Build an GUI with scenebuilder, how to implement? - java

I need to build an elevator system. I use netbeans.
I want to make a GUI design in scenebuilder. But when I added it into our files in netbeans, how do I implement it into code so the buttons and so on have functions?

Check Tutorial at this link: http://code.makery.ch/library/javafx-8-tutorial/
It explains in simple terms how to create and implement GUI in JavaFX application.
Basically you need to make controller class and link it with gui in scene builder in Controller section and you also need to set id property (Code section) to gui elements.

Java Swing application on multiple package

I am currently working on a self-project using Java SE-13 on Eclipse with Window builder.
I intend to create a program that has the following design flow using individual button as the event-source.
[Edit](for those who do not wish to visit the link)
Default Package Swing application <---> Package A swing application
I using package to help me simulate then I am using people program and integrate it. Trying to think of modular and keeping the project organize
[/Edit]
I had tried to use the following two approach.
Destroy the "current Swing application"(extend Frame) using
XXX.dispose(), create the instance of the second Swing application
and set it visible.
It works fine if the flow is one direction but not bidirectional. When I try to return back to the "current Swing application" it was unable to destroy the second-swing application which it throws a Nullpointer exception.
Using CardLayout. By creating multiple Jpanel and only set the one I wish to display as visible(true).
It allows me to have the bi-direction flow. But I am not using packages.
I had heard about the getContentpane() method but I am unsure if it will meet my requirement or it the best practice. If so, how will you be implementing else if not, what will you do to achieve my desire flow.
Thank you and take care

Is it advisable to create a seperate class for JavaFX UI building if done entirely through objects rather than FXML

I'm figuring out whether or not to build my application based on FXML or plain Java. This is because we are not allowed to use the scene builder.
So my problem is whether or not to use one class to build the entire UI through various methods rather than using multiple FXML Files.
If the class option is the best way then should I implement 1 UI Stage per class or all in one
I've used only FXML upto now but when i tried integrating JFoenix i realized that there was no FXML Code given so this was an issue for me
I advice you to use JavaFX even when you have to hardcode it because even then your Code will be simpler. Creating an own UI is very complex and nothing for beginners. It needs a team of pro devs to create something like JavaFX. Then in JavaFX all methods you could dream of are included. So if I were you i would use JavaFX because it is a good and existing way to do it.

How to show GUI design view in java.class?

I'm linking a database to NetBeans now and I need to create a interface for this. But when I need to adjust the position of button, label is difficult. Is it possible that show a GUI design view that easy for me to adjust without use the JFrame component?
If I understood your question correctly, you're looking for a GUI builder for Swing.
Netbeans ships with the Matisse Swing GUI Builder which will help you build GUIs easily and quickly. Tutorials aren't uncommon (such as the official tutorial or some user created videos on YouTube).
Some folks are fine with this work flow (since it speeds up development quite a bit). Others want to use custom frameworks and have requirements to use specific layouts in which case I recommend reading about different layout managers.
Take your pick and happy development! :)
Instead of trying to design your entire application in the GUI editor, you may be able to adapt the approach shown here. This will let you focus on a single container at a time. Also, remember to backup your .form files; more here.

Using JavaFX Chart in Swing Application

I have a traditional Java swing application (extends JFrame and has a main class) that uses JFreeCharts for some charting functionality. I have recently seen JavaFX and think these charts look alot refresher and will give my users a better experience. I wish to embed a JavaFX chart scene into a jInternalFrame (which in turn is called from my jDesktopPane).
I have followed a simple tutorial on how to create both a javafx application and a javafx chart but I am stuck on to how I get the scene inside my existing code. One example I have been through shows me how to achieve this but means converting my project to a javafx one which extends "application" class.
How can I achieve what I want? Is it not possible to keep my existing JFrame as the top level class and simply add a JFXPanel to my jinternalframe.
Any help would be great, please note I have been through some tutorials and they require me to convert my project to javafx - I simply want a javafx scene in my existing swing app.
Many thanks,
You don't need to convert your Swing application to a JavaFX application. You can place a JavaFX Chart in a JFXPanel which may be placed in a Swing component. The javadoc I linked includes sample code for embedding a JavaFX node in a Swing application.
Review the official JavaFX for Swing Developers tutorial trail from Oracle.
Also look at the Embedding JavaFX in Swing sample of SwingInterop for embedding a chart in a Swing application. The sample is provided by Oracle under the BSD open source license so that you can use it in your application.
Despite all this, my advice, unless it is a large, existing Swing code base that you just want to use a couple of JavaFX features in, is to write your application as a pure JavaFX application rather than a mixed Swing/JavaFX application.

Java: Adding a User Interface to a program

If I have Java program and I need to alter it to an interface and include icons,
is there any easy I can do this and is there a good application that can help me to do it ?
or do I have to code it in myself?
Nop, /me thinks ur need 1337 mad Java programin' skillz!
Translation for the rest of the world: Sorry, you'll need to program in Java.
Added: Hey, what's with the downvotes? He started it! :P Besides - no matter if he wants to add or modify (the original text wasn't clear on this) the UI of a Java program, he will need to program in Java to bring his UI together with the code. There is no miracle tool that can allow you to draw an UI and it will suddenly do what you do.
Netbeans has a Swing GUI Builder. Quoting from their website. Let's hope this doesn't count has hidden advertising :)
Design Swing GUIs by dragging and
positioning GUI components from a
palette onto a canvas. The GUI builder
automatically takes care of the
correct spacing and alignment. Click
into JLabels, JButtons, ButtonGroups,
JTrees, JTextFields, ComboBoxes and
edit their properties directly in
place. You can use the GUI builder to
prototype GUIs right in front of
customers.
If you want to add a UI to your Java program there are tools to help you, such as the Swing GUI Builder inside of IntelliJ Idea. However, you're still going to have to write the appropriate code to hook into the UI.
It's just a website? Well depending on whether it uses CSS you might be able to just modify a .css file. This will only let you modify how the site looks as opposed to works.
See here for an example of how this technology works. However this depends on how css-dependent the website is and it's possible you may still run into some difficulties.
You want to use a Java framework to help you with the UI. For example, you can use JSF (Javaserver faces), which allows you to drag and drop components for a UI onto the site. Otherwise, you can use web programs such as Dreamweaver to design the UI, before coding the backend logic yourself in java.
