How to create blur background when fab is clicked? - java

I'm new in developing android application.
I have troubles with creating blurred background when extended (floating) action button is pressed.
I've been looking for a solution for days, however nothing works :(
I've tried to use blurred view layer underneath my buttons, but it doesn't work correctly.
I've also tried to use setOnMenuToggleListener or setOnFloatingActionsMenuUpdateListener, but android studio doesn't recognize these functions.
Can anyone help with my question?
In my XML file i use these types:
com.google.android.material.floatingactionbutton.FloatingActionButton
com.google.android.material.floatingactionbutton.ExtendedFloatingActionButton
I wanna have result like this
one result
or this
another variant

How to create Float status displays like this in Android Studio

So i've been learning Android Development and was curious how to create this using Fragments.
It doesn't need to be exactly like this, i'm referring to how they are displaying a text next to the image like that but not having the fragment not occupy the whole screen.
Would each textview/image view pair be a fragment?
Any discussion is great, i'm trying to move past the linear thinking of having only fragments being squares and whatnot

How to set TextView inside custom ImageButton (FAB)?

I am trying to build an app using the new material design specs.
I am currently trying to get a cusdtom FAB layout working, similar to the one in the new Inbox app.
I have one main button, which when clicked, expands to several smaller ones.
However i want to add a textview to the left of the smaller buttons, like the inbox app.
I cant seem to find a way of doing this.
The floating action button i am using is based off this library, but with a few modifications https://github.com/futuresimple/android-floating-action-button/blob/master/README.md
If someone could suggest a way of doing this, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Corey :)

Android: i need to do a menu like the image

i'm developing an application for android that is already done for IOS, is not big problem.
the thing is that my boss want it to be exactly the same, but one of the menus is the problem, is like a slide menu but with zoom and a background image, anyone have any idea how can i do this, i already google it but no results :(, a library would help.
here is a picture with the menu for IOS.
I don't think if it would be an effective solution but you can use a RelativeLayout.
Put the selection part behind in a LinearLayout then put a framelayout front to contain list fragments. This way you shouldn't use an action bar to have absolutely same looking with iOs version.
When someone clicks open button apply an animation to your framelayout. scale it by %75 and move it 25% in y coordinate and move it %50 in x coordinate. When buttons in your LinearLayout apply a reverse animation to your FrameLayout. If swap button clicked change your fragment with new one. You can also aply a transaction animation to your fragments.
I hope you know how to handle this stuff. If no I can do my best to code an example.
EDIT:
Don't forget to set your flame layout unclickable when you move it to right side.

I think I found your answer. I came across this in a list of libraries it is 3.8 on the list https://github.com/Trinea/android-open-project/tree/master/English%20Version

New to Android, How can I edit my Relative Layout using Java?

I have defined my Relative Layout using the drag and drop tool in Eclipse, so all of my buttons are laid out how I wish. My issue is when I set the onClick listener, that calls a method in another class. So to be able to redraw items on screen, I need to access the layout manager so I can add and remove buttons from the screen as well as update textViews. I have done all of this in a demo I made in Java, and I used a JPanel with GridBagConstraints. Now that I am moving to Android, a system I haven't done much development in, I am at the point where I have to learn some new stuff. For example in my demo I made I could do this:
grid.remove(trueButton);
grid.add(falseButton);
grid.remove(textField);
grid.add(backButton);
Essentially I want to be able to do the same sort of thing in my Android app. If you guys need more info I can provide, I wasn't really sure how much would be needed since I am looking at really just where to start. Everything has been declared in the XML since the drag and drop part of Eclipse does that all for me. It is just the Java part that is giving me some issue.
Why not just setVisibility of the buttons you wish to hide/show? Same with the TextViews.
You can set visibility to 'GONE' and it will be as if the view has been removed (taking up no space in the layout and not responding to touch events.).

Android Dropdown Effect - Spinner or not?

Achieving a true "dropdown" effect (as seen in Adobe's Photoshop Mobile app for Android, image below) has proven challenging using Androids built-in methods.
As others on Stackoverflow have told me, editing the style of a dropdown list view of an Android spinner is limiting.
How is this dropdown effect done?
(I can't seem to get an image to show, so here's a link: Adobe Photoshop Mobile for Android
After viewing the Adobe slideshow I think the way I would attempt to get that to work, using the Android Java SDK, would be to create a ListView object with a transparent background, and then dynamically hide/show it in that position when the menu button is clicked by setting the View's visibility to VISIBLE or GONE.
Getting a ListView to be transparent shouldn't be that difficult. I'd look into AbsoluteLayout to get it to hover over everything in that spot.
Another option might be to display the ListView in a custom Dialog that you've written, again positioning it in that exact spot on the screen so that it looks like a menu extending from the button that was clicked.
It's probably done using low-level draw functions.
