springboot2.7.5 start error Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/slf4j/impl/StaticLoggerBinder

I introduced the spring-boot-starter-web, used its own spring-boot-starter-logging framework, specified the configuration file in yaml, and reported startup errors

i have import slf4j 2.0.3 derect in the pom,but it doesn't work

SLF4J drastically changed the way its implementations are found between versions 1.x and 2.x. In 1.x, the binding class needed to provide a class named org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder - the class that's missing. In 2.x it uses the ServiceLoader mechanism.
Spring Boot currently still uses SLF4J 1.7.36, through spring-boot-starter-web -> spring-boot-starter -> spring-boot-starter-logging. The latter depends on some SLF4J bridges, as well as logback-classic which in turn depends on SLF4J 1.7.32. I think that the 1.7.36 "wins" over the 1.7.32.
Unless one of your other dependencies has a transitive dependency on SLF4J 2.x, everything should work just fine. If you do, then you have a mix of SLF4J 1.x and 2.x, and that's simply not going to work. Replace the 2.x dependency with a 1.x dependency and you should be fine (unless you use the fluent API that was added in 2.x).

IntelliJ Junit5 Tests are not discoverable

When I am running Junit Tests, Tests are failing with below errors.

I am using java version 17 and this project is submodule project of a multi module java project running in intellij.
I have tried upgrading junit dependency and lower down my java version.

Replace junit-jupiter-engine with junit-jupiter.
junit-juper-engine is only a part of junit-jupiter and does not pull the everything which is relevant to run JUnit 5.

For me problem were in pom file (in spring boot 2 project),
when I used a parent spring boot in version 2.1.9 which under the hood uses spring-core in version 5.1.10.RELEASE

removing it resolved problem

I was getting the similar error in my Gradle project(might be a problem with Maven too) when I was trying to upgrade my Spring Boot version to latest one.
A quick gradle clean solved that problem for me.

Usually, this Filter class can be found in embedded tomcat jar.
So please make sure that your application (jar) contains this file:
Open up the Jar file of the compiled spring boot application and check whether the jar named like tomcat-embed-core resides in the BOOT-INF\lib folder.
This answer is valid as long as you're running tomcat of course + use JAR artifact for spring boot application (for WAR the folder is different, probably WEB-INF/lib although I've never worked with WARs of Spring Boot application so I might be wrong here)

Unable to connect to Elastic Search

In java NoSuchMethodError usually tells that you have multiple instances of same library (or sometime you have only one, but it's a wrong one).
If I were you I would:
check maven tree with mvn dependency:tree -Dverbose. In the tree you going to see 2 instances of same library (probably 2 different versions). You need to manually exclude a dependency in pom.xml from the entry that has this lib as a dependency. Well, sometime extra lib can come from a server (e.g. glassfish) instead of maven, in that case check below.
Put a breakpoint to NettyRuntime.java:44, connect in a debug mode and when you hit it, evaluate the path of wrong library. To evaluate the path you need to ask a classLoader where the lirary is located. You can do this, evaluate code in debug mode*. (io.netty.util.internal.ObjectUtil class.getClassLoader()).getResource("io.netty.util.internal.ObjectUtil.class")) this will provide you a path to a library, from that point you would know what you need to exclude and where it came from
*Evaluate code or Evaluate expression is an option that should be available in debug mode in your IDE (Eclipse/Jetbrains/Netbeans or w/e you use, should support it)

I have this in the pom.xml

Seems you are using the wrong dependency. Try the following:

The artifact has been already moved from javax.mail >> javax.mail-api.

After adding this dependency, then do these steps:
Go to Project Menu >> Activate Build Automatically Option >> Then Click on Clean Option there.
After that, do Maven Clean and Maven Install.
Delete the war and the extracted war folder from tomcat/webapps and redeploy the war again.
Through this, the problem may be solved.

You should not have a need to add the mail api's to your classpath, since spring will include them transitively (given you are using spring-boot).
In case you are using spring-framework without boot, you can (as suggested in the documentation), also ensure the JavaMail library (com.sun.mail:javax.mail) is on the classpath.

There is a requirement for some jars according to Spring 4 docs in order to make it work. You are probably missing some of them.
The following additional jars to be on the classpath of your application in order to be able to use the Spring Framework’s email library.
The JavaMail mail.jar library
The JAF activation.jar library
All of these libraries are freely available on the web.
Or there might be something with Maven. Sometimes it helps if you remove .m2 folder and then run mvn install on your project to download all the dependencies with the right versions.
