I'm fighting with this issue and Stackoveflow and Google failed me so far.
I am consuming a ssl .NET service in Spring but I get a:
org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: Could not send Message.

Caused by: java.net.SocketException: SocketException invoking https://address/service/servicews.asmx: Connection reset
I my configuration is following:
<jaxws:client

When I run a Spring test I get a following exception:

I am running CXF 2.6.16 and code is beeing compiled with java 1.5.
I have read about chunking issues and added to my conduit configuration and it results in another exception:
2015-08-21 12:07:45,900 WARN [main] [org.apache.cxf.phase.PhaseInterceptorChain:443] - <Interceptor for {http://tempuri.org/}SomeserviceSoapService#{http://tempuri.org/}Method has thrown exception, unwinding now>
org.apache.cxf.binding.soap.SoapFault: Problem writing SAAJ model to stream: Connection reset
Caused by: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxIOException: Connection reset
Caused by: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
I can conume this service in Soap UI using the same truststore and creditentials.
Help me Stackoverflow you are my only help.
In tlsClientParameters, include element secureSocketProtocol with value "TLS" (see CXF TLS Configuration).
Also, for the sake of eliminating cipher suite availability being an issue, try including all cipher suites with this lone wild-card inclusion filter:
<sec:include>.*</sec:include>
If connection is still being reset, enable the following system property:
System.setProperty("javax.net.debug", "all");
Examine standard output and post what was received from server immediately prior to connection reset.
Alas, it may well be that the SSL/TLS protocol and cipher suites allowed by the server may not be supported by such an old Java run-time.

I have Hadoop 3.3.2, Hive 3.1.3, MySql 8.0.29(apt install mysql-server) installed. MySql is running properly with mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -u debian-sys-maint -p command. But unable to run any command in Hive. I'm getting FAILED: HiveException java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.metadata.SessionHiveMetaStoreClient exception.
Then in SO, I found this question on SO, which says to execute hive --service metastore. But, when I execute this command, I get this error:

I am unable to resolve this error. $HIVE_HOME/conf/hive-site.xml looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="configuration.xsl"?>
<configuration>
<property>
<name>javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL</name>

</property>

I also have mysql-connector-java-5.1.9.jar in $HIVE_HOME/lib. I am not getting what I am missing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks to suggestions by #ggordon in comments under the question. I followed the steps in this website with some small modifications.
When I executed mysql -u debian-sys-maint -p, I was getting ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (13) error. So, I changed it to use loopback address: mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -u debian-sys-maint -p.
CREATE USER 'hiveuser'#'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'hivepassword' has to be changed to CREATE USER 'hiveuser'#'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED BY 'hivepassword', since that is what we are using. (I missed this step in question)
GRANT all on . to hiveuser was not working for me. So, after some googling, I changed it to GRANT all on hive_metastore.* to 'hiveuser'#'127.0.0.1'.
javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL property in $HIVE_HOME/conf/hive-site.xml was set to jdbc:mysql://localhost/hive_metastore?createDatabaseIfNotExist=true. It has to be changed to jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1/hive_metastore?createDatabaseIfNotExist=true.
With these changes, I followed steps in the above linked site, and it is working fine now.
I am trying to connect to h2 database from a hibernate project.
It worked fine with Oracle but I need to migrate to H2.
The only things that I have changed are the driver and the hibernate.cfg.xml
pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>com.h2database</groupId>
<artifactId>h2</artifactId>
</dependency>
hibernate.cfg.xml file
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

What else do I need to do, to successfully connect to H2.
Do I need to start H2 before connecting to it or Hibernate does this? DONO
Any advice is appreciated!
You seem not to have started the H2 server. Based on your URL, you're using tcp connection, ie the server has to be started first.
2 ways out:
you have a java master program in which you should start the server like this:
org.h2.tools.Server.createTcpServer().start();
or you could start it manually prior to your connection attempt like this:
java -cp h2*.jar org.h2.tools.Server
I noticed you're using ifexists=true. Connection will still be refused if the database does not exist prior to connection.
I start a new topic for my problem, as I mentioned some wrong things in an older one.
I'm using openejb for writing integration tests for my beans using jpa. Currently I've an Exception in some native calls done by jpa:
INFO - Creating subclass and redefining methods for "[class ContextKey, class ContextEntity]". This means that your application will be less efficient than it would if you ran the OpenJPA enhancer.

First I thought my classes are not enhanced, but as the first line mentions, the classes are subclasses, as I'm don't using the java agent to do the enhancing.
Here is my persistence.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<persistence ...>
<persistence-unit name="atm">
<jta-data-source>java:/atmAoDS</jta-data-source>
<properties>
<property name="showSql" value="false"/>
<property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect" />
</properties>
</persistence-unit>
</persistence>
Any Idea?
Faced the same error while testing my code using OpenEJB.
Actually, what is important is the final piece of your exception trace.
Caused by: java.lang.VerifyError
at sun.instrument.InstrumentationImpl.retransformClasses0(Native Method)

The solution could be found in the last answer here by Dominik java.lang.VerifyError: Expecting a stackmap frame. Just set -XX:-UseSplitVerifier.
PS: Tried to use Enhancement as mentioned here Is a method in a JPA entity allowed to throw an Exception? by Rick and here http://openjpa.208410.n2.nabble.com/Fwd-org-apache-openjpa-persistence-PersistenceException-null-td7584865.html but faced a couple of hurdles. The first was overcame by the recipe above, but the second is arguably a bug https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-1879 when using enhancement with Eclipse.
The trace reads like this.
<openjpa-2.3.0-nonfinal-1540826-r422266:1542644 nonfatal user error> org.apache.openjpa.persistence.InvalidStateException: Primary key field YOUR_CLASS.id of YOUR_CLASS#755629fd has non-default value. The instance life cycle is in PNewState state and hence an existing non-default value for the identity field is not permitted. You either need to remove the #GeneratedValue annotation or modify the code to remove the initializer processing.
I am trying to follow / learn more about Java EE and have found a very nice article http://blog.eisele.net/2012/03/java-ee-6-running-galleria-on-glassfish.html which is a step-by-step guide of how to running it on Glassfish. The original source code can be found at "hg clone https://bitbucket.org/VineetReynolds/java-ee-6-galleria"
However, now I would like to change the Derby database to MySQL and Eclipselink since i am more familiar with it. I have succeed to run the *IntegrationTest(s) but not unit tests RepositoryTest(s).
I have changed the persistence-test.xml file to:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<persistence xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd"
version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence">
<persistence-unit name="galleria-ejb" transaction-type="JTA">
<!-- <persistence-unit name="galleria-ejb" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL"> -->
<provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider>
<jta-data-source>jdbc/galleriaDS</jta-data-source> <!-- Added -->
<class>info.galleria.domain.Album</class>
<class>info.galleria.domain.Group</class>
<class>info.galleria.domain.Photo</class>

<properties>
<property name="eclipselink.ddl-generation" value="none" />
<property name="eclipselink.logging.level" value="FINEST" />
</properties>
</persistence-unit>
</persistence>
When I run the mvn clean test -Dtest=AlbumRepositoryTest#testCreateNewAlbum I got the following:

So my real question is: Is there anybody out there that can show me how to run the Vineet Reynolds / java-ee-6-galleria project with mysql instead of derby? Hibernate or Eclipselink does not really matter, I just want to run mysql instead of derby =)
Best regards
It works.. silly mistake, just started from scratch and it fixed the problem..
I am currently trying to call a web service with a client built with Apache CXF. Though the service is available in the browser, I cannot connect to it, due to the following error.
Any thoughts regarding the problem ?

Seems like one of two options
You are trying to connect to the wrong uri (server / port / url)
You trying to connect to a service which is blocked by a firewall
Maybee you could give us some more insight in the configuration you are using
With CXF you can override the target url of the WSDL by the following CXF spring configuration
<bean id="service" class="your.pack.age.YourService"
factory-bean="clientFactory" factory-method="create">
</bean>
<bean id="clientFactory" class="org.apache.cxf.jaxws.JaxWsProxyFactoryBean">
<property name="serviceClass" value="your.pack.age.YourService" />
<property name="address" value="${service.url}" />
</bean>
Open the browser settings, for sure you will find web proxy enabled, you need to pass the same settings in your code:
HTTPConduit http = (HTTPConduit) client.getConduit();
http.getClient().setProxyServer("proxy server URL");
http.getClient().setProxyServerPort(port);
