I tried to start a java enterprise application (running on JBoss 4.3) on Solaris 5.10 using JDK 1.8u51. Unfortunately I get the following exception from the jdbc driver:
java.nio.charset.UnsupportedCharsetException: IS646-US
Does anyone know what's up with that? It all works without problems on JDK 1.7u65
Here's the stacktrace:

It looks like a typo, it should be ISO646-US (better known as ASCII or US-ASCII).
Likely cause is that you are running with a -Dfile.encoding=IS646-US (or similar), for example explicitly in the startup configuration of the application server.

Anybody knows how to configure font location in AWS Lambda running under Corretto 8? The Amz

missing fontconfig.properties by putting them in /opt/libs and set env var -
Dsun.awt.fontconfig. Now it's not finding the fonts even thought I've tried to put them in
several places.

I have a problem with the newest version of macOS (BigSur 11.0.1) and the library PC/SC; before BigSur the program the uses the library worked fine but after the update isn't working anymore. I am using the java version 1.8.0_271
In the code, I use the method TerminalFactory.getDefaultType() to get the default type of Terminal Factory. Before the update I was receiving "PC/SC" but after the update I am receiving None.
If I want force to connect to an instance with this line
TerminalFactory factory = TerminalFactory.getInstance("PC/SC", null);
It will return the following error:

I found that Big Sur eliminates the library PC/SC and it is no possible to install it.
I don´t know if there is someone with the same error or someone that has already fix it.
Thanks for the help.
Because of the changes in macOS Big Sur, Java PC/SC implementation no longer works correctly:
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8255877
The workaround is to set the system property:
sun.security.smartcardio.library=/System/Library/Frameworks/PCSC.framework/Versions/Current/PCSC
before trying to use TerminalFactory.
I'm trying to create a web application in NetBeans 8.2, for this I try to use Apache Tomcat 8.0.27 which is integrated into this version. Previously I worked with Tomcat and Netbeans without any problem but in one occasion it failed.
I tried to modify environment variables in addition to reinstalling NetBeans with all its components but it did not work. I looked for information in other questions but I didn't find anything useful, possibly some file is corrupted but if it were the case, I would like to know how to solve it with a simple and understandable explanation, in some forums I read about how to find corrupted files and solve some things but they are not so clear to me.
Specs:
- Windows
- Netbeans 8.2
- Tomcat 8.0.27
- JDK & JDR 1.8.0.191

I would expect Tomcat to deploy without any problem but instead it is simply not deployed, sending the error every time.
Update: I installed the same NetBeans but in other computer AND it worked. I copyied the files of Tomcat and NetBeans but the error still (So, theres no a problem related to corrupted .jars i think). The project that im using to test it's a basic HTML page... A default Java web project.
This problem in most part of times is a Exception of corrupted jars.
Are you trying to connect to any database? If yes, try to remove .jar file from lib folder on WebContent and copy the file from your computer directory to your folder on IDE and try again. If no, try to do this procedure to all of .jars that you're using on your project and replace them all again.
I am trying to run a JavaFX application (originally developed with OracleJDK 8) on OpenJDK 8.
According to this comparison table, the Azul Zulu JDK and the Amazon Corretto JDK do include JavaFX/OpenJFX support.
However, when starting the application, I get the following exception (same in both Zulu 8.40.0.25 and Corretto 8.222.10.3; OS is Windows 7 64-bit):

After that, the application seems to run normally, so I am unsure if there is a problem or not.
This thread suggests that the issue is related to the getHostServices() method and has been fixed.
I also found this (older) discussion indicating that this is not an error and the exception should not be visible on the console.
Can anyone confirm that the exception can be safely ignored?
Does anyone know whether the mentioned fix has been or will eventually be included in the Zulu and/or Corretto builds?

I use ubuntu 10.4. 64 bit machine.
Looks like there is no way to run mobile emulator on x64-jdk (in linux), so you additionaly need to install x32-jdk to compile and run your ME-projects with it.
Usually this error means a mismatch in the java runtime. Are you running your code in 64 bit java runtime. ( I guess you downloaded Netbeans for 64bit linux)
