Problem with Translucent Navigation bar in Android

I'm using Translucent Navigation bar by adding below attribute to make my app mobile nav menu looks like some Google apps where mobile nav bar is a bit transparent and content will visible through it.

But my output is it
I don't want my views to go under it. I just need it when there is More content to scroll on screen like when there is a scrolling activity or in recyclerview. But at the end I need my activity views to not overlap by it.
Any suggestions please...

You may need to apply insets to have space between bottom of the device and navigationbar. RootView is the top layout on xml file.
rootView.setOnApplyWindowInsetsListener { view, insets ->

}

With this snippet you will have transparent navigationbar but your RecyclerView will always be above navigationBar.
And add
android:clipToPadding="false"
flag, this works with RecyclerView, and other scrollable views i guess.

What you could try for a static view is:
android:layout_marginBottom="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
If in a ScrollView this obviously won´t work but you can still try to play around wiht different layers inside the xml and fit a margin or padding if needed.
Otherwise it might be helpful if you post your xml file to actually see what you try to implement.

It is possible in both ScrollView and Recyclerview.
If there is scrollview in your Xml file then you should create
two other layout(ex: LinearLayout1 as Scrollview child Layout and
LinearLayout2 as LinearLayout1 child Layout) as a child layouts and
set bottom margin in the Secode child layout(LinearLayout2) same as
your bottom navigationBar height.
Well, here is the example how you can get bottom navigationBar height.

Note: The height of the navigationBar is in px. So, you have to set margin of your child layout in px.
For Recyclerview, you can give bottom margin(RunTime) of parent
layout in adapter class for the last item of the recyclerView
same as navigationBar height.
Example:

TabLayout Fragment Issue

Current layout
The above is the app layout in Android app that I am working on. There is an activity, which has a BottomNavigationView. The navigation is managed using:
this.getSupportFragmentManager().beginTransaction().replace(R.id.content, fragment).commit();
Now, on this fragment, I have a TabLayout and a ViewPager as you can see in the image. The ViewPager listens to the TabLayout selector and it can be changed by either sliding the ViewPager or clicking on the tab. Works fine..
Once a tab is selected, I am loading another Fragment that has a RecyclerView on it. The contents in the RecyclerView is coming from a URL so its being updated on Post() as below:

Now the issue that I am facing:
Everything works fine for the first time when the Menu 1 in the layout image is clicked. The recycler view is able to call the service and load the content. Now if I switch the navigation to Menu 2 or any other and try to come back to Menu 1, nothing progresses from the ViewPager / TabLayout. Up to the TabLayout I can see Logs, and after that nothing. Basically setting the currentItem to the TabLayout is called but its not calling the create of the next Fragment and hence its not loading the RecyclerView again. The ViewPager is using FragmentStatePagerAdapter.
TabViewerAdapter extends FragmentStatePagerAdapter
The adapter is initialised using ChildFragmentAdapter as below:
TabViewerAdapter adapter = new TabViewerAdapter(getChildFragmentManager(), 0, tabs.getTabCount());
I know behaviour "0" is deprecated so tried with "1" as well as below:
TabViewerAdapter adapter = new TabViewerAdapter(getChildFragmentManager(), 1, tabs.getTabCount());
Tried invalidating views, notifying adapter and many other.. No use.
I also noticed that when I switch app (while its running by tapping the phone square button to go to another app) and come back (resume) then its loading the recycler view again.
This means, I am missing something and tried the onResume method. But didn't work.
Am I doing something stupid or against design patterns or conventions? No idea what to do..

I resolved this issue by doing the things below:
Used a SharedViewModel to handle the list
Used ListAdapter for RecyclerView
All good now.

Set card view's background using Remote View

I use the following codes to set background of view such as TextView, LinearLayout, and it works perfectly.
RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget);
views.setInt(R.id.textview, "setBackgroundColor", Color.parseColor(widgetTextColor.toString()));
But I try to set the background of CardView, it didn't works. I have tried
views.setInt(R.id.cardview, "setCardBackgroundColor", Color.parseColor(widgetTextColor.toString()));
Any workarounds?

Based on the developer documentation in this link, u cannot use cardview for App widgets

Disappear SmartTabLayout pageViewer content

I'm trying to use SmartTabLayout from here https://github.com/ogaclejapan/SmartTabLayout, and i have a drawer. When i'm clicking at item on drawer, i replace my fragment, to fragment with smarttablayout. For first time it's ok, smarttablayout have tabs with content, but when i click in drawer on the same item, content of tabs just disappear, and to show them back i have to scroll to the end, and scroll back, to show them. I don't have idea why.

Notes: If using fragment inside a ViewPager, Must be use Fragment#getChildFragmentManager().

PopupWindow hidden below status bar. Whats the solution?

In my App i have two popupWindows. I open them both like..
aboutView = getLayoutInflater().inflate(R.layout.layout_about, null);
aboutWindow = new PopupWindow(aboutView, LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT, LayoutParams.MATCH_PARENT);
aboutWindow.showAtLocation(findViewById(R.id.lay_main), Gravity.CENTER, 0, 0);
Both layouts are set to match_parent, where one of them opens just fine.
The second starts on the screens top, hidden below the Android status bar.
The reason must be within the layouts itself.
When i copy the good and just rename it..it shows up just fine.
When i change the content (add image views etc..), it's screwd up.
Is there a known reason?
EDIT:
I just figured out that i have an ScrollView in my layout..as soon as i remove that or change it to e.g. an RelativeView, thats when it slips under the status bar.
