No idea whats going on and how its happening, cause when I do the same in my local box, I dont see any errors! My assumption is,using java 7 to build in local and using Java 8 in linux.
Is that whats happening or I am missing something else?
This issue occured to me because i didn't provide path in Deployement option in properties of project:
Right click on project ---> select "properties" --> Deployement assembly --> "ADD" option -->
select "java build path entries" --> select path
what is the Spring version? I think there is some issue with Spring 3 and Java 8.
If you are using Spring 3 change it to Spring 4 build and deploy using Java 8
or
Downgrade Java to 7 and use spring 3!

Things i tried already:
1. I added jar in my /WEB-INF/lib/ folder.
2. Changed the java version from 1.5 to 1.8 because with spring 3.2.0 version java v.7 or v.8 is compatible.
3. Clean and update the project multiple time after doing multiple changes in web.xml
4. Deleted my m2 folder generated by maven for the dependencies and build the project again.
5. I also debugged my code and the path where error occurred is as:
ClassPathScanningCandidateComponentProvider->getMetadataReader(resource)-> super.getMetadataReader(resource)(class: CachingMetadataReader). metadatareader is coming null in my case. I am not sure of it what should its value be.

As a summary, seems that you had resolved the issue which might be caused by not automatically loading the added jar files on Tomcat via Eclipse. The solution is that as below.
Move to the Properties > Deployment Assembly of the current project, and check whether the dependencies exists there as Build Path entries or Archives.
Select the current project, and click Project > Clean at the menu bar, then restart the server.

I use jre7 although I have imported jre6 and jre8 to my project too. I have imported java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException class in my code. I don't understand what is happened in this case. Is how if my project not found java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException class. Thanks ahead of time.
