Our applet source code is kind of spaghetti (written in 2000, Java 1.3 then) and we want to recompile it to Java 1.6 or 1.7.
When I'm testing it, most of the Swing is OK but after sometime, an Exception occurred, which is EDT exception. Specifically, when a drag event is done, a series of EDT exceptions appear.
Is this something to with coding the I/O part in ActionListeners because I've read that it is bad to code I/O operations in action listeners, which EDT executes when a action is performed.
EDIT:
This is the recurring exception

I guess it has something to do with the version of java plugin.
In java 1.6_10, a new version of this plugin is release, i just disabled the option in java found in control panel
Advance->Java Plug In ->Enable the next generation Java Plug in
When i disable this, this recurring error with no distinct behavior no longer appears.
I guess also it has something to do with our code written in the days of Java 1.3.

Within an eclipse plugin I am trying to create a pop up window that activates within an editor and adds syntax to a string depending on the selection chosen in the pop up window. I have an editor class that extends AbstractTextEditor and within it I am trying to use a keylistener to pop up a window that contains a list of string manipulation functions and then when an item in the list is selected I want to replace some selected content with the new string returned from the method in the pop up window. When I attempt to do this (with the code in the 2 linked files), I receive the error below:

It seems that when autoupdate class tries to inform the editor class that a change has been selected it cannot manipulate the styledText variable. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The reason you are getting that exception is because when you make changes that are UI related with SWT you have to execute a runnable vis Display.syncExec(myRunable) otherwise that exception will occur.

I've got a similar issue. The solution was changing the theme!
Try the following:
Open JMeter -> Options -> Look and Feel -> Select any other theme other than Darcula (E.g. System theme).
Restart JMeter.

Normally this happens when a Dependent jar is not present or in case if there is a conflicting jar with different implementation present.
Check this post

I was not able to open any file. Ctrl + O was showing same error. Problem is solve by changing theme.
It worked two days ago. Now it doesn't. I'm 100% sure the coding is correct. This is the way I used to connect the database. Couldn't find an answer yet to my problem. Please give me an answer as i'm a beginner for java language. (Using jdk 7u72)

Based on the comments, your system is now running on the Java 8 JRE. The ODBC Bridge has been removed from this, and all future versions. You need to find a native JDBC driver for the database you want to connect to, and put that on your classpath.
java -classpath "[/path/to/your/driver.jar];." [yourclassname]
Alternatively, you could explicitly use the JDK 7 runtime, but I'd recommend against this. You've uncovered a compatibility problem, and it's better to solve it than to try to work around it.
Please add your jar to the class path like below.
java -cp .;C:\Program Files\MySQL\mysql-connector-java-5.1.15\mysql-connector-java-5.1.15.jar MysqlConnect
Note:Please replace msql connector with your jar file as per requirement.
We have a client server application which runs using spring remoting framework and we are using jetty server and Java 1.7. We deliver both client and server to the customers.
At one of customer's office, for one of the user login, he is getting this Exception which is mentioned in the title of the postjava.net.SocketException:Unexpected end of file from the server. He is actually doing the search for something which makes a server call and finally he ends up getting this error in the error log.
The weird thing is, nobody else in the Customer's office gets this error. It is very weird.
And also i googled about this exception but did not get appropriate answer.
Please provide your suggestions.

case 1:
jcom.dll is not in path.
solution:
put the jcom.dll in C:/Windows/System32
case 2:
jcom.dll is used by someother process
solution:
try to find that process and kill it.
The java.library.path is using for JNI shared libraries such as DLLs or .so files. It appears your jcom.jar (which you can see is being loaded on the third line of the stack so it finds the JAR) needs a jcom.dll. On windows, this has to be in your PATH or java.library.path
