Spring resource not found - 3.2 - java

We have a project which is using Spring with 3.0 xsd running on tomcat 7. I tried to change the xsd to Spring 3.2 as we have been using spring jars for spring 3.2.4 and 'exclude-mapping' cannot be used with spring 3.0 xsd.
After this change, application stops working, though it does not throw any errors while starting/stopping the server or adding and removing the application.
After the change any request to the application fails with error 404.
Here are the Jars we are using:
beandoc-0.7.0.jar
commons-fileupload-1.2.2.jar
commons-io-1.3.2.jar
commons-logging-1.2-javadoc.jar
commons-logging-1.2.jar

When we try to clean the server, it results in the below exception:

Liferay 7.3 - org.hibernate.MappingException: entity class not found

I'm pretty new to Liferay development. I'm working on migrating a project from 6.2 to 7.3.
The plugin I'm working on has the -api / -service / -portlet structure that I've seen in the tutorials.
When I try to deploy the service JAR to my server, I'm getting the following error:

I've encountered that error when migrating from previous versions when the DTD of the service.xml file is not the right one. You must make sure you are using the latest version available for the version you are using (7.3 in this case).
For example, the header of the service.xml file should start like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE service-builder PUBLIC "-//Liferay//DTD Service Builder 7.3.0//EN" "http://www.liferay.com/dtd/liferay-service-builder_7_3_0.dtd">
<service-builder...>
The best option is to generate a test servicebuilder project using the tutorial, and then compare the generated code with yours, making note of the differences.

tomee won't start from within eclipse

I installed apache-tomee-plume-7.1.0 from https://tomee.apache.org/
I installed eclipse-jee from https://www.eclipse.org/ using the installation tool.
In eclipse I added a new tomcat v8.5 server since eclipse told me that was the installed version.
When starting the server from within eclipse, I get an error-message like this:
'Starting tomcat v8.5 Server at localhost' has encountered a problem.
Server Tomcat v8.5 Server at localhost failed to start.
In the console it says:

There are some more errors but I think the NoClassDefFoundError might be the main problem... am I right?
Any help is appreciated.
I ended up using another version of tomee.
Switched to version: apache-tomee-plume-8.0.0-M3
This solved my issues.
Both version of TomEE, witch is Apache TomEE plume 8.0.0-M3 and Apache Tomee plume 7.1.0, it seems to run without error, both started from prompt and also from Eclipse plugin. However try to unpacked them in an directory whose name does not contain the space character.

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.commons.fileupload.FileItemFactory

I have followed this tutorial for using servlet for file upload.
Here is the folder structure (Dynamic project created using Eclipse). I am NOT using maven for this simple project. I added the external jar to the build path.
when I start Tomcat and deploy this application by right-clicking on the project in Eclipse > Run on Server I get

please help me with what is going wrong here and how to fix this?
You need to copy the required commons jars into your /WEB-INF/lib folder as well.
commons-io-2.4.jar
commons-fileupload-1.3.1.jar
The reason is that just adding the jar dependencies to your Eclipse project's build path does not make them automatically available on Tomcat. Since, the dependencies are missing (not found in the lib folder) your web app's deployment fails.

Another problem is that I was trying more tutorials on the internet and every time I get errors when applying struts2 to the web page. Can someone tell me What am I missing with Tomcat?
P.S. I am using Eclipse kepler, Could it be it th problem?
Javassist library is missing. You can download it from maven below is the link. This is mentioned in the exception itself :)
