Issue with creating a new project with Android Studio after an update - java

I'm here to write about an issue that I've tried to fix for 3 weeks.
I think I updated a tool in the SDK within Android Studio (not sure which one).After this, I saw a lot of different issues that caused all my projects to stop working. I uninstalled it and deleted all my data of installations SDK NDK and reinstalled it, but I see the same error.
When I create a new Android Studio project I get these issues:
Access Deniel: I followed all instructions which results in the second issue.
you should use version Kotlin 1.2.51 or higher: I
don't use Kotlin in my project and the version of Gradle is 3.1.0, which was working correctly before.
Following the instructions, I updated the version of Kotlin in my project to 1.2.51, I received a lot of issues:

I don't get your whole problem but in that case - error: unescaped apostrophe in string, the string you provided SHOULD BE MODIFIED. You must add backslash before the apostrophe like this-
\"Safin click, it is a oneself.\n\n All have made and click.\n\n After days.\n Thank you safineas.\"

Android Studio Error compileDebugJavaWithJavac

I keep getting this error
Error:Execution failed for task ':app:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'.
Unexpected lock protocol found in lock file. Expected 3, found 0.
Thinkgs I've tried doing:
Deleting .gradle file and restarting android studio
Project structure > JDK path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_91
Downloaded every item in the SDK manager and installation was successful
Project Structure > app > Build Tools Version tried whats on the list
Note: This error only appears when I try to run the program. If I never touch the run button all my code and builds are clean and successful, until I try running for the first time and it never goes if I try running again
Other posts about this problem is very confusing since there is no right answer on how to do this and all the answers aren't supported with feedback
Thanks in advance!
Try deleting this file:
c: \ users \ [myusername] \ .gradle \ caches \ 2.14.1
and restart the Android Studio

Gradle aapt error: syntax ")" not found on Android Studio 1.5.1 Linux

Unburden
First of all, I would like to unburden: Android Studio completely sucks and it is by far the worst big IDE I've used all my life long! I got stuck on errors just for opening that thing! And when I have hardly fixed one, seventeen new ones come rightly from the hell to my screen! I am (trying) to use that piece of [you know] for 4 days now, and till now I was not able to code one single line of code! What does an IDE is supposed to be useful for again?
-- Edit1: I just installed the full 1.4.1 version right now and first thing it showed me was: WizardException: Ignoring unknown package filter 'source-25' and others errors.
-- Edit2: I did a new FRESH Mint 18 install in a completely clean partition, installed only Java 7 (Oracle) and tried to run the AS-1.5.1 but... the same error on install and a subtle different log of error messages (please, see the log here) when gradleing.
The problem
Ok, the last problem (1.5.1) is that now I am trying to make gradle to build the "project" (it is just an empty activity created by the wizard, default code untouched) and I get this error:
~/AndroidStudioProjects/MyApplication $ gradle clean build --stacktrace
Incremental java compilation is an incubating feature.

--- UPDATE: Please, see this other log of the external terminal used to run AS ---
What I've tried to solve that:
Install aapt system-wide;
Switch from Java 8 to Java 7;
Change gradle to off-line;
Change JDK configs to switch from the AS one to the system one;
Set SLAVE_AAPT_TIMEOUT to 30 (I changed back as you can see in the log link)
Set ANDROID_EMULATOR_FORCE_32BIT to true;
Install via ubuntu-make and also via ppa;
And so many others things I could find over Internet.
Environment specs
Linux Mint 18 (32 bits)
AS 1.5.1 (now (trying to use) 2.1.0)
Java Oracle 8 (Already tried the 7)
Why don't I just switch to Eclipse with plug-in
I have a course in mind (in Udacity) and they use that "thing" and it is a prerequisite. I've sent 3 e-mails to them questioning about the possibility of use other IDEs but without answer after 4 days, unfortunately.
Thank you so much for any help!
That error looks like your build tools aren't properly installed/set up. The aapt distributed with the build tools is versioned/linked with the tools, so studio probably isn't going to grab the random system level one. Have you attempted to install them, or did the older Studio version fail to prompt you to do so?
Beyond that, I'm afraid that Studio 1.4 is very deprecated and was missing many, many fixes that are in the newer versions, so it's somewhat likely that you would run into random errors with that version :-( What errors were you encountering with 2.2.1? It would be easier for the Studio team to help address those versus anything you find in 1.4.
My solution? Buy a 64 bits laptop! No installation error, no gradle error, no java error, no error anymore.

'Symbol lookup error' with netlib-java

Background & Problem
I am having a bit of trouble running the examples in Spark's MLLib on a machine running Fedora 23. I have built Spark 1.6.2 with the following options per Spark documentation:
build/mvn -Pnetlib-lgpl -Pyarn -Phadoop-2.4 \
-Dhadoop.version=2.4.0 -DskipTests clean package
and upon running the binary classification example:
bin/spark-submit --class org.apache.spark.examples.mllib.BinaryClassification \
examples/target/scala-*/spark-examples-*.jar \
--algorithm LR --regType L2 --regParam 1.0 \
data/mllib/sample_binary_classification_data.txt
I receive the following error:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.92-1.b14.fc23.x86_64/jre/bin/java: symbol lookup error: /tmp/jniloader5830472710956533873netlib-native_system-linux-x86_64.so: undefined symbol: cblas_dscal
Errors of this form (symbol lookup error with netlib) are not limited to this particular example. On the other hand, the Elastic Net example (./bin/run-example ml.LinearRegressionWithElasticNetExample) runs without a problem.
Attempted Solutions
I have tried a number of solutions to no avail. For example, I went through some of the advice here https://datasciencemadesimpler.wordpress.com/tag/blas/, and while I can successfully import from com.github.fommil.netlib.BLAS and LAPACK, the aforementioned symbol lookup error persists.
I have read through the netlib-java documentation at fommil/netlib-java, and have ensured my system has the libblas and liblapack shared object files:
$ ls /usr/lib64 | grep libblas
libblas.so
libblas.so.3
libblas.so.3.5
libblas.so.3.5.0
$ ls /usr/lib64 | grep liblapack
liblapacke.so
liblapacke.so.3
liblapacke.so.3.5
liblapacke.so.3.5.0
liblapack.so
liblapack.so.3
liblapack.so.3.5
liblapack.so.3.5.0
The most promising advice I found was here http://fossdev.blogspot.com/2015/12/scala-breeze-blas-lapack-on-linux.html, which suggests including
JAVA_OPTS="- Dcom.github.fommil.netlib.BLAS=com.github.fommil.netlib.NativeRefBLAS"
in the sbt script. So, I included appended those options to _COMPILE_JVM_OPTS="..." in the build/mvn script, which also did not resolve the problem.
Finally, a last bit of advice I found online suggested passing the following flags to sbt:
sbt -Dcom.github.fommil.netlib.BLAS=com.github.fommil.netlib.F2jBLAS \
-Dcom.github.fommil.netlib.LAPACK=com.github.fommil.netlib.F2jLAPACK \
-Dcom.github.fommil.netlib.ARPACK=com.github.fommil.netlib.F2jARPACK
and again the issue persists. I am limited to two links in my post, but the advice can be found as the README.md of lildata's 'scaladatascience' repo on github.
Has anybody suffered this issue and successfully resolved it? Any and all help or advice is deeply appreciated.
It's been a couple months, but I got back to this problem and was able to get a functioning workaround (posting here in case anybody else has the same issue).
It came down to library precedence; so, by calling:
$ export LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/libopenblas.so
prior to launching Spark, everything works as expected.
I figured out the solution after reading:
https://github.com/fommil/netlib-java/issues/88 (directly addresses this issue)
JNI "symbol lookup error" in shared library on Linux (similar linking issue, doesn't have to do with Spark but answers are informative with regards to linking)

Smart can't install...no package provides shared object file

Problem
I'm attempting to create a Bitbake recipe which will install Oracle JRE 8 onto my target OS.
I've tried to use metadata from meta-oracle-java, but had some difficulties due to one of the .inc files which are provided for general JREs has a JRE-7-specific URI.
I've changed some of the metadata from meta-oracle-java and created my own recipe to do this install.
Tests
A Build of the JRE Recipe by Itself
When building the recipe by itself:
bitbake oracle-jse-jre
The build completes without error. I've added a dependency on libav into the oracle-jse-jre recipe, so I can do the following from TMPDIR:
$ find . -name libavformat*so
./work/core2-64-poky-linux/libav/9.18-r0/sysroot-destdir/usr/lib/libavformat.so.54.20.4
./work/core2-64-poky-linux/libav/9.18-r0/sysroot-destdir/usr/lib/libavformat.so
./work/core2-64-poky-linux/libav/9.18-r0/sysroot-destdir/usr/lib/libavformat.so.54
./sysroots/genericx86-64/usr/lib/libavformat.so.54.20.4
./sysroots/genericx86-64/usr/lib/libavformat.so
./sysroots/genericx86-64/usr/lib/libavformat.so.54
Runtime Dependency Success
If I add the default package from the oracle-jse-jre recipe to RDEPENDS_${PN} of another recipe xenoros_0.1.bb, I can run bitbake xenoros and build without errors.
Core Image Failure
If I add xenoros to the IMAGE_INSTALL variable of a core-image-xenoros, the build fails with the following error:
ERROR: Unable to install packages. Command '/home/presslertj/yocto-OS/poky-jethro-build/build/tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/usr/bin/smart --log-level=warning --data-dir=/home/presslertj/yocto-OS/poky-jethro-build/build/tmp/work/genericx86_64-poky-linux/core-image-my-server/1.0-r0/rootfs/var/lib/smart install -y message-generation#core2_64 catkin#core2_64 python-distutils#core2_64 ldd#core2_64 xenoros#core2_64 rosgraph#core2_64 gedit#core2_64 actionlib#core2_64 python-compression#core2_64 dhcp-server#core2_64 libpthread-stubs#core2_64 tf2#core2_64 python-email#core2_64 catkin-dev#core2_64 git#core2_64 rosbash#core2_64 python-json#core2_64 python-wstool#core2_64 connman#core2_64 ros-config#core2_64 packagegroup-core-boot#genericx86_64 libsdl-1.2-0#core2_64 rosjava#core2_64 quagga#core2_64 nginx#core2_64 rospy#core2_64 apt#core2_64 libc6#core2_64 netcat#core2_64 shadow#core2_64 bash#core2_64 roscpp#core2_64 roslaunch#core2_64 run-postinsts#all python-rosinstall#core2_64 elfutils#core2_64 openssl#core2_64 font-alias#all gradle#core2_64 python-catkin-pkg#core2_64 catkin-runtime#core2_64 catkin-runtime-dev#core2_64 pciutils#core2_64 base-passwd#core2_64' returned 1:

ERROR: Task 7 (/home/presslertj/yocto-OS/poky-jethro-build/meta-myLayer/recipes-core/images/core-image-my-server.bb, do_rootfs) failed with exit code '1'
Looking inside TMPDIR, I can find this:
/sysroots/genericx86-64/usr/lib/libavformat.so.54
It seems there's a version mismatch, where smart expects version 53, but 54 is provided.
Reverting libav's version
Just to test what's going on, I've made a recipe which fetches version 0.8.17 of libav (which uses version 53). When using this instead of 9.18, I have the exact opposite problem, that smart expects but can't find version 54.
Questions
How does smart determine the version number for these shared object files?
What about the do_rootfs() task causes the build to fail at this specific time?
Is there a simple resolution to my specific problem?
1) It's not smart, but rather rpmbuild, that is adding dependencies derived from the ELF DT_NEEDED field (see elfutils -a).
2) The do_rootfs() task is failing because of unresolved dependencies.
3) Since you are using Poky/Yocto and rpm5, there is a simple way to mask the issue (substituting whatever dependencies are causing you heartburn)
echo "unresoved_dependency" > /etc/rpm/sysinfo/Providename
That is just a band-aid; you still need to figure out the packaging issues rather than masking the underlying problem with how you are building rpm packages.
For anyone that still encounter this error: as stated in the README file of the meta-oracle-java repo
There are some known install problems for JRE packages due to dependencies reported by RPM package manager.
Switching to DEB or IPK packaging temporarily fixes this.
ie:
PACKAGE_CLASSES = "package_deb"
or
PACKAGE_CLASSES = "package_ipk"
in your 'local.conf' file

It's because your InAppBrowser plugin is out date and probably out of sync with a newer version of the Cordova Android platform than when you first installed the plugin. I was getting the same issue with cordova-android#4.0.0 and 0.5.3 of InAppBrowser.
Fix is to first remove plugin
cordova plugin rm org.apache.cordova.inappbrowser
Then add it again (it should reinstall with the latest version the cordova CLI has in my case it grabbed 0.6). You can check the version in the RELEASENOTES.md in the plugins/org.apache.cordova.inappbrowser/ folder.
cordova plugin add org.apache.cordova.inappbrowser
You will need to remove the android platform and re-add it before building again so it doesn't keep the old version of the plugin.
cordova platform rm android
and
cordova platform add android
Now build again and the error should have gone.
EDIT: I just noticed at the top of your question you are using phonegap. Since you tagged with cordova (and thats what I use) I answered with cordova commands, but I'm guessing almost the same process applies with Phonegap.
Same problem with cordova-android#4.0.0
Thank's JDawgg your solution's better than mine, but if someone still have the bug you can use cordova-android#3.6.4 like this :
cordova platform remove android
then
cordova platform add android#3.6.4
you must have android 4.2.2 sdk installed
Finally
sudo phonegap build android
In case someone is using Meteor and came across the same problem, martijnwalraven suggests removing the older version of cordova-plugin-inappbrowser and add the most recent one:
$ meteor remove cordova:cordova-plugin-inappbrowser
$ meteor add cordova:cordova-plugin-inappbrowser#1.0.1
This did the trick for me!
