Spring Data Neo4j repository Invocation of init method failed - java

I have a Spring Data Neo4j project which is going to be a data access object consumed by Spring MVC.
I simply wish to have the unit tests run against an in-memory database whilst in production it must connect to a remote server.
Apparently, according to the answer of another question I asked, remote server access is only available in Spring Data Neo4j 4.0.0.M1 but as this is a moving target things keep breaking.
In order to get it to at least compile I am using 4.0.0.BUILD-SNAPSHOT
When running my tests I am now getting the following:

I have even tried to follow this project https://github.com/neo4j-examples/neo4j-ogm-university but even that fails to build. Am I going about this the wrong way? Surely something this simple shouldn't be taking me the weeks of effort that I seem to be wasting on this.

The InProcessServer is still available. See SDN 4 - InProcessServer broken in snapshot build which lists the additional dependencies to be added when you're working with RC1 or the snapshot build.

The error using ./gradlew bootRun is similar since the application context never loads. Really confused as this was supposed to be a no-brainer intro exercise. The original exercise is a maven build, so I am not sure if that makes any difference here.
Super stuck....
With the help of #Rcordoval and this post I was able to resolve the issues with both the test and the failure of the bootRun task.
I needed to address what autoconfigure is attempting. This also is trying to configure a jdbc DB. So I had to update the driver class as with a couple imports and a new annotation to exclude trying to configure the DB.

Finally, the linked post pointed me to the last issue of the bootRun task. I simply removed the version from the build.gradle for spring-boot-devtools dependency. Now the application boots in tomcat and tests pass.

This is my first time writing JUnit tests, so I don't know if you super-kind guys need extra information. If so, I would be glad to provide them :)
You need to use #WebAppConfiguration annotation in your test class. Here is what the documentation states:
#WebAppConfiguration A class-level annotation that is used to declare
that the ApplicationContext loaded for an integration test should be a
WebApplicationContext. The mere presence of #WebAppConfiguration on a
test class ensures that a WebApplicationContext will be loaded for the
test, using the default value of "file:src/main/webapp" for the path
to the root of the web application (i.e., the resource base path). The
resource base path is used behind the scenes to create a
MockServletContext which serves as the ServletContext for the test’s
WebApplicationContext.
This works with provided scope of javax.servlet-api.
Besides, you can't use #EnableWebMvc in the configuration class you use for testing. Best if you create a separate configuration class that will be only used for testing, without #EnableWebMvc. You can check out this discussion: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: A ServletContext is required to configure default servlet handling
Its dues to the value of the scope (provided) you have declared here. Try modifying it to test and it shall work well. But its recommended to keep provided since this jar file is provided by the servlet container by default.

how to test DAO Implementations methods in spring mvc with java configuration classes and no XML using jUnit

i found the solution since my MvcConfig class have a #EnableWebMvc annotation

i needed to add this annotation to my test class #WebAppConfiguration and change the loader value from AnnotationConfigContextLoader to this AnnotationConfigWebContextLoader like this:

Spring JUnit Mockito unit test controller Specified class is an interface

I want to write unit test for simply spring controller.
Everything works - controller, views and model is ok, because when i deploy it on my local tomcat it does exactly what i want. But there is one problem. I try to write unit test for it (I use this tutorial:

I tried everything and still it doesn't work.

I found that the reason could be that i have providedCompile javaee in my build.gradle and when i run the test it is not available, but i don't know how can i fix it. Thank for any help :)

The reason for this is that you have imported the org.springframework.test.context.TestContext interface. My tutorial uses TestContext class (I should have named it a bit better to avoid this).
The source code of the TestContext class looks as follows:

Just add this class to your project and import it instead of the TestContext interface. You might want to rename it thought to avoid this from happening again.
Also, you might want to consider using the standalone configuration because this way you don’t have to configure the required mock objects as beans. The application context based setup becomes painful when you have a lot of mock objects because you have to remember to configure them in your application context configuration class.
If you use standalone configuration, you don’t have to worry about this because you can configure the required mock objects in the test class.
