I am using apache CXF3.0.4 for consuming a web service from my java application, I have included all the required jars files , but I am getting below issue while using weblogic, but its working fine if I am using tomcat.

Looks like you miss the cxf-api.jar in weblogic, which is in your tomcat classpath.
So remove the jat from your tomcat classpath and remove the scope provided from your pom:

I think that the problem is that the missing class is contained in the cxf-api-2.2.3.jar which is marked as provided in your pom.

When creating web application, we use maven to get all jars. Here when i'm tried to create a maven web application with spring version 4.3.7 and spring security 4.2.2. I need to use couple of other jars like hibernate, log4j, apache tiles, itext, java mail, apache poi, json-simple and some common jars used in web application like common fileupload etc.

if you want to use JBoss 7.1.1 you need to run this project on jdk1.7 and Spring 3.1.2 if you are use above version of jdk and spring, it will occur errors. so. if you want to run latest version of spring and jdk you need to use latest version of Jboss.

How to update neo4j from 2.1.5 to 2.2.3 in Spring?

I needed to update my neo4j community from version 2.1.5 to version 2.2.3 to use it's new features.
I worked with it and create database in it.

I had the same problem and i SOLVED it updating the jcl-over-slf4j jar file.
I'm using 1.7.5 version and it succesfully deploys.

This issue has been bugging me for some time and it appears to catch quite a number of people.(See here also) Fresh install of STS, download latest MVC template, builds OK, won't run because of this SLF4J issue.
This issue appears to be incompatibilities between slf4j libraries and dependencies that are used by maven.
The easy solution (here) is to edit the pom and remove the exclusion for commons-logging, and then delete the dependencies for slf4j. Spring drops back to commons logging when slf4j is not available.
The harder solution I gave up on and that is to track down which versions work with the current shipping STS(3.1) and ensure that the template works with the correct versions.
I hope this post assists others who have tried the template and cannot get it to run out of the box as it should.

There is some version conflict between some commons logging lib and one of the slf4j libs.
(This is not a maven problem, it is a problem that occures if you maintain the libs by hand too.)
Open the maven pom with eclipse. There is a Tab called "hirarchy" it will show the used and required versions. Try to use a cobination of the logging liaries that does not have so much conflicts.
I have had a look at your pom. The problem is the jcl-over-slf4j-1.5.8.jar it CONTAINS some org.apache.commons.loggin jars that are not compatible to slf4j 1.6.6.
jcl-over-slf4j-1.5.8.jar is referenced by org.jasig.cas
What I would try is to replace the jcl-over-slf4j-1.5.8.jar with jcl-over-slf4j-1.6.6.jar

But I do not know cas-server-core 3.5.0 is compatible with jcl-over-slf4j-1.6.6.jar. But in most cases the "outer" API of an logging framework is more stable then the "inner" API that is used by the logging Bridges. -- So good luck.

spring-hibernate3 with hibernate-core-4.1.2

I want to set open session in view pattern controlled by Spring. I am using Hibernate 4.1.2. Now if I add spring-hibernate3 in pom.xml eventually it add its dependency hibernate-3.2.5.ga. I think I can not have these two hibernates at a time.
If I want to use spring-hibernate3 should I remove the hibernate-core-4.1.2.jar?

Yes, if you remove the hibernate-core 4.1.2 dependency from your pom.xml file, you'll only have the hibernate3 jar in your classpath.
But since spring-hibernate seems to be pretty old (from the Spring point of view, the latest is 2.0.8 version and lastest Spring Core is 3.1.1)
But I think you can use the open session in view pattern with your current setup, since spring-orm-3.1.1 supports Hibernate4; take a look at http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.1.x/javadoc-api/org/springframework/orm/hibernate4/support/package-summary.html.

I am using jackson converter (MappingJacksonHttpMessageConverter) to consume and produce json data from spring controller. But while invoking controller throws following exception.

I can see in spring-web pom file jackson version is mentioned as 1.4.2 and same I have used still it is throwing exception regarding method not found. Am I using correct version?

You seem to be missing the jackson-core dependency. You need that as well as jackson-mapper.
The 1.4.x version should be fine, although it shouldn't hurt to upgrade it to something more recent.

I think you have differing versions between Jackson core and mapper jars (former has streaming parser/generator; latter data binding). It is hard to ensure that transitive dependencies have compatible versions -- while multiple Jackson versions work just fine with Spring (and most other frameworks), versions of mapper and core have bit stricter dependencies.
Specifically: version of core should not be much older than version of mapper, as newer mapper versions depend on new features in core. Reverse matters less; so it is generally fine to have older mapper version, newer core (core also changes at much slower pace at this point).

I found the problem.
Use Jacson version 1.4.2 should not have problem and as StaxMan suggested core is dependably for mapper so it will be automatically resolved no need to declare it explicitly.
Now coming back to problem. It is classpath issue within jboss. I have two web application deployed in same server one with dependency on jacson versioin 1.1.1 and other one with 1.4.2. I dont yet have solution, So I have posted another question related to Jboss.

Looks like you miss the cxf-api.jar in weblogic, which is in your tomcat classpath. So remove the jat from your tomcat classpath and remove the scope provided from your pom: <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.cxf</groupId> <artifactId>cxf-api</artifactId> <version>2.2.3</version> </dependency>

I think that the problem is that the missing class is contained in the cxf-api-2.2.3.jar which is marked as provided in your pom. This means that this jar is there under Tomcat but it is not under weblogic. Simply remove the provided form the scope of your dependency.
