Using java to open a web browser on another computer - java

So, this is a rather unusual question, and I can't find anything else anywhere which has been helpful on how to do this, or if its even possible to do so.
I'm working on a game server wrote in java, and I'm trying to get the users default web browser to open to a specific link, when a command is typed into the chat box and sent to the server.
The current Issue I have is, when a user issues the command, it opens the browser on the host system, and not the players system.
I haven't been able to try any other methods, as I am unable to find any information regarding my specific situation!

What I was hoping for via this code, was to open the web browser on the players system to allow them to view a specific webpage, but this has not been the case, and opens it on the server host system.

How do I know if the app has been downloaded from Google Play once

I have an Android mobile application that works with the membership system.
There are links to other mobile applications and games in my application.
With Packet Manager, I can check whether the application in the link is installed on the phone. My goal is to check whether users have downloaded the game and mobile applications on the device by clicking the links in my application.
If they downloaded the application in the given link once (first time), they will earn 10 points. If they download the same application many times, they will be considered as one time.
I wanted to ask you that If users download an app more than once, how do I count it just one time?

The short answer is: you can't.
There is no way to know, locally, on an Android device, how many times the user installed or uninstalled an app.
The long answer is that there may be some workarounds, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
While your app is installed, you could register to ACTION_PACKAGE_ADDED and ACTION_PACKAGE_REMOVED broadcasts.
These will be called every time the user installs or removes any app.
They have EXTRA_PACKAGE_NAME that contains the app package name.
This however, presents some problems:
This will only work while your app is installed and the user has opened your app at least once.
You will receive this broadcast for any app, and will have to filter the results yourself.
If the user clears data or uninstalls and reinstalls your app, you will lose count.
Another way, and how most apps do it, is by using a referral framework.
One example is Iron Source which will let you set up rewards for installing and using different apps.
If the other app is also yours, you can simply use Firebase.
Note however, that referral tracking compromises user privacy, so you have to be careful to comply with any local laws such as GDPR.
Also, using these frameworks may cost money.

If user install application and Script triggers (eg on app opening) add points. Add points only if Link has been marked as clicked.
Mark the link in config file as used to not give more points from the same app.

.msi file launched with java closes after a few seconds.

I am trying to launch MySql server installer which is in my resources folder but it terminates after a few seconds. However if I launch it manually it runs okay until the end. Below is my code.

Okay, it was just an advice, lets come to your case, Windows OS has certain set of security restrictions which allows only administrator to install or remove any application.
That is why, we see a promt window asking for Administrator password (or Admin's permission as YES/NO type, in case user has logged in as admin), and the promt screen is the heart of it's security, as it don't allow ANY OTHER APPLICATION TO HAVE CONTROL ON IT.
If you do a remote desktop via third party, you will never see the client machines promt screen (this is because of security constraints), so in your case, your java application is third party app which don't have enough permission to continue the operation further.
Hence it closes after few seconds.
How ever, you can start and stop already installed services by allowing permission once in your windows service control. So I was suggesting you to play with service only.

Accessing HBase REST API through Java Applet

I am currently writing a small Java applet to access HBase data using the REST API. Accessing the data using Java is not particularly difficult, I have done this successfully. When running on a machine in my HDP cluster, the results are perfect. However when running as an applet I get no results at all. (I have chosen an applet since distributing an executable JAR is something my boss wants to avoid)
Having finally found what I believe to be the underlying issue, I have found the following runtime exception: hbase-default.xml file seems to be for an older version of HBase (null), this version is 1.1.2.2.4.0.0-169. My assumption is that this is caused by the fact that my local machine does not have HBase at all. The intention is that users will be able to view their own data from a local machine, and so I cannot expect all users to have HBase (or anything other than a browser)
My question really has two parts:
Is there anyway to get an applet like this to work?
Is there a better alternative to an applet for this kind of work?

While I haven't been able to solve this problem for an applet itself, I managed to get the app working by moving over the a JNLP app (JNLP). Given this, I suspect the underlying problem was a permissions issue due to the fact that applets run in a sandbox. This is fine, since I am aware that most browsers are moving away from Java plugins.
Another possible cause I discovered: hbase-default.xml must be in the root folder of the jar.

How to control the handset using AT commands in java

I know that by using AT commands we can control the handset.As example unlocking screen we can give a specific AT command or moving right to the menu or left or bottom or up we can give specific AT commands. What all are the AT commands for doing this kind of control.

From what I understand, the AT commands are more used for phone-type functions (making calls, or sending SMS, etc), rather than menu navigation, etc.

If you wanted to send SMS from a handset connected to your computer you might want to take a peek at this page: http://www.developershome.com/sms/atCommandsIntro.asp
If you wanted more control when performing functions, like sending SMS, etc, you might want to investigate "PDU Mode."
It is entirely possible that some handset manufacturers may have implemented additional +AT commands to allow other functions to be performed, so you might do better by specifically searching for the commands related to the handset you are using.
(Of course, if you're having issues connecting to the handset hardware itself, you need to ensure you have either the javax.comm extension or some favoured Java USB API installed)

How can I make a java applet connect with a server?

Please excuse my noobishness as I am teaching myself Java and don't know a lot.
I'm trying to make a multiplayer game that runs from Java applets, I have a server-side program working that will accept strings of text, but all my attempts to find code for applets have failed.
My best attempt looks like it works but I think fails to connect to the server, any ideas why? (localIP is my correct IP and works fine in other tests)

I don't mind scrapping this if someone can tell me a better way to do it or any way at all.
a java applet can only connect to the server from which it was downloaded. if you are not loading the applet from localIP, then you will not be able to connect to it.
you may be able to get around this restriction by signing the applet.
Given that you are not using the Http Protocol, One assumes that the applet is loaded from another port other than 5555. If this is the case, the applet needs to be signed in order to do this functionality.
