Spring MVC Multi-Module

I have a problem with a multi-module project with spring mvc.
I have a project divided into a parent with two submodules "rest" and "core", "rest" will contain the controllers and "core" the objects that I will go to manipoalre with the rest
I wrote the parent's pom file like this:

I do not understand where the error is, I think the configuration of the pom files is correct.
Inside the core module, inside the "com.hive.core" package there is a User class that is called by the AuthorizationController controller that is located inside the "com.hive.rest.controller" package inside the form rest

I assume User object is being created by Spring for DI.
Something wrong with the way packages is being defined.
Thumb Rule : Root package of module would be consider as default for scanning beans/components definition i.e. all stereotype annotations and all #Configuration
Your package declaration :
Parent : com.hive.api
Core : com.hive.core
Rest : com.hive.rest
When you would be starting the REST module then com.hive.rest would be scanned for beans and beans defined in core module will not be instantiated.
So either you need to define the bean(User) in a config file(#Configuration) in rest module if it seems feasible or else change default component scanning via adding #ComponentScan(basePackages = "com.hive") in config file of rest modole.
Above theory is applied for only spring managed beans.
While it is perfectly fine to manually create(new User()) the object in rest modole as long as that is available in classpath.

I use Spring Tool Suite 3.8.1.RELEASE to create a Spring project integrating Hibernate. I follow the tutorial in this site. When I tried to create the class mentioned at the first step 1. javax.servlet.ServletRegistration is available since servlet 3.0. Update dependency as below

What main class do I use for Java Spring?

I'm attempting to create a JAR or WAR file from SpringToolSuite using the provided MVC Spring Project template. When I try to export (via STS) or clean package (maven) my code, the jars always fail to run because there is no main manifest attribute found. A web project (war) can not just be saved as jar. But as you are working with Spring, I recommend you have a look at Spring Boot: http://projects.spring.io/spring-boot/
Spring Boot allows you to create web projects as runnable jars.
Another option would be: http://tomcat.apache.org/maven-plugin-trunk/executable-war-jar.html
This plugin allows you, to build a standalone jar out of your web project, by packing a standalone version of tomcat into the jar.
