I want to use PDFbox with PHP/Java bridge, because the only other option after a lot of research involves XPDF and my host won't allow shell_exec(). I have managed to setup the PHP/Java bridge and I have downloaded the PDFbox library but I have no idea what to do with the library to be able to use its API in PHP - how do I include it?
The current folder structure I have with the bridge is:
JavaBridge
java (containing Java.inc and JavaProxy.php)
WEB-INF
index.php (containing the code to test that I can use the bridge)
I have no idea how Java works in details, I just want to use the APIs to parse PDF documents (something similar to this example but parsing instead of merging). So do I need to build, do I need to just copy the files in one of the folders...?
And a second question: following the instructions on the PHP/Java bridge I've setup tomcat. But it only works on localhost so far, when I copy the JavaBridge folder on my PHP server I get the following error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Could not connect to the JEE server 127.0.0.1:8080. Please start it. Or define('JAVA_HOSTS',9267); define('JAVA_SERVLET',false); before including 'Java.inc' and try again.
How do I get a JEE server then? If I use a java host will I be able to connect to it?
Thanks in advance!

We have moved our DataAccess logic to Microservice and it is currently implemented as gRPC with C++ and we are able to utilize that in C# client and C++ client.
Now we have to make use of this DataAccess grpc in Matlab client(legacy). So, i'm trying to find a way to access gRPC from Matlab and found that there is no official support for this.
I found two solutions,
Using Java
I have tried as suggested in this thread. i have created a sample grpc client java using Eclipse. but when i try to access that class/methods from matlab, i'm facing below issue,
Java exception occurred:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.google.common.base.Preconditions.checkArgument(ZLjava/lang/String;CLjava/lang/Object;)V

it was discussed here, and it says it is not possible anymore. Can anyone let me know whether this is possible now or i am missing something?
Using Matlab Proto Compiler [Farsounder]
Next i have tried to use Farsounder solution v2.5.0 for creating stub files based on this.
Only after creating protoc.exe, I realized it was for Proto V2. So, now i'm trying use Protov3Matlab.
But the build instructions are not clear here and it has one cmake file and i dont know how to run it. Can anyone help me build this for windows environment?
I'm new to Java and Matlab, sorry if i have missed any obvious things.
Thanks in advance.
I was able to create protoc.exe.
Steps:
Checked out latest protobuf source.
Updated the source with farsounder matlab source and cmake file.
Followed https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf/blob/master/cmake/README.md build the source.
I have a web application running in AIX server and the requirement is to read an IDML file, get the coordinates of each and every text in the file and write some custom information into a PDF based on the coordinates.
I have gone thru various documents and forums on how to setup or what is required to achieve this, but I am confused. I need some information on what is required from software and licensing perspective in order to achieve this requirement.
In order to run the java program, which can access IDML file in AIX server, do I have to buy InDesign Server license or I can extract the IDMLTools.jar from SDK and place it in my ClassPath?
Where do I find IDML SDK? I am unable to access IDMLToolsLib.com site?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Satish.
There is a Java lib IMLLib. It intends to ease the idml file exploration. I never used it myself but it seems a great tool.

Why not unzip the IDML and parse the resulting XML files?
I'm trying to convert oracle forms FMB files to XML. To do this I'm using forms developer 10's native Java tool. This works fine on my local computer but I'm trying to automate the conversion process on a server.
I've taken the main folder "Dev10G" from my forms install directory and added it to the server, but I'm getting the error that you can see in the screenshot. I'm trying to avoid doing a full install of forms developer on the server if I can help it. Has anyone any suggestion on what I might try next.
Thanks
You need to exit the bat file in textpad.
You will then need to change the paths.
I you need extra help feel free to checkout my note how to do it here

after lots of investigations for calling a web service from silverlight:
Calling a Java Web service from silverlight throws an exception
I found out that I should I have to create a clientaccesspolicy.xml file and put it in the root folder of the application. I copied it in the root folder of my ASPX (web page) but it didn't help. I'm guessing the root folder should be the root folder of the server for my Java service. I have apache server on my Win7 x64 system but after stopping it the Java still worked so I'm guessing that the server for Eclipse IDE is different from Apache.
So the main question here is: Where is the root folder of Java Eclipse server? Where should I put that xml file?
Thanks.
If you are using a self-hosted Java webservice with Endpoint.publish(String) then I think it is not possible to add further files for delivery, e.g. a crossdomain.xml
Instead you need to switch from a self-hosted webservice to a server-hosted webservice as described here (the tutorial is using Netbeans, but a similar approach should be possible with Eclipse, too, even if it might be slightly easier to use Netbeans for this example). As Tomcat is used as a server, it is also possible to deliver the corresponding Silverlight project files as well, in which case you do not need a crossdomain.xml
I am trying to write a Java program using JavaMail to send an email between 2 users. I have NOT added mail.jar and activation.jar files to my appengine project as I read somewhere that this would cause exceptions to be thrown since the functionality is already available with the appengine .jar files. But my program is throwing the following exception:-
Exception in thread "main" com.google.apphosting.api.ApiProxy$CallNotFoundException: The API package 'mail' or call 'Send()' was not found.

I read in the following post: http://forums.smartclient.com/showthread.php?t=8589 that I need to remove appengine .jar files from my project to make things work. But my web application also involves rendering a .jsp file populated with some data which is the welcoming page of my Google App when deployed on google appengine and the project fails to work once I remove the .jars. It does help me in getting rid of the exception though. Can anyone please suggest a way to write an email program and make it work on a google appengine project?
It is likely you are still somehow accidentally including a .jar file that shouldn't be included.
Right click on your project folder and check:
Properties -> java build path
Properties -> Java EE Module dependencies
And also make sure you the jar is not in /war/WEB-INF/lib/, jars that should not be uploaded to google should be stored in a separate location of your project, i recommend /lib/.
If you use Flexible, this is because Google does not support Mail service in the flex environment. Java Mail with the built-in Mail service in GAE are seemed to be designed to work only in the standard Java framework on this Migration tips.. In flexible, three third party's mail API are introduced to be used instead. You may use GMail API for another option.
