Fat jar maven requirement - java

I am not good with maven.
And based on maven plugins, my below pom would build 3 things on maven install:
1) executable jar as smartApp.jar
2) conf/application.properties
3) smartApp.lib with all dependencies
4) tk_installer-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT-shaded.jar
I created a fat jar as tk_installer-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT-shaded.jar but this would still need smartApp.lib and conf folder in parallel for execution.

For anyone messing up use spring-boot jar building support and just provide below plugin instead of whole thing above for creating a fat jar as below:

jacoco-maven-plugin:0.7.9 dependency issue

I was trying to add jacoco maven plugin in my pom.xml file but getting below error while building the project.
Execution default-prepare-agent of goal org.jacoco:jacoco-maven-plugin:0.7.9:prepare-agent failed: Plugin org.jacoco:jacoco-maven-plugin:0.7.9 or one of its dependencies could not be resolved: The following artifacts could not be resolved: commons-codec:commons-codec:jar:1.2,
commons-collections:commons-collections:jar:3.2: Could not transfer artifact commons-codec:commons-codec:jar:1.2 from/to central (https://artifactory.corp.chartercom.com/plugins-release):
Access denied to https://artifactory.corp.chartercom.com/plugins-release/commons-codec/commons-codec/1.2/commons-codec-1.2.jar. Error code 403, Forbidden
I have tried a couple of things as mentioned below:
I have tried to upgrate jacoco version for 0.7.9 to 0.8.4, 0.8.5 and 0.8.6 and try to exclude commons-codec:commons-codec:jar:1.2 and commons-collections:commons-collections:jar:3.2 jar form jacoco plugin but it doesn't work.
I have also tried to add upgraded dependencies of commons-codec and commons-collections jars in my pom.xml but it doesn't work.

Is this error has anything to do with setting.xml file ? your suggestions will be highly appriciated.

Instead of commons-collections4, You can try adding commons-collections dependency as shown below.

The problem is exactly what is described - spigot-api has a dependency on spigot and spigot has a dependency on spigot-api. Each one needs the other to exist to build, so there is no way to build this all from scratch.
You will need to fix these projects so you can build one without the other first - probably the API project should not rely on its implementation so try removing the dependency on spigot from the spigot-api project.

RavenDB Java client missing StringUtils

I downloaded the RavenDB Java client 3.2.1 jar from here, created a new Java project in Ecplise, added the jar to the list of references, then took these three lines
IDocumentStore store = new DocumentStore(ravenDbUrl, "todo-db");
store.initialize();
store.executeIndex(new TodoByTitleIndex());
from here, replaced the values with my db-specific names, and expected some sign of life from the db. Instead, I'm getting "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/lang/StringUtils".
I must admit, it's been a while since I've done Java, but surely this isn't missing something glaringly obvious, is it ?!
I have included the commons-lang3-3.5.jar file as well, but it's not taking that. Could you please point me in the right direction ?

Netbeans runtime configuration in jar

I have a maven project and jni4net is one of the dependency and it's running fine in Netbeans. But when i package it into a jar i get the error java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no jni4net.n-0.8.8.0 in java.library.path. I solved this problem in Netbenas by setting Working directory and VM Options in Project Properties -> Run. Now is there a way to include these configurations while packaging it as jar, or any other solution.

I can make mvn clean install on the moduleA with no problems. But I cannot make it in the second module. When I try to make mvn install on sms-office-ui maven give me error:

My question is how to locate the sms-office-core in order show maven where is its location?

You should not compile the module itself. You need to issue the mvn commands on the root. Then, you can specify that you would like to build a single module, with the --pl option. Also, you need the --am to build the dependent modules. So, the command becomes:
mvn install -pl sms-office-ui -am
By the way --pl is the shorthand for --projects and --am for --also-make.

It looks like it's having trouble resolving the parent pom. Ensure that you're running mvn clean install from the parent directory so that it installs the parent pom before it tries to build the child.
