Display animated gif on jPanel
Show animated gif in Java
So I am creating a game applet in Java, using Netbeans. It is textbased, but I want to display an animated GIF image on the front page. I only know how to display static images. Could anyone help?
You might try putting the animated GIF into a JLabel. If I remember correctly, the JLabel will automatically animate the GIF.

Set Animated .GIF As Background Android

I would like to know how to put a gif in a Button's background on Android.
I already found out how to put a gif in an image view but I can't find any answer for my problem.
Buttons do not support gifs as a background resource.
Why does it has to be a button?
Just use an Image-View and react to an onClick event.

How do you rezize an ImageIcon?
Let´s say we have a ImageIcon we want to display on a screen. But the ImageIcon is too big so we cannot see the whole picture. Then it would be desirable to be able to rezize the ImageIcon to a specific width and height, with the intention of making the displayed ImageIcon smaller so we can see the whole image on the screen. Any idea how this could be done in java?
You can use Image.getScaledInstance(...) to resize the Image to your desired fixed size. Then you create your ImageIcon and add it to a JLabel.
You can read up on The Perils of Image.getScaledInstance() blog for more information and other suggestions.
You can also try using the Stretch Icon. This Icon will dynamically resize itself based on the space available to the JLabel.

Oval Gradient in Android

I want to perform a gradient effect that shines from bottom of the layout as appear in the following picture. Notice that it is not a regular tag with start colour and end colour because I tried those but I haven't reach to the required solution. Also I don't want to set the background with a picture because I’m concern of quality issues. Please help. Thank you.
You can't do this using XML drawables in Android. I recommend using images.

How to set background image in Java?
I am trying to put a background image on my java gui, and I can't figure out how to do it. I've looked around and tried some code but I can't get it to work. I have the imageicon setup but I don't understand where I'm suppose to put this at. Please help!
Read the section from the Swing tutorial on How to Use Icons for an example of displaying an icon.
Then, depending on your requirement, Background Panel explains how you can then use the JLabel with the icon as a background image.
Could this solve your problem? It's an explanation code which shows how you can put a background-image to a panel :) http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Swing-JFC/Panelwithbackgroundimage.htm
