When the application is started, none of the rows is selected. But I would like to show that the first row is already selected.
How to do this? Do I need to set the color of a row in JTable?
Update:
I tried table.setRowSelectionInterval(0,0). I know it should work, but there is an error message:

You can do it calling setRowSelectionInterval :
table.setRowSelectionInterval(0, 0);
to select the first row.
It is an old post, but I came across this recently
Selecting a specific interval
As #aleroot already mentioned, by using
table.setRowSelectionInterval(index0, index1);
You can specify an interval, which should be selected.
Adding an interval to the existing selection
You can also keep the current selection, and simply add additional rows by using this here
table.getSelectionModel().addSelectionInterval(index0, index1);
This line of code additionally selects the specified interval. It doesn't matter if that interval already is selected, of parts of it are selected.
You use the available API of JTable and do not try to mess with the colors.
Some selection methods are available directly on the JTable (like the setRowSelectionInterval). If you want to have access to all selection-related logic, the selection model is the place to start looking

Within an eclipse plugin I am trying to create a pop up window that activates within an editor and adds syntax to a string depending on the selection chosen in the pop up window. I have an editor class that extends AbstractTextEditor and within it I am trying to use a keylistener to pop up a window that contains a list of string manipulation functions and then when an item in the list is selected I want to replace some selected content with the new string returned from the method in the pop up window. When I attempt to do this (with the code in the 2 linked files), I receive the error below:

It seems that when autoupdate class tries to inform the editor class that a change has been selected it cannot manipulate the styledText variable. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The reason you are getting that exception is because when you make changes that are UI related with SWT you have to execute a runnable vis Display.syncExec(myRunable) otherwise that exception will occur.

I've got a similar issue. The solution was changing the theme!
Try the following:
Open JMeter -> Options -> Look and Feel -> Select any other theme other than Darcula (E.g. System theme).
Restart JMeter.

Normally this happens when a Dependent jar is not present or in case if there is a conflicting jar with different implementation present.
Check this post

I was not able to open any file. Ctrl + O was showing same error. Problem is solve by changing theme.
I am connecting a database with my application. SELECT queries works fine that means that the connection is estabilished. When ever I use statement.execute(parameter) method, I can get the information that is saved at server but when ever I try to insert new data and use statement.executeUpdate(parameter) method it throws me a list of errors. Well, I am stuck on this issue from almost 3 days but found nothing helpful relevant to my problem.

To be very particular, I can see that my issue is somewhere here or may be not. But I can't figure out why it is giving NullPointerException.
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException
at Database.Database.executeQuery(Database.java:26)
at Clients.Customer.saveData(Customer.java:141)
This is my code from where I am trying to execute query
public void saveData(){
if(!repOK()){
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "One or more mendetory fields are empty","Error",JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE);
}
else{
database.executeQuery("INSERT INTO CustomerList(customerCode,customerName,resourcePerson,balance,mobile,landline) VALUES('"+customerCodeF.getText()+"','"+customerNameF.getText()+"','"+resourcePersonF.getText()+"','"+balanceF.getText()+"','"+mobileF.getText()+"','"+landLineF.getText()+"')");
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"Data Saved");
createCustomertable();
resetForm();
}
}
Note: This method is called in actionListener of save button.
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
database.InitializeDatabase("Rimco");
saveData();
database.closeDatabase();
}
Below is a snippet from my Database class that is to execute the query.
public void executeQuery(String query){
try {
//statement.executeUpdate(query);
PreparedStatement p= connection.prepareStatement(query);
p.executeUpdate();
} catch (SQLException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
First I tried to use executeUpdate(query); to do the job but same error showed up. Then I switched over to PreparedStatment but nothing happened and the same error remains.
Any idea would be of great help.
Thanks a lot!
I'm guessing that one of your references to a text field is null, so that when you do
base.executeQuery("INSERT INTO CustomerList(customerCode,customerName,resourcePerson,balance,mobile,landline) VALUES('"+customerCodeF.getText()+"','"+customerNameF.getText()+"','"+resourcePersonF.getText()+"','"+balanceF.getText()+"','"+mobileF.getText()+"','"+landLineF.getText()+".....
you're probably throwing an NPE by calling getText() on a null value that you think is a reference to a text field.
You'll probably find it helpful to step through the code in a debugger to find this.
Oh, and you really shouldn't concatenate raw user-supplied text input into your sql statement - bind parameters to a prepared statement instead. Do a search for "SQL Injection" or "Little Bobby Tables" to find out why...

Go through the second list model and compare each item with selected element from the first model. If equals() returns true the second list contains the selected element.
Try to cast like this
ListModel lst1mdl = dsplList.getModel();
with out casting to (DefaultListModel).

The weird thing is that the order I check and uncheck the JCheckBox-es matters. I'm trying to see if there's a pattern, but I don't have enough data yet. I'm just trying to get some ideas on where to go looking for potential problems.
EDIT 1: I just checked the four methods called in the edited lines of the stack trace. They are only called when the window opens to initially populate the fields with the required data. Once the dialog is open, they are never called, so they aren't the problem.
EDIT 2: After triple checking the state of every variable in the edited out function calls, I've pretty much eliminated them as being culprits.
Looks like you have a JTable with a DoubleRenderer for one of your columns and the data you get contains illegal values for that decimal column. Probably some alphanumeric characters instead of numbers only.
