I am building android project with maven. But I found when I call getChildFragmentManager in v4.Fragment, it shows an error that this method is not found. I doubt that the support-v4 package is not newer enough because if I using ant to build my project everything works just fine.
However I can't get the newer support-v4 to be included into my project.
Here is my pom.xml

I've been stumped by this for hours (which is why I also added a bounty), but here's how I finally resolved it.
First of all, check your project's classpath dependancies using
mvn dependency:build-classpath
I could immediately see the problem in the output:
<home>/.m2\repository\android\extras\android-support\v4\android-support-v4.jar
<home>/.m2\repository\android\platforms\android\android-18\android-android-18.jar
<home>/.m2\repository\com\actionbarsherlock\actionbarsherlock\4.4.0\actionbarsherlock-4.4.0.apklib
<home>/.m2\repository\com\google\android\support-v4\r7\support-v4-r7.jar
<... more jars>
There are two support jars included, and the support-v4-r7.jar overrides my newer android-support-v4.jar.
The older one was being loaded by ActionBarSherlock in my project (in your project the culprit might be any of the apklib dependencies), so I excluded it in my project pom:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.actionbarsherlock</groupId>
<artifactId>actionbarsherlock</artifactId>
<version>4.4.0</version>
<type>apklib</type>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>com.google.android</groupId>
<artifactId>support-v4</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
Hopefully this helps someone.

I have created a sdk which acts a library to generate api testcases .
Whenever I add my java-sdk dependency in the pom.xml file of the client application, those dependencies which are not in the client's application and used by java-sdk to add support for but are not used internally get imported along .
For eg: my java-sdk uses ApacheClient, so it contains the ApacheClient dependency for intercepting. But if the client is not using this dependency, it should not appear in the application classpath but it does.
I have created a multi-module project to upload at maven central , the module where all other module acts as dependency looks like -

I'm woking on Java project. I use Maven, Wildfly and IntelliJ IDEA, running on Ubuntu 16.04. I've created a simple Hello-world application in Main class, using System.out.println() . I'm trying to deploy it on Wildfly server. What I'm doing is:
1. Run standalone.sh
2. Deploy project from it's folder.
Now, as far as I understand, I should see the result, if I type localhost:8080/'Project name'. But when I follow the link, i get Error 404.
Should I use any other tools?
Or how the application should be structered in order to be deployable on Wildfly server?

I'm trying to build a REST API of web Services I created for my project.
My web services are working without problems.
Now, I want to Deploy my Services on a distant server and I need to generate the war file.
I'm using Java, Eclipse and Maven for dependencies. I tried to make a clean install and the only problem of failure is that :
[WARNING] The artifact jdbc:jdbc:jar:2.0 has been relocated to javax.sql:jdbc-stdext:jar:2.0
[INFO] Downloading: https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/javax/sql/jdbc-stdext/2.0/jdbc-stdext-2.0.jar
Could not find artifact javax.sql:jdbc-stdext:jar:2.0 in central (https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2), try downloading from http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/download.html
Anyone has a solution ?
P.S : Why i didn't face the problem while testing is because I added the jdbc-stdext-2.0.jar manually and now I'm in troubles.

You experience the problem because you are including artifacts that have only source packages available. The maven dependency for jdbc.jdbc is referenced as a binary.
Most probably you don't need to include that dependency because those interfaces are provided by the JEE containers that you run your WAR archive in. I would recommend removing the jdbc artifact with the exlusion part entirely.
You can browse as what is available at jdbc/jdbc folder at Maven Central. And indeed the extension for it has removed under javax/sql at Maven Central.
I believe this is because you listed the artifact as an exclusion in your pom. i.e
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<artifactId>jdbc-stdext</artifactId>
<groupId>javax.sql</groupId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
I think if you remove this block you will be fine

I'm developing with Eclipse and when I run the project everything works fine. When I build with the Maven goal assembly:assembly, it makes the JAR but when I run the JAR it gives me this error:

The problem is related to the Java mail dependency. As you can see I've used com.sun.mail but I saw some other different libraries that correspond to javax.mail.
Maybe I'm missing something in my poms, such as configuration parameters or plugins.
I've also tried to put in my local repository a mail.jar that works fine in other projects but I get the same error.
The "Unresolved compilation problem" comes from a class file in your utils project that Eclipse has compiled, but where Eclipse was unable to compile it properly.
The reason you are seeing different results from Eclipse and Maven is that they are using different versions of the class file. Eclipse is doing workspace resolution, so it's using the version of SMTPMailService in utils/target/classes. Maven is resolving the utils jar from your local Maven repository, which was put there by running mvn install while you had compile errors in Eclipse.
Try running mvn clean install in the utils project (clean to remove any class files generated by Eclipse, install to replace the jar in your local repository). Then rebuild your assembly.
