Error while deploying spring boot application on google app engine - java

My spring boot app works fine on local machine. But when i try to deploy on GAE using this command, it gives me below error

I did 2 things to resolve this :
1. Make sure the app.yaml file has resources specified. On some occassions, the VM does not have enough memory to run the application and it shuts down.

2. Like #Roie's answer above, add the repackage goal in the maven executions

Jenkins - Could not find artifact org.apache.maven:maven:pom:3.1.0 in Repo

Java 8, maven compile issue on Jenkins
struggling for ages with this one. I can locally build, compile and test everything without a problem. I use same maven command as I use on my Jenkins. I wiped my .m2 folder so I have same empty repo and still everything fine.

Issue with maven in AWS CodeCommit

I am having an issue with using AWS CodeCommit. My code compiles on my local using mvn clean install, however it doesn't work on AWS CodeCommit. During the build process it fails with "Error while executing command: mvn clean install. Reason: exit status 1". Below are both my pom.xml and buildspec.yml files. Spring Boot application build with Maven encounters Java Version Issue

I was trying to build an application using maven build.It was returning this build failure even though I have placed my pom.xml file is in-place.
I have configure my pom with out any issue.But I can see that there is some error returning related to schema.But don't have much information on that

According to your logs:

You might be using an inferior JDK version (1.7 for example) to compile your project to a higher target version (1.8.0_73 in your case).
Try installing JDK 1.8 and make your JAVA_HOME environment variable point to it.
Generally you should make sure the source JDK and target JDK are matching between your pom.xml file and your JAVA_HOME environment variable.

In general the minor release number (for java) is not configured in pom.xml. Only major release number will be require.
Try to change 1.8.0_73 to 1.8.

Looking in your maven output, it is clear that you have a duplicate dependency declaration. Moreover, it is clear that the duplicate dependency is the org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-test.
What is the process of solving the issue and removing this WARNING:
Look VERY carefully your pom.xml. You probably have declared the dependency twice.
An other cause of this warning might be that a dependency is declared twice, but with different versions. The solution, again, is to delete the dependency for one of them.
Command mvn dependency:tree -Dverbose might be useful.
Finally, after writing the above process, I looked in the pom.xml file you posted in your question and found that you have declared the following dependency twice (line:54 and line:65).

I've only 1 version of java installed i.e. JDK 8
This is the command I ran in terminal to make maven is using latest java version
export JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/libexec/java_home)

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.1:compile (default-compile) on project helloworld: Fatal error compiling: invalid target release: 1.7 -> [Help 1]
If you look at the error, its complaining about an JDK7. Make sure you are using correct version of Java to be able to compile the application. You need atleast jdk1.7 (or higher).
As the question is tagged for eclipse, you can also set the available java compilers in the 'installeded JREs' option inside eclipse
Apart from that, you can also set the compliance level inside the pom of the project as below

You have to install java 7 for the compile to work, however, java 8 and newer should also work
