Currently I am passing command line arguments to invoke a Program. I am showing a small code snippet for your reference.
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
GlobalVariable.activity = args[0];
GlobalVariable.templatePath = args[1];
....
}
To invoke the above program, I pass the following command from Eclipse.
Now, I am trying to develop an eclipse plugin that invoke this command from Java Program itself. To develop a plugin, I have done the following:
Eclipse (New -> Project -> Eclipse Plugin Project ) with a project name "org.example.helloworld"
I have chosen "Plug-in with a pop-up menu" template.
Now, I have written the following code in "NewAction.java" to pass the command line parameters to my main file, as shown above".
public void run(IAction action) {
String args[] = new String[2];
args[0] = "compile-vocab-spec";
args[1] = "C:\\Template\\";
try {
Main.main(args);
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
My problem is - I am not able to invoke the Main.java file. What is the wrong with this techniques? any other alternatives are also welcomed please. Please let me know in case you need more information for further clarity.
I see the following messages on Console when I run the code.

The jars required in your plugin must be listed in the MANIFEST.MF in the Bundle-Classpath entry.
To do this open the MANIFEST.MF editor, on the 'Runtime' tab add the jars to the 'Classpath' section.
The result might look something like:
The '.' entry is for the plugin files, I then have 3 jars in a 'lib' folder.
Also make sure the jars are listed in the 'build.properties' file so that they are included in the final plugin jar.

Newly, I've installed an application named Afra (https://rebeca-lang.org/alltools/Afra) which it seems have been developed based on Eclipse. When I'm going to run it won't start and errors below appear in the log file :
(for more information, I use a 64-bit version of windows 10 plus java 10)

This looks very much like Afra is based on an older Eclipse platform, and it is caused by using Java 10 instead of Java 8 to run it.
You can do one of the following:
Add Java 8 (64-bit) to the Afra installation, e.g. by download this ZIP file, create the subfolder jre in the Afra installation directory and extract the ZIP into it, so that <Afra-installation-dir>\jre\bin\java.exe exists
Install Java 8 (64-bit) into your system and make sure that Afra runs with it, e.g. by download a Java 8 (64-bit) JDK or JRE from e.g. AdoptOpenJDK.net, install it and in the case it is not used to run Afra, edit the *.ini file of Afra
When I installed NetBeans and ran it for the first time, it told me that NetBeans cannot run on the default openJDK on Kali Linux. So I downloaded and installed JDK32bit from Oracle, and since then it has failed to start. However, when I ran it in the terminal I got this stacktrace. So I thought maybe NetBeans 64bit cannot run on 32bit JDK, so I installed 64bit JDK also, but I am still getting the same problems.

I have some problems getting JUnit plug-in tests to work using Eclipse Neon M7 and I'd really like input from anybody out there who uses tests (there has to be somebody, right?).
Whenever I start a test that works in Eclipse Luna (but didn't in Mars, which I assumed was a bug) and continues to work using Tycho I get the following exception:

Clearly it's not a Eclipse bug at this point, but I'm doing something wrong. There is no indication what kind of plug-ins are started in the test, but judging from the version ranges I assume it's the wrong ones again - the plug-ins of the running Eclipse instance instead of the plug-ins defined in the workspace's target platform.
Still the launch configuration claims the later target platform is used.
How do I configure a plug-in unit test so that it will take the currently active target platform?
The problem here is that Eclipse 4.4 (Luna, 2014) and below had a version of org.eclipse.core.runtime that was compatible with the host Eclipse version of org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime. That changed with 4.5 when the dependency increased.
As you have correctly concluded that the configuration is pointing at the wrong org.eclipse.pde.junit.runtime. This is probably due to uncleared configuration state. Ensure that the configuration is being cleared, so you don't run with a stale version. That is ensure that Clear the configuration area before launching is checked in the Configuration tab of launch configuration.
You can see exactly what PDE has resolved as the configured bundles by looking at ${workspace_loc}/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.pde.core/pde-junit/org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator/bundles.info (location specified in Configuration tab of launch configuration)
I tried couple of answer to fix eclipse start-up problem.
I tried
eclipse.exe -clean didn't work.
eclipse.exe -clean -data C:\prectice\java\ didn't work
eclipse.exe -clean --lanuncher.ini elipse.ini didn't work.
Here is the error:-
An error has occurred. See the log file
C:\app\eclipse\configuration\1361558300022.log.
I have no clue how to launch eclipse. Please just me how can I fix it. Thanks in advnace!

This is also solved by creating a bat file for and blanking out the environment variables prior to launching the application, see the link for solution.

Thanks a lot to addie. You give me the clue about QTP. Actually I had QTP. It was ok together with QTP. But when I tried to uninstall qtp, it was not successful and left some file. So I find all files that comes with qtp and delete them manually. After removing all files, eclipse start normally.
I have installed SpringSource Tool Suite (STS) version 3. I created two Maven projects: a console application and a web Maven application. I tried to open Main.java in Eclipse, but without success.
I tried to restart STS, but receive this error:

I suppose that I need to clear some cache. Is that correct? Where is it?
Perhaps you could solve it starting Eclipse with the -clean option
How to run eclipse in clean mode? and what happens if we do so?
