Discrete event simulation (java) - java

I have two classes, Neuron and Synapse( synapse has sub classes primary, secondary). When a Neuron's voltage exceeds its threshold it fires but also sends an impulse to all Synapses. I created a method which creates an event when voltage > threshold. My Question is: how to I create an event to trigger an event of an object from another class? ( the code I have gives an error: not an enclosing class ) If needed I can post my code.

Signature generation with OpenSC Smart Card

I have Escrypt Smart Card to sign data bytes and get signature and certificate for it.
I have java tool to do it and everything was fine until Java 8. Now application migrated to Java 11. And problem start from here.
SunPKCS11.jar/ library is not a part of Java 11, hence application breaks.
I tried with different solution available over internet and oracle release notes, it suggest to use java.security package for cryptographic operation.
I am not able to switch from Java 8 to java 11, any support would be really useful.
Edit-1: Minimum usable code
Signature calculator is used to parse signature
It is written with Java 8 & SunPKCS11.jar want to migrate it to Java 11

Thank You!
Java 9 up no longer puts the standard-library in jar files (rt.jar, etc) but they are still there. Your problem is probably (though I didn't read through all the code and certainly can't test without your hardware) that Java 9 up also introduces modules. Much as in Java forever your code can reference another class or interface (or static member therof) by its simple name only if you import it or it is in the same package as your code (if any) or the special package java.lang, now in 9 up you can only access a package if it is in the same module as your code or the special java.base module or your module and/or the other module explicitly allow the access; the explicit specification closet to older Java is an 'open'.
Thus the quick solution is to add to your java command (explicitly or via _JAVA_OPTS or equivalent) --add-opens jdk.crypto.cryptoki/sun.security.pkcs11.*=ALL-UNNAMED -- this should produce substantially the same result as running on 8 (or lower).
The official solution is to put your code in a module -- either by itself or with other related code -- that requires the (or each) needed module, given it exports the needed parts, which I haven't checked for yours. However, since your code apparently isn't even in a package yet, putting it in a module will be some work.

How to make my actor work in my routes Akka HTTP in java?

I'm a beginner in Akka HTTP and I don't know very well how to use an actor on routes which use an actor in the routes since the examples in the Akka Http are all very particular.
I want to make a user enter a number which is 5 integer and 1 letter. If it is respecting this, it will show the number, if it is not, the system actor will send a message.
I used a lot of different manners to make it function but I have also a problem with the actor and a problem with the if (numCP.contains("[0-9]{7}[A-Z]{1}")) which is never respected even if I change it to 1 integer and I write 1 integer.
Here is my code excuse me for the lot of comment:
public class HttpServerActorCP extends AllDirectives {
public static ActorSystem<Printer.PrintMe> system = ActorSystem.create(Behaviors.empty(), "routes");
//public static ActorRef<Printer.PrintMe> ref = system;;

// if (numCP.contains("[0-9]{7}+[a-zA-Z]{1}") && numCP.length() == 8) {
if (numCP.contains("[0-9A-Z]+") && numCP.length() == 8) {
return true;
}
return false;
}

//ref.tell(new Printer.PrintMe("");
}
else { return system.tell(new Printer.PrintMe("Entrez un bon numero de CP"));//("Entrez un bon numéro CP")
};
})
Here is my Printer class for the message since I couldn't make my actors work only with Strings :
public class Printer {
public static class PrintMe {
public final String message;
public PrintMe(String message) {
this.message = message;
}
}
public static Behavior<PrintMe> create() {
return Behaviors.setup(
context ->
Behaviors.receive(PrintMe.class)
.onMessage(
PrintMe.class,
printMe -> {
context.getLog().info(printMe.message);
return Behaviors.same();
})
.build());
}
}
The error I have in the line when I use tell is "Cannot return a void result".
So could you help me to know what is the problem with that using of the actor and why the if contains doesn't work (I always have the message "entrez un on numero de cp")?
The String.contains function doesn't work with regexes, just use simple string comparison. To use regexes you have to use the java.util.regex.Pattern like:
// import java.util.regex.Pattern;
Pattern p = Pattern.compile("[0-9]{7}+[a-zA-Z]");
String badInput = "123456a";
String goodInput = "1234567b";
System.out.println(badInput + " " + p.matcher(badInput).matches());
System.out.println(goodInput + " " + p.matcher(goodInput).matches());
As for the returning Void error. actorSystem.tell used a fire and forget way of sending the message to the actor. You have to use ask to expect an answer. It will return a Future though

How do I open a TCSession?

I'm working with Teamcenter and Catia via the Java SOA libraries. I'm running into an issue where the demo code appears broken and I can't find a good example or documentation to work towards. There are two ways to get TCSession.
1) If you writing a Rich-Client Plugin
//numTry - number of attemts
private static TCSession getCurrentSession(int numTry) throws Exception {
try {
TCSession session = null;
ISessionService iss=null;
int numtry=numTry;
while (iss==null && numtry>0) {
iss = AifrcpPlugin.getSessionService();
numtry--;
}
session=(TCSession)iss.getSession("com.teamcenter.rac.kernel.TCSession");
return session;
}
catch (Exception ex) {
throw ex;
}
}
2) If you writing a stand-alone application, using SOA to work with Teamcenter API.
In this case, you need to connect teamcenter first. View "HelloTeamcenter" example in documentation for details.
did you get a solution for this?
SampleIndependentSilentLUS is a very good way of automating LUS process.but i prefer using the other class(SampleSilentLUS ) that can be called from command line because TCIC will automatically provide a TCSession
the session object you get from SOA(com.teamcenter.services.strong.core._2008_06.Session) is not compatible with RAC Session(com.teamcenter.rac.TCSession).
but if you use loose services(com.teamcenter.services.loose.core), i think you can simply typecast to TCSession

wrapper class is it a design pattern

i'm new to design pattern , and now i'm working on an open ware code : so i'm trying to understand the architecture of the code : layers , used design pattern ...
So i found the a package containing classes named EntityWrapper.java here's an example :
The wrapper class :
package org.objectweb.salome_tmf.api.data;
/**
* #author marchemi
*/
public class ActionWrapper extends DataWrapper{
String awaitedResult;
int orderIndex;
int idTest;
/**
* #return Returns the orderIndex.
*/
public int getOrderIndex() {
return orderIndex;
}
/**
* #param orderIndex The orderIndex to set.
*/
public void setOrderIndex(int orderIndex) {
this.orderIndex = orderIndex;
}
/**
* #return Returns the waitedResult.
*/
public String getAwaitedResult() {
return awaitedResult;
}
/**
* #param waitedResult The waitedResult to set.
*/
public void setAwaitedResult(String awaitedResult) {
this.awaitedResult = awaitedResult;
}
/**
* #return Returns the idTest.
*/
public int getIdTest() {
return idTest;
}
/**
* #param idTest The idTest to set.
*/
public void setIdTest(int idTest) {
this.idTest = idTest;
}
}
The entity class:
package org.objectweb.salome_tmf.data;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.Serializable;
import java.util.Enumeration;
import java.util.HashSet;
import java.util.Hashtable;
import java.util.Iterator;
import java.util.Vector;
import org.objectweb.salome_tmf.api.Api;
import org.objectweb.salome_tmf.api.ApiConstants;
import org.objectweb.salome_tmf.api.Util;
import org.objectweb.salome_tmf.api.data.ActionWrapper;

So what is the utility of the wrapper class , is it a kind of design pattern ?
I can not see, what ActionWrapper wraps, for me is just implementation of DataWrapper interface.
There 3 "kinds" of wrappers design patterns:
Facade design pattern = take a lot of classes/interfaces, do some logic inside and get out small interface. For example "Car start" encapsulate inside: open car, put key, set DVD, correct chair, ignition.
Decorator design pattern = take some class with behavior and make ability to add behaviors in run time. for example, instead of do class CarWithLCDWithDVDWithTurbo you can do: new LCDDecorator(new DVDDecorator(TurboDecorator(new car)));
Adapter design pattern = take some new interface and adapt it to some known interface.
The fact that something ends with the Wrapper word doesn´t make it a wrapper. To be a wrapper it has to wrap something. This is, it has to encapsulate one or more components, probably a whole third-party API.
There are different types of wrappers as #zzfima says. And yes, proxy could be a wrapper in some cases and also bridges could be.
Your code doesn´t encapsulate any other component and then, it is not a wrapper (at least for me)
call something "wrapper" doesn't make it a wrapper. Basically it needs to encapsulate something or wrap something, whatever you call it

A couple of questions about a music project in Java

I have a couple of questions about a school project I'm working on. The code is as follows.

private Track track;
private int tracksPlayed;
private int totalTrackTime;
private double averageTrackTime;

I understand that to call the play methods in the player class, I have to initialize a Track class variable. I also need to initialize it using the PlayList getTrack method. However, how can I initialize it without defining a starting index variable (i.e I don't want it to automatically initialize to a specific song in the index, I want the user to have to select a song first)?
Also, how do I code the play method in the player class to stop a existing song if one is playing before starting a new song and to restart a song if the play method is called again one the same song?
1.
how can I initialize it without defining a starting index variable
public Player (int initTrack){
...
track = playList.getTrack(initTrack);
...
}
2.
You should try with a field storing the track that it is currently playing!
