I have a simple notification which works for me on older androids. But this same notification doesnt pop up on my phone with android oreo. I read that i need to assign channel with notification, which i did. But still, it doesnt pop up.

I think you are missing mManager.createNotificationChannel(mChannel);

So I am a beginner and I was following one tutorial on how to make notification in Android Studio. This app should make a notification when you press a button, but instead of making notification it shows up a Developer Warning

Starting with Android 8.0 (API level 26), notifications require a notification channel.
This is a category which you create and assign to your notifications. Having multiple notification channels per app, allows users to better manage which kind of notifications they want to receive from an app.
To achieve this, you need to create a notification channel as stated in the example in the Android docs:

CHANNEL_ID can be any integer number which doesn't change during the lifetime of your app. It is OK if you make it a static final int.
Once you created the channel, you can specify the same CHANNEL_ID when creating notifications:

With very few exceptions, notifications are not shown on Android TV.
I am trying to create a notification for Incoming call. For that I have added two actions in notification. My action text only is displayed.Action icon is not displayed in notification.

As per the Notifications in Android N blog post:
Notification actions have also received a redesign and are now in a visually separate bar below the notification.
You’ll note that the icons are not present in the new notifications; instead more room is provided for the labels themselves in the constrained space of the notification shade. However, the notification action icons are still required and continue to be used on older versions of Android and on devices such as Android Wear.
So it is expected that you do not see the icons associated with notification actions.
If you need more flexibility in creating the notification layout, go for the custom one.

The notifications is not showing on the lock screen. The settings for the app allows to show notifications on lock screen.
Any advice?

makes the notification shown on the lock screen.
On Oreo (API 18), I don't want to use notification dot.
But it show notification dot default.
For instance, YouTube push notification but don't use notification dot.
I'am using NotificationChannel
And I tried using

But it didn't work.
How can I do this?

When you create your notification under Oreo you must create a channel instance and assign it to the notification. You use setShowBadge on your instance.
