Today I'm first starting Android Development, so I installed the Android studio, and booted it up starting a Blank Activity template. When I opened up the .xml file to look at what the screen would look like I got this error
Rendering Issue:
The following classes could not be instantiated: - android.support.design.widget.FloatingActionButton (Open Class, Show Exception, Clear Cache)
Tip: Use View.isInEditMode() in your custom views to skip code or show sample data when shown in the IDE
This is my content_main.xml file:

Also note I have not changed any line of code and I have the Android 6.0 sdk API:23 installed and I'm targeting API:21

Ok, so I have an activity and a fragment. In my activity there is a NavigationDrawer and and card view. I would like to click the menu item to go to Fragment. This works -partially. It loads the fragment - but instead of replacing the content inside activity it loads both cardview and fragment. How do I resolve this? Below is my code:

You can try setting the cardView visibility to View.GONE after you load the fragment.
EDIT
Try hiding the parent linear layout of the cardview instead of the cardview itself, the one that doesnt have an ID
Because the class is somewhat old, and the IDE changed so much, i'm struggling a bit trying to do the same steps of the class.
I have created my Intent and i can send it by clicking on the ListView Item. Then it switches activities from the MainActivity to the DetailActivity. Yet when the DetailActivity is displayed (using DetailActivityFragment) the toolbar disappears. I compared XML's and made some improvements but now the toolbar isn't populated like the previous toolbar. The activity also "fills" the notification bar (the bar that extends to the drawer).
Question is, what am I doing wrong and what can i do to replicate the MainActivity toolbar to the new DetailActivity?

MainActivity
DetailActivity Where the bug happens
I am following the Android Development tutorials on Udacity and I have came across a problem in the app that I can't seem to work out how to fix.
I have created the new activity, and the Intent works perfectly fine in loading the new activity, the only problem is that when the second activity loads there is no actionbar that loads. Any Ideas?

Should add Toolbar into the second activity's layout, and
Toolbar toolbar = (Toolbar) findViewById(R.id.toolbar);
setSupportActionBar(toolbar);

probably you have a conflict with the support libraries.
if your project has defined the support library appcompat_v7
then delete the android-supportv4.jar library inside your libs folder.
Other cause will be the build target, set your build target to 20, delete the errors and try again.
I am implementing a simple page similar to any other app, a 'header image' and content below.
I've placed a wedhead.png file manually into all the drawable folders that I want to display.
The layout I wish to implement displays correctly on the graphical editor, but not on the emulator. The emulator comes out blank. Emulator is ARM CPU based.
