BIRT report viewer exception - java

After a recent server failure and new cluster setup the web app for a BIRT report stopped working. I found that the Tomcat server it was stored on was offline so I started the service and now I get the following error message when trying to view the report:
org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.api.EngineException: An exception occurred during processing. Please see the following message for details:
Cannot open the connection for the driver: org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.
There is an error in get connection, Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.

Everything was working fine before the server failure but now I'm guessing the problem is with the JDBC listener. Does anyone know how to get it running again? There was an OS cluster and a database cluster but it was set up on the database server.
Thanks

You need to set new JDBC connection parameters for your report data sources, since DB host migrated/switched to clustered environment. Old connection parameters are probably pointing to old environment setup. Check out port connectivity to database using telnet.

No ManagedConnections available

we have started facing a very strange issue recently on production, this issue occurs only on Monday's between 8:30AM t0 9:30 AM
The inUseConnections count goes to become 20 in no time and application hangs and we have to flush the connections to get it back to working.
the error seen in the logs is:

Could you please help me understand what could be the reason behind this and how can this be resolved.
Thanks in advance.
Note: we haven't seen this issue before in our application, it was working fine for many years, all the connections in the application are being closed properly.
Well, its hard to point the exact reason without knowing your business flows.
I think that if you're running out of available connections, obviously someone consumes them.
In general it can be:
Option 1:
The same code, called simultaneously. For example, in the provided stack trace I see:
com.baad.merc.service.proposal.impl.ProposalServiceImpl.retrieveProposalSummary(ProposalServiceImpl.java:1050)
I would check that, by placing some counter/metric. Since you're using AOP, it shouldn't be hard to implement as an aspect or something.
Option 2:
There are just too many users using your application at that period of time, so they run their requests. This also can be tracked like this: when you reach, say, 19 connections (again you can use counter for measuring that) - just create a thread dump programmatically and store it in some place on the filesystem. So you'll be able to track the flow that actually caused this situation.
Similarly it can be even some internal activity, for instance a scheduled job or something.

Below I have mentioned the procedures that I have followed to deploy the report.
(Followed this documentation http://www.eclipse.org/birt/documentation/integrating/viewer-setup.php
)
Created a report using eclipse and when I run this report I can see the output.
I copied .rptdesign file to "Report" folder in birt-viewer
Copied "mysql-connector-java-5.1.33-bin.jar" and "aspectj-1.8.2.jar" to WEB-INF/lib folder in birt-viewer
Then used the following url to run the report http://localhost:8080/birt-viewer/run?__report=Report\new_report.rptdesign
When I run this url im getting the above error. Please help with this.
It seems you make use of Java 8, i am not sure if this is officially supported by BIRT yet. You should try the same with Java 7. Otherwise put aspect*.jar file in the lib folder of your JRE install.
By the way, with an application server such Tomcat the recommended approach to connect reports to databases is connection pooling rather than a direct JDBC access. Defining a connection pool in birt reports and in Tomcat is straight and easy, see an article here.

java.net.SocketException when sending a heavy request on server

I'm facing socket write exception whenever I try to send a heavy request on Jboss server. Our server is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 datacenter. Searched a lot about it but I'm unable to find anything regarding this issue.
I have run the same issue on local server on my Windows 7 machine but it doesn't reproduce at all but whenever I run it on Windows Server 2008 machine it reproduce after 4 to 5 hits of request.
Following is the stack trace of the exception:

Your HTTP client disconnected.
There could have more reason for the same
Responding to the request took too long, the client gave up
You responded with something the client did not understand
The end-user actually cancelled the request
A network error occurred
.. and more.
You need to debug and identify the reason. Its difficult to pinpoint the reason with your information.

Connection Exception between systems

This question has been asked many times and I followed the solutions but didn't work.
I am getting
java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 10.155.1.232; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
tried to telnet from my system to 10.155.1.232 1099 port..I am able to telnet means there is no port issue
also tried to telnet viceversa on port 8090 of my tomcat, again its working
There is no firewall on my system.
Do I need to check if the rmi registry is already running on 10.155.1.232?
How to check if rmiregistry is working in windows system from cmd?
So Please guide me what can be the issue

If you can see rmiregistry.exe from Task Manager you are fine. But I think you are missing security policy.

connection proxy error in hibernate

While we get connection through hibernate we arise an error connection proxy error while we are using multiple connection's

I faced the exception in a more tricky use case with hibernate 3.2.7/Spring 3.0.5 and ope-session-in-view filter. Presumably because of detached entity that was passed as param to a new thread and was updated in a separate transaction.
Our system encounter this exception days ago. I tracked the BorrowedConnectionProxy.java and found this issue was caused by closing connection before hibernate use it:
We used Session.connection() to acquire the connection parasitized in session and closed it manaually. Under this circumstance the exception would be throwed out while any db-related methods on Session were invoked.
So please check and ensure a valid connection(in right status) is acquired by hibernate/session. Hope this is effective in your case.
