I want to reject call after 1 sec and make notification
But when i make notification then it give syntax error in getSystemService
What can i do
Here is my code for rejecting call and make notification
private String incomingnumber;
#Override
public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) {
String s[] = { "045193117", "800000000" };
Bundle b = intent.getExtras();
incomingnumber = b.getString(TelephonyManager.EXTRA_INCOMING_NUMBER);
try {
TelephonyManager tm = (TelephonyManager) context
.getSystemService(Context.TELEPHONY_SERVICE);
Class c = Class.forName(tm.getClass().getName());
Method m = c.getDeclaredMethod("getITelephony");
m.setAccessible(true);
final com.android.internal.telephony.ITelephony telephonyService = (ITelephony) m
.invoke(tm);
for (int i = 0; i < s.length; i++) {
if (s[i].equals(incomingnumber)) {
Runnable mMyRunnable2 = new Runnable() {
#Override
public void run() {
try {
telephonyService.endCall();
NotificationManager nm= (NotificationManager) getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE);
Notification notify= new Notification(android.R.drawable.ic_lock_idle_low_battery, "Battery Notification",SystemClock.currentThreadTimeMillis());
CharSequence title="Battery Level ";
CharSequence details= "Continue with what you were doing";
Intent intent= new Intent(context, MainActivity.class);
PendingIntent pi= PendingIntent.getSctivity(con, 0, intent, 0);
notify.setLatestEventInfo(con, title, details, pi);
nm.notify(0, notify);
} catch (RemoteException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
};
Handler myHandler = new Handler();
myHandler.postDelayed(mMyRunnable2, 1000);
}
}
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
replace
NotificationManager nm= (NotificationManager) getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE);
with
NotificationManager nm= (NotificationManager) context.getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE);
and make the context parameter as final to access it inner class (here Runnable).
public void onReceive(final Context context,Intent intent) {
//
}
when you say getSystemService() in Runnable, it will look for that method in Runnable implementation class which is actually not.

I am trying to call BroadcastReceiver from intent service but it is never called:

}
Brodcast brodcast;
brodcast = new Brodcast();

registerReceiver(brodcast, intentFilter);

I need to call broadcast every 20 min; can anyone help me?
I need a service to make a notification whenever the user is in a moving car.
I use ActivityRecognition to find out when the user is in a car.the issue is I need my service to run even when the app is destroyed or removed by the user.
I tried running the service on a different process but after a few minutes the service stops working.I also tried using foreground service but I had the same issue with that to.
this is my service class.

Use foreground service instead of normal service and do the below changes

}

You should use Foreground Service if you want service running even your app is in background or closed
https://androidwave.com/foreground-service-android-example/
I've created a service which consult notes if they are in recicle bin, it have to run once a day but with handler I think it will drain too much battery, So I need you help How can I do a task once a day without drain battery or other thing that's not a handler ?
When the app is launched the NotesApplication is created and start the NotesService class, it should be executing all day but it will drain battery, so I need to execute once a day
NotesApplication

Using Alarm Manager is efficient.
See implementation
AlarmManager am=(AlarmManager)context.getSystemService(Context.ALARM_SERVICE);
Intent i= new Intent(context, AlarmManagerBroadcastReceiver.class);
//intent.putExtra(something you want to put);
PendingIntent pi = PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, i, 0);
Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
calendar.setTimeInMillis(System.currentTimeMillis());
// check if it is more than 11 am. if so set alarm for next day
if (Calendar.getInstance().get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY)) {
calendar.add(Calendar.DAY_OF_YEAR, 1);
}
// everyday at 11 am
calendar.set(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY, 9);
calendar.set(Calendar.MINUTE, 0);
calendar.set(Calendar.SECOND, 0);
am.setRepeating(AlarmManager.RTC_WAKEUP, calendar.getTimeInMillis(),
AlarmManager.INTERVAL_DAY, pi);
// alarm set
Finally create a broadcast receiver to do the work you want.
I am trying to make an app in Android Studio which sends a push notification every 15 seconds, using a service. The problem is that the mobiles I tested the code on acted really slowly when a notification pops up. When I use an emulator, it works fine. Does anyone know what makes this code really slow?
Thanks in advance!
MainActivity.java
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
Intent i = new Intent(this, MyService.class);
startService(i);
}
}

public class MyService extends Service {

public void showPushNotification (){
NotificationCompat.Builder pushbericht;

pushbericht = new NotificationCompat.Builder(this);
pushbericht.setAutoCancel(true);
pushbericht.setSmallIcon(R.drawable.icoontje);
pushbericht.setContentTitle("Poll App");
pushbericht.setContentText("Hoi");
Intent intent = new Intent(this, MainActivity.class);
PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT);
pushbericht.setContentIntent(pendingIntent);
NotificationManager nm = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(NOTIFICATION_SERVICE);

Thread thread = new Thread(r);

I'm trying to make a service, that is completely independent from the activity and running all the time in background to send the notification about incoming event. I have solved the problem of service killing along with activity by returning START_STICKY value in onStartCommand. It works well, but then I have problem with sending notifications. The problem is in the setSmallIcon method. When i pass there the reference to R.drawable.ic_launcher, I have got error, which says, that icon == 0. Is there any way to make it work properly?
Here is my NotificationService.java

Try using:
.setSmallIcon(Resources.getSystem().getDrawable(android.R.drawable.ic_delete))
instead of
.setSmallIcon(android.R.drawable.ic_delete)
