Spring-boot don't work with database

Spring-boot don't work with database - java

UPDATE: Oook, first of all, thank you very much. I did not know that user is a reserved keyword in Postgres. I changed the name to CustomUser but now the problem is another, the app works but I noticed that it created an identical CustomUser table called custom_user because it does not use the existing table?
I'm new to Springboot and I do not understand where I am wrong.

The database (postgresql) consists of a single User table (ID, AGE, NAME, SALARY) when I try to test services using Postman I get this error:

Check your table user has id column in database. If not create that and try again. This error basically means the database table and entity is not in sync with respect to columns. Check the column names and types.

Hibernate SerializationException: could not deserialize

This is my Data Base

When i establish conetion with my Class i specify all column and primary key but when i start my code i get Serialization Exception, in code i am supose to set LocalDate manualy with HTML form but i get serialization exc and Whitelabel Error Page apeare. Please help

I'm trying to do exactly what this code doing. I already got the data. But when I try to call repo.save() as below, its always NullPointerException. When I try to add anotation #Service at the top of the class, it shows error that the bean not created. Do Autowired need #Service? If it is yes, then I have to create the bean in a class with #Configuration anotation, isn't it?

Is the repository in the "same place as the other repositories" ?
Maybe you put it in another package and you forgot to let the Spring know that you use some Repos from another location.

How to handle ManytoMany relationship between two model and design rest calls around them in Spring Boot?

I have been struggling from past one week for this issue i have been facing. So here's the Problem statement: I have a table TestSuite that has 'id' as its primary key(autogenerated) and has some other fields. I have another table TestCase that has 'id' as its primary key(autogenerated) and has some other fields. A person can make a post call to the TestCase api to create a testCase. But When a person makes a post call to create a new TestSuite they have to provide an array of TestCase id meaning those testcases are part of this testsuite. Before persisting the testsuite i need to make sure if there are testcases present in the database with the testcase id they provide and if so i have to create a record in testsuite table and make mapping entries of newly created testsuite-id and list of test case-ids in testsuite_testcase table.

Please remove #GeneratedValue from both TestCase entity. You are sending the test cases with specific ids, but you configured hibernate to generate their values => they will be detached.
UPDATE
If you want to keep generated value, you will not be able to create new TestCases when you create a TestSuite. The most you can do is to update the values and fail with exception if they fail.

You must remove cascade = CascadeType.ALL from #ManyToMany relationship, it will indicate no cascade, just update the relationship table.
It is against the generated value concept to have both generated and not-generated ids. A workaround would be that when you create a new testcase, to take the next generated value in the sequence and save the entity with it. You will need to remove #GeneratedValue annotation and make sure that you don't have concurrency problems.

I think the problem happened in the field mapping, but i do not know how to solve it.

What you are experiencing is the subtle differences that the spring-boot implementation does with both PhysicalNamingStrategy and ImplicitNamingStrategy that ultimately differs from the default that Hibernate does.
As a little history, spring-boot attempts to mimic older Hibernate behavior with their implementations of these strategies to ease the upgrade process for legacy applications.
Their strategy essentially translates securityLevel to security_level at the database level rather than it being an explicit pass-thru like the default hibernate implementations.
You can try overriding their strategy definitions in your spring configuration to use the default ones that ship with Hibernate instead to see if that resolves yours conflicts.
The two spring-boot settings of interest are:

When I pass this payload via HTTP post method to the rest endpoint I get the exception mentioned above.
Now I want to persist a Book entity which refers to the existing Author and Publisher entity.

I was going through this question on stackoverflow and tried one of its solution and it worked for me.
Replacing
#OneToOne(cascade = CascadeType.ALL)
with
#OneToOne(cascade = CascadeType.MERGE)
worked for me.
Now I don't know if it is a Hot-fix or why I didn't work with CascadeType.ALL

This is a general architecural problem which I see rarely addressed.
The point is that your JPA entities can be in several states:
transient only
persistent unchanged attached
persistent unchanged detached
persistent changed detached
persistent changed attached unflushed
persistent changed attached flushed
Often I see JPA entities passed around and even serialized so they exit the JPA context an become "detached".
You should have a clear answer to ANY state of your JPA Entity in the architectural context. If you do not adress it it becomes micro management and your code will be more and more inexpressive as you always have to be aware which method is save to call in which state of the JPA entity.
To your question:
A simple possibility would be to load the entity by id to get an attached representation and map the values from the detached entity to the attached entity.
The real problem is that your entity quietly became a communication object ( I call it suggestion or proposal object). It is an object that works together in the context of the operation to perform (create/update/delete/read). That said it is only tip of the architectural iceberg.
