Are debug enabled/compiled versions of the java class libraries still available - java

Background:
I'm trying to debug a problem with a swing application where I get a class cast exception in the standard boolean table renderer of JTable. I have the source code attached but don't see any of the values for the local variables or parameters. I assume this is because I'm not java libraries compiled with debug information turned on. I'm using eclipse on windows vista.
Things I've tried:
I've searched via google and on the oracle download site. There doesn't appear to be any obvious link to download a debug version of the libraries. There is one question on this site which links to an old java download site but this just redirects to the standard oracle one now.
Thanks

I have looked into this problem before. There are lots of debates about it but no real answer. You will find some stale links to some early-access beta versions of JDK6 that supposedly contain a DEBUG bundle with rt.jar compiled with local variables enabled, but I have never actually found anything.
Sorry, but re-compiling it yourself seems the only option for now.
Edit: There appears to be some progress on this. As this answer suggest, you can download the latest snapshot release which should have all jars compiled with relevant debugging info.

Necessary and sufficient conditions to run Java applets and JWS applications in browser?

I have already asked this and was heavily downvoted. Unfortunately, I still can't solve it. I don't know what I do, but sooner or later I loose an ability to run java applets and java web start applications in all browsers.
Here is an example what is happening.
I am opening page with applets http://csis.pace.edu/~bergin/Java/applets.htm and getting the following picture:
with signs plugins were blocked. I am trying to unblock
which causes another dialog
after OK I have another
next
if clicked
And so on.
Applet doesn't run.
After dancing with PATHes, Java updates and so one, once I can have applet run. But sooner or later I will stuck in this position again.
I would like to know, is it possible to exclude this situation in principle?
I mean I don't want to disable security at all, but I mean that in case my explicit permission everything should run. Is it possible to do that?
UPDATE
First of all, I don't understand, why can't I run applet on outdated java if I want?
I am a human and robots should obey me! :)
Suppose I wish to debug my applet on old version of java, why not?
Second, there is no information about what version it thinks I have and what version it wants?
Without this information it is possible that there is just a bug in version detection mechanism.
I have multiple versions of Java in Program Files since I am a Java developer. Then how can I know which one it uses?
UPDATE 2
I have updated my Java from 1.8.0_20 to 1.8.0_25 and now situation have changed, but applets are sill impossible to run.
The proof I have "latest" java:
The proof I have added the site above to exclusions list:
The effect of applet run:
(applet not runs)
Clicking details result:
(no any details in fact)
So, what to do?
UPDATE 3
This site is not working: http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=2012VP113;orb=1;cov=0;log=0;cad=0#orb
(show orbit diagram)
Reloading/restarting browser does not help.
I looked at your html source and realized you're using the .class file directly instead of wrapping it in a jar file. This is what you have:
<applet code="GSort.class" width=700 height=400>
I think applets no longer work when using .class files directly due to new security requirements. They have to be wrapped in jar files because you need to add some security settings to the meta-inf folder of the jar file. Here is how oracle recommends deploying an applet:
https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/applet/deployingApplet.html
Edit:
I tried again with adding the site url to the Java security exception list and this time I got it to work! It looks like chrome stays in memory after exiting so changing Java security doesn't affect it unless you shut down chrome completely and restart it. Easiest way is to use Internet Explorer. Try it with Internet Explorer and it should work (assuming that you still have the site added under java security exception list).

Where have the Eclipse online javadocs gone?

For as long as I've been working on Eclipse plug-ins when I have wanted to read some documentation I have always just googled it. This worked fine up until about a week ago when I started being met with this message:
| Topic not found
The topic that you have requested is not available. The link may be wrong, or you may not have the corresponding product feature installed. This online help only includes documentation for features that are installed.
Today this has tripped me up on the following queries:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=ITreeContentProvider
http://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=IObjectActionDelegate
Sometimes trying different versions of the Eclipse docs works, sometimes it doesn't.
I had assumed this was just a glitch but I'm still noticing this issue, where have the docs gone?
Two suggestions without using Google:
Use the Eclipse documentation directly!
Use Bkekko with my Eclipse slashtag: https://blekko.com/ws/ITreeContentProvider+/timkrueger/eclipse
This issue is now resolved. I contacted the Eclipse web admin but didn't hear back so whether Eclipse fixed the issue or Google figured it out, i'm not sure.

Weblogic Workshop asks to upgrade projects everytime

I am using the Weblogic Workshop for Portlet development. It's built on Eclipse. I upgraded my Eclipse from 3.2 to Weblogic Workshop.
The problem is that everytime I start the Workshop it gives me an upgrade information that I need to upgrade my projects as they were created with older version of Eclipse.
This should have to be done only once, right? Not everytime. Is there a solution?
Text of message:
"Upgrade projects created with older release of Eclipse and/or related plugins."
Thanks,
Sid
Is your project in a source control system that may have made some files read-only? If so, use your source control client to "check out" all project files before opening the project in Eclipse. Then find files that have been changed by upgrade and check them back in.
If that doesn't apply to your situation, take a look at your Error Log view in Eclipse after upgrade. Are there any errors/exceptions in there? You may want to clear the log and repeat to get only the most recent problems. Use information that you gather to open a support ticket at Oracle. The problem that you are describing is likely a bug.

Where can I download the source of "appframework.jar" that comes with NetBeans?

I have just started to try NetBeans. I created a new Java Desktop Application project, and it automatically added the JDesktop "appframework-1.0.3.jar" library. However, whenever I try to view its source, the command fails. I tried searching for it online, but I couldn't find it. So where can I download the source code for the "Swing Application Framework" (appframework.jar and swing-worker.jar)?
http://java.net/projects/appframework/sources/svn/show/trunk/AppFramework
the link and the source is too old and hard to be found, luckly i used 30 min find it in :
https://java.net/projects/appframework/sources/svn/show/trunk/www/downloads?rev=151
you can see the "source","jar","doc" of appframework-1.0.3.jar at the ending.
If you came to this question, because you couldn't find "Swing Application Framework" (appframework.jar) using Tools -> Plugins -> Available Plugins My Answer may help you.
First If you just need appframework.jar please get it from the below link.
If you already click the links in other answers you can Swing Application Framework has migrated from java.net and hard to find where it is migrated
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/net.java.dev.appframework/appframework/1.03
If you just need Netbeans for Swing Application developments, I suggest you use Netbeans 8.0.2 version. As I experienced Latest version does not have the exact IDE which uses in Video Tutorials, Other versions may not properly work with Swing. As per my experience below version will serve you right when it comes to Java Swing Application developments
https://netbeans.org/downloads/old/8.0.2/

Netbeans IDE problem on MacOSX

I installed Netbeans IDE on Mac OS X few weeks ago. In the code-completion window while writing Java code, I always get the proper full list of possible code completions but in the window that pops-up which is supposed to display JDK documentation entry (all details) for each possible completion, it always say that JDK documentation was not found! It never happened to me when I worked on Windows.
I even downloaded and explicitly added JDK docs library to Netbeans library but to no use. Has anybody faced such problem? Please help! Thanks a lot in advance.
Well since nobody else answered and I had the same issue, but wasn't motivated enough to figure it out, I tracked down the way to do it... look here.
The only changes I did was to use the latest JavaDoc instead of the 1.5 one and to use Java Platforms in step 3 (I am using Netbeans 6.5, I guess the menu structure changed from when he did it).
