I tried to implement Google Play Game Services within my Cocos2d-x project based on the baseGameUtils sample project following this description:
http://www.cocos2d-x.org/forums/6/topics/28296
However, the application crashes within the connect() method of the sample file GameHelper.java calling the method
mGoogleApiClient.connect();
The error occurs within the call of the connect() method of the com.google.android.gms.common.api.GoogleApiClient, since neither the onConnected(Bundle connectionHint) nor the onConnectionFailed(ConnectionResult result) method gets called.
Logcat shows the following messages:
W/ActivityManager( 698): Unable to start service Intent { cmp=com.android.email/.service.AttachmentDownloadService } U=0: not found
W/ActivityManager( 698): mDVFSHelper.acquire()

W/ActivityManager( 698): mDVFSHelper.release()
I/ActivityManager( 698): Process org.cocos2dx.testcpp (pid 493) (adj 0) has died.
I guess, that there is something wrong with my AndroidManifest.xml file, but I can not figure out what`s the problem:

Maybe you need update the lib implementation. I have a template for IOS and Android working with Cocos2d-x and Google Play Game Services.

I have a program with a service and if I reboot my device also the service should Restart. But this only works on the Emulator if I try this on my real device the service doesn't start at all.
Does someone know what I'm doing wrong or why it only works on Emulator?

The emulator is at API 23 and real device is API 27.
I'm Building for a min API Level 23 and max API Level 27
EDIT
Now I have also tried the program with a emulator and android API 27 and there when I start my program and then I restart the emulator, the emulator doesn't start any more. As soon as the emulaor has started he begins to reboot again and that in a endless loop. (Real device starts normal just doesn't restarts service)
try to use LOCKED_BOOT_COMPLETED receiver as follow:
<receiver
android:name=".BootReceiver"
android:directBootAware="true"
android:exported="false">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.LOCKED_BOOT_COMPLETED"/>
<!-- For pre-N devices -->
<action android:name="android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED" />
</intent-filter>
</receiver>
don't forget permission
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED" />
take a look here for more explanation
Now I fixed in on my own it was easier then i thought
public class BootCompletedIntentReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver {
#Override
public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) {
Intent i=new Intent(context, YourClass.class);
if (Build.VERSION.SDK_INT>=Build.VERSION_CODES.O) {
context.startForegroundService(i);
}
else {
context.startService(i);
}
}
I had some weird experience if I don't put full URI,
for example .BootCompletedIntentReceiver would become com.company.BootCompletedIntentRecevier.
I know it sounds dumb but I had many weird regressions when not explicitly stating things on the Manifest with modern SDKs.
I really have very big problem with my project. When my phone is connected to the computer via USB cable, everything works fine, but when the phone is disconnected the app doesn't work as I expected. So, I have already tried with android.os.Debug.waitForDebugger(), I removed the all #SuppressLint("NewApi"), also USB debugger is activated on my phone, but I think the problem can be in the Manifest file. Can someone tell me, what can be done in this case?

I am using the following, handler code. When I put 40000 ms, the app works, but when I put 60000 ms, my application doesn't work if the cable is disconnected.
handler.postDelayed(myRunnable = new Runnable(){
#Override
public void run() {
if(btnToggle.isChecked()){
btnToggle.setChecked(false);
btnToggleTimer.setChecked(false);
}else{
btnToggle.setChecked(true);
btnToggleTimer.setChecked(false);
}
}
}, min*60000);
Most likely you have enabled the "Stay awake"-mode in the Developer options in the settings menu. When you disconnect the phone from the charger it will go into sleep mode after a few seconds.
The solution is to either use a partial wake-lock using the PowerManager or (in the above case) use a PendingIntent and the AlarmManager to trigger a event at a later time.
I am trying to integrate Google Play Services into my application in order to enable achievements. Upon application launch, a login attempt is being made which results in one of the following errors:
There was a problem communicating with Google servers.
Failed to log in. Please check your network connection and try again later.
A̶p̶p̶l̶i̶c̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶c̶r̶a̶s̶h̶e̶s̶
The application is incorrectly configured. Check that the package name and signing certificate match the cliend ID created in Developer console. Also, if the application is not yer published, check that the account you are trying to sign in with is listed as a tester account. See logs for more information.
Logcat displays absolutely no data related to this problem so I don't even have a clue what could be wrong. The app is authenticated correctly, with the correct SHA1 certificate fingerprint and app id copied to manifest. Does anyone have any could what this could be?
Thanks.

I resolved the issue I had by deleting Google+ data related to my previous game login and logging in again. I do not know what caused this error in the first place but it may be due to wrong settings in my Developer Console. I did change some things, like re-authenticated the app but the changes took effect only after deleting old data.
I've successfully created a Parse app and I'm using the application keys in my Android app implementation. I've followed all the steps here https://www.parse.com/apps/quickstart?onboard=#parse_push/android/existing (registration required unfortunately, but it's an instant process) and when I send a test push notification it is dispatched from the dashboard and is even received by a virtual device I'd set up as a control but nothing happens on a physical device. I thought it might be a socket issue so I alternated between wifi and 3G connections with no success
Here's the code I'm using:
Main:
package com.wetu.chronicle;
import android.os.Bundle;
import org.apache.cordova.*;
import com.parse.Parse;
import com.parse.ParseAnalytics;
import com.parse.ParseInstallation;
import com.parse.PushService;
public class chronicle extends DroidGap
{
#Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
{
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
super.loadUrl(Config.getStartUrl());
Parse.initialize(this, "xxxxxxxxx", "yyyyyyyyyyyy");
PushService.setDefaultPushCallback(this, chronicle.class);
PushService.subscribe(this, "Newsfeed", chronicle.class);
ParseInstallation.getCurrentInstallation().saveInBackground();
}
}

I'm available to clarify any questions you might have and/or post additional code.
Its most likely because your app isn't active in the background. A lot of my android apps have been struggling from this. A decent solution might be to make sure there is an alarm clock that wakes the app up. I've never dealt with parse though so this may not work, its worked for me in other scenarios though
Regarding Android bluetooth discovery.
Getting this error from manifest permission error. However, the only errors that I found posted, was that they forgot to put the permission outside the application. This is however not the case here.
The program is tested on a Galaxy S2 running Jelly Bean 4.1.
The error is as follows:
03-19 13:08:03.933: W/dalvikvm(12616): threadid=1: thread exiting with uncaught exception (group=0x413082a0)
03-19 13:08:03.938: E/AndroidRuntime(12616): FATAL EXCEPTION: main

Basically the manifest looks like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.example.motioncontrol"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0" >
<user-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH" />
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion="8"
android:targetSdkVersion="17" />
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:debuggable="true"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme" >
<activity
android:name="com.example.motioncontrol.Main"
android:label="#string/app_name" >
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
<activity
android:name=".AccelerometerDat"
android:label="#string/accelerator_title" />
<activity
android:name=".GyroscopeData" />
<activity
android:name=".Gravitydat" />
<activity
android:name=".Linearacc" />
<activity
android:name=".Bluetooth" />
<activity
android:name=".CheckBluetooth" />
<activity
android:name=".About"
android:label="#string/about_title"
android:theme="#android:style/Theme.Dialog" />
</application>
</manifest>
And the class where the error occurs:
private void doDiscovery() {
if (D) Log.d(TAG, "doDiscovery()");
// Indicate scanning in the title
setProgressBarIndeterminateVisibility(true);
setTitle(R.string.scanning);
Log.d(TAG, "indicates scanning");
// Turn on sub-title for new devices
findViewById(R.id.title_new_devices).setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);
Log.d(TAG, "Set up sub-title for new devices");
// If we're already discovering, stop it
if (mBtAdapter.isDiscovering()) {
mBtAdapter.cancelDiscovery();
Log.i(TAG, "Already running discovering, stop it!");
}
// Request discover from BluetoothAdapter
mBtAdapter.startDiscovery();
Log.d(TAG, "Request discover form BluetoothAdapter");
}
Hope for an answer, what is going wrong :).
Thanks!
Change
<user-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN" />
to
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN" />
<user-permission> is used to regulate the access to the current component by other application. You should try <uses-permission> to get the privilege.
