Adding spinning tool in jDialog in java - java

I am working in a desktop application. In my application i am performing login operation where user enters his id and password. Login page is created in java swings using jDialog. When user enters his credentials, it takes few minutes to validate user. i want to add snipping tool with message "Please wait" which will be display, when user click on "next" button.
I didn't get any swing control which can be used as snipping tool. While searching i got some idea that ajax loader.jpg can be used as a snipping tool but not getting how can i use it in my jDialog.
Please suggest me some way to add an snipping tool.

There is spinning tool available in ajax that can be directly used by putting a lable in jPanel/jDialog and importing it as an icon image.
Here is link where you can get ajax spinning tools

Thanks for your valuable suggestions and response.

You can use a JProgressBar doing a bucle and changing the progress value.
Also take note that SwingX project offers a login dialog that does it for you.

Java Browser handle button click

I need to open a browser with URL and then wait till person clicks a special button. And if it happens, return true. Can I implement it with java tools or should I use javascript?
You should use JavaScript. Java is a Server side language, so all processing of Java code will be completed before the user has the chance to interact with the page. JavaScript (traditionally) works on the client-side and is commonly used to capture user interactions with the browser.
yes, Java Script or any frame work that builds on Java script like Jquery works for you. If understands you correctly,
create Hyper link
Browse the page that you needed
Place HTML button on the page, write onClick logic on that button to return true.

Java GUI inputs to HTML bill

I am working on a project for a business. Using Java application, I am planning generate a sales bill. This is how it is going to work.....
When I run my java application, GUI window will popup and it will ask me to enter details to generate bill......after hitting submit button some background processing should happen and it should redirect me to
all data enter should be replaced by variable shown on the second pic, I also have code ready to generate this page in HTML.
Not able to figure out how to make this work.

Making popup in JSF

I am working on creating a pop-up in JSF for my project. The popup will be used for Country/State/City look-up.
The requirements are as follows:
It should be an overlay panel and not a new browser window
This is easier. I have multiple options
jQuery dialog
Some JSF library popup (ex. richfaces dialog)
The pop-up should be a separate page (a different JSP/XHTML) so the pop-up code won't get copied in a lot of pages
This is also easy. I could make a separate JSP and use some include tag to include this jsp where ever the pop-up is required.
The pop-up JSP should be able to have form with controls that may result in post-back events within the pop-up. Like the popup may have search functionality. So there may be an in put textbox, a button along with a datatable on the pop-up. When the search button is clicked,
some action needs to be executed to load the contents of the datatable, so the form (on the pop-up) will be submitted. This should not result in the pop-up being closed.
I am stuck up with this last requirement. If when the form (on pop-up) is submitted, the pop-up should not close, then this action should be asynchronous (AJAX). But the AJAX is not used in all the actions in my project. So If I need to solve this problem using AJAX, the AJAX script should be generic enough which won't require all the pop-up JSP's to re-write.
There might be a requirement to exchange data between the host page and the pop-up JSP.
May be this can be solved with some JS script. Am I correct ?
I need help with point# 3 and 4. In general if you are aware of any existing library to solve the problem, it would be great, but even if you could help with some directions, it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Alternative to clipboard for sharing data between a web based application and legacy desktop application

I've been pondering over this problem most the afternoon and haven't yet found the most ideal solution so thought I would see what others think..
There is a legacy Win16 application that has to be modified (with the least effort) in order to communicate with a web based application.
The idea is such that in the Win16 app, the user will want to look up a specific code, so they'll click a button which will then launch the browser and allow them to navigate a specific set of pages until they find the result they desire, then they have the option of either pressing Select or Cancel.
Pressing Select should pass back a small string back to the app (around 10 characters) and close the browser. Cancel will likewise send a Cancel message back to the app and again close the browser window.
I can't see many choices available in implementation as the Win16 app is not able to call webservices, so I'm looking at using the clipboard, however that is not without problems.
I hope there's some other alternative I haven't thought of,
As always - all advice appreciated.
Thanks,

file upload in form field for mobile web app

i am developing mobile web app using spring(spring mvc). I need to devlope a form which enables the user to upload file(resume) and on submit it will be stored in database.
I am not getting the idea how to finish that!
In the form when i use input type as file, it's working in diffrent manner on diffrent browser. If any one have did it ,please tell me the steps or some working demo at any site.
yes i don't want to use some third party tool.
thanx.
Sorry dude, your kinda SOL on this one. The file input type is a different beast than most. Each browser implements it in their own way, so it will never look the same on multiple browsers. Also, for security reasons, you can't trigger the file inputs with JavaScript, so you can't make an invisible file input that you would interact with through other standard inputs. Many before you have tried, all have failed. I spent days researching possible alternatives when I had nothing better to do, and they all came up against the security issue. Jquery provides the closest thing but still required a browser switch for one of the major browsers (can't remember which one off the top of my head).
So now that the bad news is out of the way, here's what you can do. Put a button on the screen and style it how you like. Put a file input on the screen and using absolute positioning and a higher z-index put it right over the top of your button. Now make it transparent (not display none, but using opacity and filter:alpha styles), now the user thinks they are interacting with your standard button, but the invisible file input above it intercepts the click. Will be the closes you can get to a file input that behaves and looks the same in all browsers.
