Building web app in spring from scratch is really hard i wasted many time for it. whats my wrong any help appreciated, Thanks

In your web.xml replace
<context-param>
<param-name>ApplicationContext</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
...
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/xasweb-dispatcher-servlet.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
by
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>
/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml
</param-value>
</context-param>
You dont need to declare xasweb-dispatcher-servlet.xml separately as the container will look by default inside web-inf for the file name yourServletName-servlet.xml
Also add below code in the application context xml with the proper name space declaration
<context:annotation-config />
Or
<mvc:annotation-driven />

In your web.xml replace
<context-param>
<param-name>ApplicationContext</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
...
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/xasweb-dispatcher-servlet.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
by
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>
/WEB-INF/xasweb-dispatcher-servlet.xml
/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml
</param-value>
</context-param>
The configuration is only read from files given by the context param contextConfigLocation.

Invalid version of spring-jpa

In my project I have three model files- User, Appointment and Notification. There are three repository interfaces each implements CRUDRepository. Service and Controller class are also present. While executing the project i am getting two errors:
1. No spring Webinitializer detected on classpath.
2. exception while creating bean.
here is stack trace:

Many answers on stackoverflow suggested that error is due to invalid version of spring-jpa and spring data. I tried to change the version of spring, but did not help. Which version of spring and spring-jpa should I use? Do I need to add some other dependency?

Spring version - 4.3.8.RELEASE and spring data jpa version - 1.0.2.RELEASE combination worked for me.
If it is version issue then may be you can try this combination.
You have version mismatch problem with BeanUtils.findPropertyForMethod
The below dependency is causing the version problem which is referring to findPropertyForMethod which takes one parameter.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.data</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-data-jpa</artifactId>
<version>1.6.4.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
Consider changing the version to 2.0.3.RELEASE which would resolve the issue.

Aaaand, I've no jboss errors...
You have your controller handling '/register', that's good. Do you have your application deployed with context root 'ecart'? Check Project properties, Web Project Settings.
Could it be a maven + jboss 7.1 configuration issue?

How to properly change spring configuation xml file to migrate from Hibernate 3 to Hibernate 4?

I am reading the book 'Pro Spring 3' and the author uses Hibernate 3 for an application.
The book's spring-config.xml is the following :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"
xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx" xmlns:jdbc="http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc"
xsi:schemaLocation="
http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc http://www.springframework.org/schema/jdbc/spring-jdbc-3.1.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.1.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx/spring-tx-3.1.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.1.xsd">
<jdbc:embedded-database id="dataSource" type="H2">
<jdbc:script location="classpath:schema.sql"/>
<jdbc:script location="classpath:test-data.sql"/>
</jdbc:embedded-database>
<bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager">
<property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/>
</bean>
<tx:annotation-driven/>
<context:component-scan base-package="com.apress.prospring3.ch9" />
<bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean">
<property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/>
<property name="packagesToScan" value="com.apress.prospring3.ch9.domain"/>
<property name="hibernateProperties">
<props>
<prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.H2Dialect</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.max_fetch_depth">3</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.jdbc.fetch_size">50</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.jdbc.batch_size">10</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop>
</props>
</property>
</bean>
</beans>
My experimental spring-config.xml that tries to use Hibernate 4 is the following:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"

<context:annotation-config />
<context:component-scan base-package="foo.bar"/>
<bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" destroy-method="close">
<property name="driverClassName">
<value>${jdbc.driverClassName}</value>
</property>
<property name="url">
<value>${jdbc.url}</value>
</property>
<property name="username">
<value>${jdbc.username}</value>
</property>
<property name="password">
<value>${jdbc.password}</value>
</property>
</bean>
<bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.HibernateTransactionManager">
<property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/>
</bean>
<tx:annotation-driven/>
<bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.LocalSessionFactoryBean">
<property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/>
<property name="packagesToScan" value="foo.bar.domain"/>
<property name="hibernateProperties">
<props>
<prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect</prop>
<prop key="hibernate.max_fetch_depth">3</prop>

<prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop>
</props>
</property>
</bean>
<context:property-placeholder location="jdbc.properties"/>
</beans>
When I am trying to run the application using my own version of spring-config.xml I get the following error :

Update 2:
SpringHibernateSample.java :
import foo.bar.dao.ContactDao;
import foo.bar.domain.Contact;
import org.springframework.context.support.GenericXmlApplicationContext;
import java.util.List;
public class SpringHibernateSample {
public static void main(String[] args) {
GenericXmlApplicationContext ctx = new GenericXmlApplicationContext("spring-config.xml");
ContactDao contactDao = ctx.getBean("contactDao", ContactDao.class);
List<Contact> contacts = contactDao.findAll();
listContacts(contacts);
}
private static void listContacts(List<Contact> contacts)
{
System.out.println("");
System.out.println("Listing contacts without details:");
for (Contact contact: contacts)
{
System.out.println(contact);
System.out.println();
}
}
}
The problem is with the namespace reference for the xmnls:tx, if you look at your spring configuration for hibernate 4, you can see that the tx points to: http://www.springframework.org/schema/cache instead of http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx
It means that spring is looking for a cacheManager instead of a transactionManager
change xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/cache" to xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx" in the beans tag of the spring configuration file and it should work.
In your stack trace your can see :
Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.cache.interceptor.CacheInterceptor#0'
The org.springframework.cache.interceptor package seems to be associated with AOP. So it's maybe related to your tag
<tx:annotation-driven/>
Try to remove it to see if you still have the error.
You can also try this :
<tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="transactionManager" order="1"/>
And last, get the librairies directly from Spring and Hibernate, there is maybe a class in your librairies which cause the problem.

Intellij Idea - Could not autowire. No beans of 'ApplicationRepository' type found. less... (Ctrl+F1) Checks autowiring problems in a bean class

I am Java newbie.
I am making this tutorial (Spring MVC + Hibernate + Tomcat)
Everything goes fine till now. When I tried to make a ApplicationController I could not autowire ApplicationRepository.
I get this error message and 404 error code when I deploy application:
Could not autowire. No beans of 'ApplicationRepository' type found. less...
(Ctrl+F1)
Checks autowiring problems in a bean class.
Ok talk is cheap.
Here goes the repo (github!): https://github.com/maciejkowalski/sample-spring-app

EDIT #1
I have edited web.xml and added code:
<web-app version="2.4"
xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee
http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd">
<display-name>Spring MVC Application</display-name>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>mvc-dispatcher</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>mvc-dispatcher</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<listener>
<listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class>
</listener>
</web-app>
But now I get Element listener-class is not allowed her from Intellij IDEA.
And my app even doesnt deploy.
EDIT #2
Well problem still occurs.
I renamed persistance.xml to persistence.xml.
Restarted Intellij idea and still getting this error.
Maybe this is a bug?
I will probably surrender with this Spring stuff, it's beyond me...
I followed the same tutorial and ran into the same code inspection warning (even if the application was working fine, the IDE was complaining). To make fix it, I added #Repository to my JpaRepository:
For your example:
package wzpweb;
import org.springframework.data.jpa.repository.JpaRepository;
#Repository
public interface ApplicationRepository extends JpaRepository<Application, Long> {
}
Rename your file persistance.xml to persistence.xml. The persistence.xml is, by default, the name of the file needed in the META-INF/ directory to define a persistence unit needed by your entityManagerFactory.
Here's a blog post explaining how Spring uses your custom interface implementing JpaRepository to generate an implementation class. I originally thought that you needed an implementation class for it, but that is not the case.
Small bug in the naming is your problem, given away by your first exception in the stack trace.
javax.persistence.PersistenceException: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named defaultPersistenceUnit
Add a context loader listener to your web.xml to read the Spring app context XML on startup.
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/context/applicationContext.xml,/WEB-INF/context/applicationContext-*.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
<listener>
<listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class>
</listener>
removing the Spring facet (File->Project Structure)
Kill the project configuration in the facet of the relevant module configuration content, the IDEA is automatically identified. After the removal, the relevant error disappears. Does not affect compilation.
Similar issue come when you have created ObjectService and instantiated the same in the RestController and you havent annotated the ObjectServiceImpl with #Service.
