I am working on a big project with a complex codebase written in java. I want to understand a particular piece of code and i thought getting a sequence diagram of the entry point method would give me a good idea. I use intelliJ and i looked for a plugin which could do this and i found 'SequencePlugin' but unfortunately it is not working in intelliJ 8.1.4. Can i achieve what i am trying to in any other way? Is there a standard approach to follow when trying to understand a complex codebase other than by debugging?

I've been working with SonarQube for just a little I have downloaded the project from the https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/PLUG/Writing+Custom+Java+Rules+101 page, I jumped to create my own rules, but I still lack a lot more knowledge by how customizing them, I don't know how to visit the nodes and changing them depending on the element found on the syntax, the SonarQube page doesn't explain more than the custom exercise, is there a specific guide for this?
https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/PLUG/Writing+Custom+Java+Rules+101 exercise
This is done with AST, it's implemented with Visitor Pattern.
The easiest way is to check examples provided by SonarSource: https://github.com/SonarSource/sonar-custom-rules-examples
Some examples of AST can be found at Java Parser book
I have done some examples for old version 5.2, you can check them at: https://github.com/devwebcl/sonarqube-plugins-java-5.2

I have SQL expression for Postgres. And i want to get Abstract syntax tree to manipulate this from Java program.
I have found sqlite-parser (find it google, please, I have not enough reputation) from code-school but it`s in develop.
So, do you know another parsers that could execute from Java program ? If it is possible, write almost stable parsers, please.

I'm creating a simple program in java and I want to create a graphical user interface. However, I'm not good at programming, so I find it difficult to use java's awt and applet and whatnot. Any tip for software, plugins or another cheat I can use?
You could use the Netbeans WYSIWYG-Editor.
You can use swing to !programm! simple UI. It has classes like JFrame,JMenu,JButton,JLable,JPabel,JProgressBar,JTextArea,KeyStroke, filechooser all you need to do i check some of tutorials or java docs and start programming.
Here is something to begin with: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/frame.html
Do not be scared to programm.

I would like to create CMS in JavaEE. I want use graph database. Which graph database is good for this purpose? What do you recommend? I seek free/open source graph database.
I can personally encourage you to use neo4j - http://neo4j.com/. It's new, quite simple, easy to use on Java and has quite good documentation. Although be aware of some minor issues (like an application crashing occasionaly when used heavily).

I'm looking for a Java library to create block diagrams, which might look as in the picture:
So far I couldn't find a satisfying solution. I would be thankful for any suggestions.
Have you tried jGraph yet? It's open source under the BSD license.
There's a Java API for GraphViz. GraphViz is capable of much more than just those block diagrams though, so there might be a learning curve.
