot=/_rendeWebApplication&force=true failed on GlassFish Server 3.1.2
Error occurred during deployment: null. Please see server.log for more details.
C:\Users\Vedo\Documents\NetBeansProjects\ÄrendeWebApplication\nbproject\build-impl.xml:1038: The module has not been deployed.
See the server log for details.
The actually name of the project is ÄrendeWebApplication and sure it’s a weird name for some people.
Well anyhow I tried to run the application again just to make sure it’s not something spooky going on, and I got a totally different error message.
In-place deployment at
C:\Users\Vedo\Documents\NetBeansProjects\ÄrendeWebApplication\build\web
Initializing...
deploy?
DEFAULT=C:\Users\Vedo\Documents\NetBeansProjects\ÄrendeWebApplication\build\web&name=Ärende

Error occurred during deployment: Application name ÄrendeWebApplication is already in use.
Please pick a different name.. Please see server.log for more details.

Alright so this is the weirdest part since it’s complaining that the name of my application is already in use? So I thought first it could perhaps be something with the database, but went to see the “Java DB Database Process” and it seemed fine, will post it too just in case
Fri Jun 07 11:01:10 CEST 2013 : Security manager installed using the Basic server security policy.
Fri Jun 07 11:01:11 CEST 2013 : Apache Derby Network Server - 10.8.2.2 - (1181258) started and ready to accept connections on port 1527
So the database is not the problem “I Believe” so I went later to check on the Glassfish server 3.1.2 and I found some warning messages which read
WARNING: Multiple [2] JMX MBeanServer instances exist, we will use the server at index [0] : [com.sun.enterprise.v3.admin.DynamicInterceptor#297b0d9d].
WARNING: JMX MBeanServer in use: [com.sun.enterprise.v3.admin.DynamicInterceptor#297b0d9d] from index [0]
WARNING: JMX MBeanServer in use: [com.sun.jmx.mbeanserver.JmxMBeanServer#572b43d] from index [1]
INFO: EJB5181:Portable JNDI names for EJB ÄrendeDao: [java:global/ÄrendeWebApplication/ÄrendeDao!com.Ärende.dao.ÄrendeDaoLocal, java:global/ÄrendeWebApplication/ÄrendeDao]
INFO: WEB0671: Loading application [ÄrendeWebApplication] at [/_rendeWebApplication]
SEVERE: The log message is empty or null. Please log an issue against the component in the logger field.
And here is where I’ve tried different things, well I thought it first complained about the name, it’s alredy in use right…. So I deleted the application and moved it to another place on my hard drive and well, I wouldn’t be posting this if it worked. Then I started considering that perhaps the database was something wrong with, I went to the console admin in glassfish to check the connection and the Ping and showed me that it worked as it should. Also perhaps important information is that I’ve connected glassfish through MySQL, but I hardly believe that this is the problem. I then stumbled across someone saying that you could force “redeploy via Eclipse” well first problem here is that I’m not using Esclipse and second problem is I’ve searched A LOT to find if there is a “Force redeploy in NetBeans” and that is not the easiest task in life. So I believe this is perhaps my last stop hopefully and maybe someone here could help me out.
here are some steps you can try:
Fix your projects name :3
If your problem is the one the question title suggests, undeploy your application first, then redeploy. You can easily undeploy and force redeploy in the Glassfish Admin Gui (http://localhost:4848).
If your application still does not work, update your question with proper formatted log messages of the actual problem.

Refused connection to a Swordfish Service Registry

i try to set up a swordfish environment, but i'm failing with setting up the service registry.
the first screenshot below shows the setting of the service registry in the sopera toolsuite.
the second screenshot shows the error message when refreshing the service registry.
so, there was no other configuration, i just installed the toolsuite, and opened the "service registry" view in eclipse, then the error popup, as shown in the screenshot, occurs.
What am i doing wrong? Am i missing something? need help!!
regards
matt
SOLUTION: I found a script which brings up the service registry i needed, so now i can see all services registered at this service registry.
NEXT PROBLEM: as shown in the screenshot below, i got a swordfish server to provide the services. But when publishing the contained feature, i again get the error message regarding a confused connection! So whats wrong now? Are there any Swordfish experts in the stackoverflow universe? ;)
"Connection refused" implies that there is no process running on the port that you are attempting to connect to.
Are you sure the service you are attempting to connect to is running?
I found another script which brings up a Swordfish server, so everything's fine now!

I am not able to connect tomcat with eclipse

My eclipse used to work fine but now I am no longer the administrator of my computer(I no longer have administrator priveledges) and i see that my already installed and working eclipse is now showing errors in my jsp files of the application which it didn't used to show before..
also I am not able to connect to tomcat server which seperately can be started normally but not inside eclipse.....
Is this something to do with my not being administrator anymore of is it something else....
would highly appreciate the help.....
I have now been able to run my tomcat server without admin previledge but problem of many files showing error still persists.........
the below written jsp code is showing error in all the files....:
<%
pageContext.getRequest().setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");
String label = pageContext.getRequest().getParameter("rswitb1");
if(label==null)label="";
else label = label.replaceAll("<", "<").replaceAll(">", ">");
%>
I am not able to get what the problem ....
if anyone could help...
The connection to the external tomcat should be using only TCP/IP port 8080, there is no reason why a non-admin user should not be able to do that.
It's possible that your tomcat password has changed (or hasn't been set up at all)
There is a troubleshooting section at the eclipse wiki (if you are using WTP, that is)
First, check out the tomcat server is on: "netstat -an" to
find that whether the port8080 is used(if you didn't assign another server port.).
check out whether the server is on(netstat -an).
Maybe 8080 is used by tomcat.
You'd better reinstall tomcat as non administrator.
