How to connect to Google big query with spark using java locally?

I am trying to connect to Google big query using spark in java, but I am unable to find accurate documentation for the same.

My json file contains project_id
I tried searching for possible solutions but am unable to find any, hence please help me with finding a solution to this exception, or else any documentation on how to connect to big query with spark.

I've got exactly the same error with DataProcPySparkOperator operator in the Airflow. The fix was to provide
dataproc_pyspark_jars='gs://spark-lib/bigquery/spark-bigquery-latest_2.12.jar'
instead of
dataproc_pyspark_jars='gs://spark-lib/bigquery/spark-bigquery-latest.jar'
I guess in your case it should be passed as a command line argument like
--jars=gs://spark-lib/bigquery/spark-bigquery-latest_2.12.jar

Recently a PR handling this issue has been merged to the the spark-bigquery-connector, a new version of the connector will be released soon.
A simple solution for now is to add the environment variable GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=/path/OfMyProjectJson.json to the spark runtime.

Anatoly above sums it pretty clearly and nicely as to what you need to do.
If you are looking for a quick and dirty test try changing the hostnames from
http://config:8888 to http://localhost:8888
in the bootstrap.yml files, for the service you are trying to run.

If you build and run project modules manually (e.g. from IDE) you should rename all "config" hostnames in bootstrap.yml files to "localhost".
The issue is, this project uses Docker Compose to run things
Development mode
If you'd like to build images yourself (with some changes in the code, for example), you have to clone all repository and build artifacts with maven. Then, run docker-compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.dev.yml up
docker-compose.dev.yml inherits docker-compose.yml with additional possibility to build images locally and expose all containers ports for convenient development.
and Docker Compose allows you to use service name as hostname.

Setting failsafe to false will just not throw the exception , this is something I would not recommend since this means even if you are not connected to your config server and unable to fetch the configuration your application will run which leads to an uncertain behavior (since you do not know where your properties are loaded), always better to fail fast.
The original cause of the problem is an exception or failing during fetching the remote environment from your config server, probably a timeout issue.

Your configuration is not setup properly. It thinks the hostname is 'config'.

For me it was because the Jhipster Registry was not running

I met this issue as the same, i resolved it by updated configuration below:

After changing Active profiles to local in "Edit configuration" it started working.

The focus is on http://localhost:8761/config, and then I saw that there is a bootstrap-prod.yml based on the production environment in the project. The reason is that the configuration in the production environment is the same as the dev, which leads to an error.
So replace the produced localhost with the domain name/IP of the project registration center

I got something similar, an 500 internal error from a micro service! No cause given.
I looked at the config server, for the service my application was attempting to contact. It had given a parse error when attempting to read a yml file at start up, with the result the entire process was hanging.
So if you get an error, look in the logging data from your config server, there might be some extra information there.

ClassCastException when using log4j in app embedding osgi felix while bundles use log4j

I have a java application which embeds felix osgi container. The java application uses log4j 2.8.2.
One of my osgi implementation bundles also use log4j. Because of this i added the jars log4j-api-2.8.2 and log4j-core-2.8.2 to the osgi system with:
bundleContext.installBundle()
And start the bundle with:
bundle.start()
Installing the bundles works fine. Except the starting of bundle "org.apache.felix.scr" throws an exception:

I suspect that is because the felix SCR is trying to load my implementation bundle which is using log4j. And because my application (the one that embeds felix) uses log4j and likely the ContextSelector. The osgi likely uses BundleContextSelector. Hence the exception.
I'm wondering how can i solve this?
I already tried setting the ContextSelector for my application to the osgi one:

But no luck there. I also tried spawning a new thread to setup osgi/felix. I'm running out of ideas.
I currently have switched from log4j to java util logging for my application. My implementation osgi bundles can use log4j without problems this way.

Assuming that the war was working fine for JBoss AS7. What could be the possible root cause for such behavior ?

Do not use BeanManager.getReference before AfterDeploymentValidation. Refactor your code accordingly. The reason is - getReference might give you incomplete results. At that point, the bootstrap is not yet done and getReference method might fail to retrieve a reference as there might not be one at a given time (although it would be there later on).
As for how to workaround this:
Use Weld non-portable mode although that might have more undesirable effects. You should firstly try to refactor the code before falling back to this configuration.

Drools 6.3 error when using java 8

I am new to Drools and I am using Drools 6.3 final along with java 1.8 on eclipse. I am not using ant/Maven for building my project. The same project used to work fine with java 1.6 and Drools 5.1.
Now when i try to run the project, I get an error :
