LinearLayout not responsive in small devices

I have a layout file in my Android application:

It's working perfectly in most of the devices but in a small screen device I can't see the SeekBar because it's out from the screen. Any idea how I can fix it?

You are using very large fixed sizes on your views, and because different phones got different screen sizes what seems to work on some device will actually not work on another
For example - in a smaller device with height of 300dp with views summing up to total of 400dp you will not have enough room for some views because of the small screen size and that's why you are not seeing your view.
You can use ConstraintLayout to make your screen responsive, or if you want to keep your current layout structure you can use the following libraries for scaling size of dp:
ssp and sdp to get a scalable size unit for your views and texts.
Another option is to wrap your layout with ScrollView, giving your screen the option to be scrollable and by that you will be able to "see" all of your views on your screen - note that this may not be intuitive to your user.

It is because the fixed sizes you are using to build your layout is getting summed up eventually being too big for small screen size. You can try the following to fix this:
Create a layout specially for small screen size by using smallest width qualifier
Make your layout scrollable
Use constraint layout
Using the ssp and sdp size units
NOTE that you will have to specify the smallest width qualifier to your current layout in such a way that the smallest width qualifer excludes the small screen devices and include the devices in which your layout fits properly.

I would suggest you to use constraint layout, but if you still want to go ahead with your current view then it will be good practice if you add scrollview to your parent layout, so that your layout won't get cropped on smaller devices:

How to align Two TextViews next to each other in LinnearLayouts?

I am trying to put two TextViews next to each other but somehow I can't get it to work. I wanted to have the following: txtViewAddress: txtAddress
I've tried putting android:layout_toRightOf="#id/txtViewAddress"
I also tried putting layout_toLeftOf, but both did not work.
Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance.

If you need views inside a linear layout next to each other, the orientation of your layout must be horizontal.
You can also use the constraint layout, it has much more flexibility in placing view on your screen.

change the android:orientation="vertical" to android:orientation="horizontal"
and you can also use android:weightSum="2" weightSum is used to define the priority of the view
if you give equal weight to all views inside linear layout then all the views take on equal amount of space inside the Linear Layout

Rearrange RelativeLayout child through java code in android

I'm working on a currency converter app. Everything is working fine. I'm using Nested Linear and Relative Layouts in my xml file. I have arranged the layouts one above the other in RelativeLayout like this. (SIMPLE IDEA)

I've set the divider below firstRow and then secondRow below divider in xml. Now i want to rearrange the rows like this.

I'm trying to do like this divider below secondRow and firstRow below divider. but its giving me circular dependencies error. I know all about circular dependencies and i believe the java code is not reseting the above layoutparams, instead its something like merging the two layouts which will definitely shoot circular dependencies error.

Try with above code. It worked for me. You need to remove previous Below rule to avoid circular dependency.

As #Luksprog have mentioned about removing the existing rules before adding the new ones this code snippet will work.

Center button in a LinearLayout

I just want to center "CenterButton" (center of the root LinearLayout) but Androids just not cooperating..

Tried putting it at the end of the XML but doesn't work because the other elements push it aside.. not really sure what's happening.

if you want to have all three first level children to be in equally-sized columns, then you need to add to all of them the followings attribute:

(don't forget the dimension "dp" to the width parameter, otherwise the IDE will complain).

If you want your CenterButton to overlap all the other views, then what you have to do is:
wrap everything in a relative layout with height equal to 200dp, as its first child
remove the button CenterButton from the current position and add it at the bottom of everything, still inside the relative layout, but below the linear layout
add those properties to the button to make it center in the parent

You can use weight for such purposes for child items. Make layout_width for all of them as 0dp and set layout_weight as 1.

Give the three children in the topmost linear layout a gravity of 1 and a width of 0.

It's not clear what exactly is your problem. However, here are some general notes :
To center a View or a Layout inside RelativeView use layout_centerInParent="true"
To make a Layout on top of other layouts use FrameLayout
The order of the views/layouts in your xml file is important. The one you write the last will be on the top (in our example : the FrameLayout or just the CenterButton should be written after the other views and layouts in your xml file)
To distribute the available space inside LinearLayout among its views use android:layout_weight="1" (change the value according to your needs)

Change height of a custom actionbar using java

I am stuck in an issue. I'm a junior android developer. I want to change the height of my custom action bar on a click event. But I'm not able to find a way
how to change actionbar's height. I saw other related posts, but didnt find exactly what I need.
I want to toggle a hidden layout part of action bar, upon click event. The height of action should fit to the content size each time.

On a click event, i want to toggle the second inner linear layout. Is It possible? or should i use fragments in activity?

If what you mean is that you want make the 2nd LinearLayout (the one that has visibility:"gone") be visible on a click event. You have first to set an id for that layout and do something like this:
LinearLayout yourLinearLayout =(LinearLayout)findViewById(R.id.yourLinearLayoutId);
and inside your click event
yourLinearLayout.setVisibility(View.Visible);
that will make your layout appear and because the father has layout_height="wrap_content" it will fit to the size of the child when it is visible.
