I'm trying to get my head around Java and how it works with JDBC so I've set up a SQL 2012 Express server on my domain controller.
I've successfully connected to it via a domain computer using another SQL 2012 instance but when using Java to pull a simply query down I get a 'No suitable driver found' error, even though I'm using and have imported the SQL4 .JAR extension.
Heres my code:
Is there a reason I'm getting this error?

You have to load driver before connecting using Class.forName("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver"); as first instruction.
Also connection string is wrong (is like PostgreSQL one): here how to build corrected connection string.
Should looks like
jdbc:sqlserver://brk:1433;databaseName=Accounts_Table;

I'm working on a desktop program made in Java (Eclipse).
The program transfers data from a pdf file to a Google sheets document.
So far it works fine in Eclipse.
I'm running into problems when I'm trying to create a runable jar.
It is made as a gradle project.

Is there any problem with my jars or code.when i tried to print the value inside the while loop its not getting printed in console.
This error says to me that you are using incompatible versions of the xdb and ojdbc JARs.
According to your stacktrace, the class oracle.xdb.XMLTypeFactory (which is in the xdb JAR) depends on the class oracle.jdbc.internal.XMLTypeIntf. This latter class can be found in the 12c versions of the JDBC driver JARs, which can be downloaded from this page, but not in versions of the JDBC driver older than that.
Either upgrade ojdbc to a later version, or downgrade xdb to an older version.
I am unable to run an application, one of the functions of which is to show the serial ports and i can run the application in Netbeans but can't do the same when I try to run it in an exported executable jar, I don't know what's causing the problem, I already have the necessary serial comm files in the right places, I really need help guys..
I tried using the java -jar filename.jar and this is what I got :-

It worked two days ago. Now it doesn't. I'm 100% sure the coding is correct. This is the way I used to connect the database. Couldn't find an answer yet to my problem. Please give me an answer as i'm a beginner for java language. (Using jdk 7u72)
public void set()
{
try
{
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
String su=new String("jdbc:odbc:MOVIESURF"); //This is the database
con=DriverManager.getConnection(su,"","");
st=con.createStatement();
}
catch(Exception e2){System.out.println(e2);}
}

Based on the comments, your system is now running on the Java 8 JRE. The ODBC Bridge has been removed from this, and all future versions. You need to find a native JDBC driver for the database you want to connect to, and put that on your classpath.
java -classpath "[/path/to/your/driver.jar];." [yourclassname]
Alternatively, you could explicitly use the JDK 7 runtime, but I'd recommend against this. You've uncovered a compatibility problem, and it's better to solve it than to try to work around it.
Please add your jar to the class path like below.
java -cp .;C:\Program Files\MySQL\mysql-connector-java-5.1.15\mysql-connector-java-5.1.15.jar MysqlConnect
Note:Please replace msql connector with your jar file as per requirement.

I believe this is a problem with breaking out of the sandbox, and communicating with the computer.
Can using AccessController.doPrivileged solve the problem? What are my options other than modifying the policy file?
It turns out, the problem I had, was that my referenced Jar files (outside the main Jar) was not signed, and after signing them the problem went away.
