Selected text alignment for Android spinner - java

I am trying to align selected text of a Spinner in Android. It should align to the matching indentation of the other TextView and EditText in the layout.

In your code you can set the custom Layout for spinner as
MyAdapter myAdapter = new MyAdapter(this, R.layout.spinnerinflate,
arraylist);
spinner.setAdapter(myAdapter);
You can use SimpleAdapter as well if you don't need to have your own adapter as below
ArrayAdapter<String> simpleadapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(YourActivityName.this, R.layout.spinnerinflate, getResources().getStringArray(R.array.yourarray));
spinner.setAdapter(simpleadapter);
By this inflate you can do whatever formatting you want. Please let me know if it helps.

Issue with trying to get an EditText, because of a casting issue

I'm working on a gallery type app. The issue that I have at the moment is trying to fetch the typed text within an EditText. The error that I am getting is a casting exception because the code fetches the EditText block from the layout as a TextView block. This only occurs after I swipe, which causes the some of the LinearLayouts imbeded in the second GridLayout to be removed.
The LinearLayouts are put in at runtime into the Gridlayout (with the id product_details), the amount Layouts is calculated according to which picture is pressed on.
This part of the code fetches the current LinearLayouts that are imbeded in the GridLayout:

I'm not sure where the casting exception is caused or why exactly it happened. If anyone is able to help, I would appreciate it a lot! Thanks in advance!
Instead of getting the view by position getting it by id would be easier.
EditText editTextQ = (EditText) linearLayout.getChildAt(2);
EditText editTextC = (EditText) linearLayout.getChildAt(4);
Try this instead:
EditText editTextQ = (EditText) linearLayout.findViewById(R.id.editText1);
EditText editTextC = (EditText) linearLayout.findViewById(R.id.editTextComments);
This will be better because if change the xml, it could change view positions, and find views by id you wouldn't need to change the code.

Changing Text of CardsUI views

So im using this awesome Cards library (CardsUI) and trying to figure out how to insert my own text into these views grammatically. Im my main activity im parsing JSON data, now i want to use data from the JSON and insert the text into the Cards. Here is some code i have so far.

I know this question was posted a while ago, but I'm just now using the CardUI and I've got it to work. I don't know what R.id.activity_hello_enlighten contains, but if you look at the example provided with their source, the layout from your activity should be using a CardUI component.
Code from the example layout:

Otherwise there's nothing actually doing your card rendering to the screen.
Once you do this, get a pointer to the CardUI referenced by your layout (in the example code it's called cardsview) with the following code:
mCardView = (CardUI) findViewById(R.id.cardsview);
After that, it's as simple as adding a new card like this:
mCardView.addCardToLastStack(new MyCard("Your card's text!"));

Dynamically adding TextView to ScrollView on Android

I try to make a ScrollView to act like a ListView. So every row will be a TextView added dynamically. but the program crashes. I have a ScrollView inside a LinearLayout. What i do wrong? Thanks.

A scrollView Can only have one child. If you try to add more than 1 child to the scroll view then it will crash. You should have the LinearLayout inside of the scrollview and then dynamically add textViews to the linear layout.
You are trying to add LinearLayout1 as its own child's child (being your own grandfather, is a confusing notion).
Change you XML around like this:

You cannot add views to a scrollview. You can only add them to a viewgroup, like linear or relativelayout.
It is not exactly clear what you are trying to achieve, but what is wrong with using a listview for this? You could set a max height on the listview. Or you could try wdziemia's suggestion

How to add fixed buttons above a ListView android?

I want to have two buttons top of a listview. If I scroll below the listview I want that the buttons stay at top. I searched through many solutions on stackoverflow however I could not find the exact one for my case.

however when this activity is called from my other activity my app unfortunately closed. LogCat says:
Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is 'android.R.id.list'
But I try adding lv = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.mylist); instead of this.lv = getListView();. I could not solve this issue.
I am aware of ListView#addHeaderView but I want to solve my particular problem with using this kind of layout.
Just change your listview id to android:id="#android:id/list"
Use a RelativeLayout. Place the second button to the right of the first button using layout_toRightOf then place the listview beneath button one using layout_below. Something like this (I haven't tested it, apologies for any typos)

Create FrameLayout with [your ListView] and [LinearLayout with your buttons].
Do once something like this within onCreate()
LinearLayout myButtons = ...;
myButtons.bringToFront();
So, your ContentView will have a FrameLayout with two child, one of those is in foreground.

Using two listViews in one activity

I have made a list view containing two childs. Now i am trying to append a series of children to each of these two childs.
I am using following procedure.

adapter = new CustomArrayAdapterOfMainList(this, dummyChar);

In the custom adapter i am using following code.

This will stack two listviews and force them to take up half of their parent each.
