Unable to load the mojo 'war' in the plugin 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-war-plugin:2.2' due to an API incompatibility

I am trying to build my office project where I've upgraded from java 11 to 17.
I've updated my maven according to the compatible java version and after getting a a lot of help on the rest of the errors I'm still stuck on this one.
Things I've updated till now:
Eclipse version, java version , java version , surefire plugin details, mirrorOf tag in settings.xml.
Details of the versions are mentioned below :
Java version - 17 .
Java Home - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17.0.5
java path - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17.0.5\bin -
java version in my pom - 17
maven version installed in my system - 3.8.5
maven_home - C:\project\Softwares\Maven\apache-maven-3.8.5\bin
maven in my pom.xml - 3.8.1
Now after setting up everything , this is the error. Please help me in rectifying this :

EDIT 2 : Even though , I've added the latest maven -war in my pom but while running the build, the maven is picking the 2.2 version .

Try cleaning the project and updating the maven dependencies (right-click project -> Maven -> Update Project)
If it doesn't work, there might be an issue with your Maven install.
You may try uninstalling the M2Eclipse plugin, deleting the .m2 folder on your drive, and then reinstalling M2Eclipse.
PS:
I noticed that you have used servlet 3 dependencies in your project. Since you are using java 17, you might upgrade them accordingly to the latest available versions

Adding swagger core libraries to my dropwizard application breaks it completely

I have a relatively old dropwizard application with a bunch of outdated dependencies, but it works perfectly fine. We recently decided to generate open API docs from the application and for that we included Swagger libraries.
Everything was working fine locally in intellij. We finished the code and pushed to our deployed machines and there we realize there are some serious problems.
The problem was highlighted when we created the uber jar with maven via:
mvn --batch-mode --show-version --update-snapshots --errors '-Dmaven.test.skip=true' clean install
Now the uber jar is created just fine. But after running the application, I see the following exception:

I have tried listing the dependency tree but there is no clear error showing up. I tried updating different versions but that is going to be ridiculously difficult to resolve. It is something in the POM itself as I tried adding the dependency to a previous commit's POM which does not have the code and it did break it.
I simply have no idea what is wrong here and I am severely stuck with this thing.

How to remove stax-api from maven build

I have a maven EAR project with five moduls (EAR,JPA,WSVC,WSVCRouter,Properties).
When i trigger the build, I want to prevent stax-api from building as part of EAR.
I have googled and found out the exceptions tag, I have used it in all the places where I have dependency tag but still this jar is not excluded. Can anyone please help me on this. Thanks !!!

Did you try the mvn dependency:tree to see if any other library don't use the stax-api?
In this link shows that 348 other libs use the stax-api.
Other thing you can try it`s use bannedDependencies.

I am trying to run an already existing maven application. While doing so, it is always looking for downloading the file from the artifactory (javaguru....). Those dependencies will come from the repository configured in your pom.xml or settings.xml.It looks like your Maven is configured to resolve from Artifactory (which is a good thing to do).
If you want to add your own files to be resolved by Maven you should deploy them to Artifactory. If this instance is not in your control you should install your own instance of Artifactory inside your team/organization and configure your Maven installation to resolve from it.

Maven and Spring, using #FormDataParam gives missing dependency errors

I'm trying to use #FormDataParam to easily support multipart uploads. I'm able to compile all the sources fine. But, when running, I get the following error in the console:
SEVERE: Missing dependency for method public java.lang.String com.fluxtream.api.TimeZoneStore.getTimeZoneMapping(java.lang.String) at parameter at index 0
SEVERE: Method, public java.lang.String com.fluxtream.api.TimeZoneStore.getTimeZoneMapping(java.lang.String), annotated with GET of resource, class com.fluxtream.api.TimeZoneStore, is not recognized as valid resource method.
That isn't the method that's going to use the annotation. But, I just set that up to get the error to output, since I reverted my old changes. The method header is:
