When I want to start Kettle:
$ cd ../kettle/data-integration

The following error appears:

What's wrong? Can anyone help?Many thanks.
Kettle is currently (5.0) supported using Java 7, please try with JDK or JRE 7
That class should be in the pentaho-xul-core jar located in your lib folder, there's a pretty serious problem with your classpath if it can't be found
Please edit spoon.sh to echo the command it's about to run on the last line (add "echo " at the beginning of the last line, exclude the quotes) and post what it comes out with.

I built a jar file named jar1 using maven.
I am using the above jar in a standalone Java application. When I run this app, I get this error:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/hamcrest/SelfDescribing

Closed 7 years ago.
I have the following folder structure
base directory = "."
build directory (for classes) = "./build/classes"
build directory (for test classes) = "./build/test/classes"
source = "./src"
test = "./test"
test_libraries = "./test_libraries"
everything works fine When I am running the test files with the command
java -cp /usr/share/java/junit4-4.11.jar:build/classes:build/test/classes/ org.junit.runner.JUnitCore myclass.MyClassTest
but when I change the location of the juint file to test_libraries/junit4-4.44.jar
and I run the command
java -cp ./test_libraries/junit4-4.11.jar:build/classes:build/test/classes/ org.junit.runner.JUnitCore myclass.MyClassTest
I get the following errors

You need Hamcrest on your classpath.
You are missing Hamcrest Jar
http://search.maven.org/remotecontent?filepath=org/hamcrest/hamcrest-core/1.3/hamcrest-core-1.3.jar
JUnit depends on Hamcrest for a lot of methods.
When i run command ./runExamples.sh on terminal it throws an exception. I have checked that Java is installed and class path is already set. How to resolve this?

You miss the slf4j.jar in your classpath. download and add it.
I'm trying to run a Java project on Intellij 14 Ultimate, with Maven dependencies. Running the project on Windows and Linux doesn't give the error, but running the project on Mac does.

Why does this error only happen on Mac? All of my config settings for both IntelliJ and the project are the same on every platform.
Thanks in advance.
I wrote a project in NetBeans IDE in my computer, and I ran it. That was OK. I transferred it into my Friend's computer. I ran it with NetBeans, but I got these errors:

It's not the same error. Your friend has an older Java version. Here's how to target older Java versions in NetBeans: Target JDK for Java Applications.
You are running your program incorrectly. You need to do
java friendspro.Server.RunServer -ORBIniti ...
in your main directory (probably bin or src).
On your computer, open CMD, cd to your source directory and then, as Banthar specified,
java friendpro.Server.RunServer ...
