How to make toolbar edge transparent? - java

I have a toolbar sitting on top of a tab layout. Both of these will utilize the same color gradient as a background. I'm trying to get rid of the edge on the toolbar or tab layout so that they blend together, because right now there's a black line in between both of them. Is there any way to make this line between them transparent? I've done it before on Xcode before.

How to put a spinner between a list view and a App Bar

I am currently working on an application to help manage bills. I have an activity that list the bills. I am trying to put a spinner between a list of bills and the title at the top. Is there a way to put the spinner so that it is at the top of the listView but below the app bar.?
This is what the app looks like:

DISMISS THIS
As suggested in the comments why not use a LinearLayout with vertical orientation and put the spinner as the first child with height wrap_content and then below it the listview with height 0dp and layout_weight set to 1
NEW PROPOSAL

I have to comment the popup theme because I don't have it.
Also you need to use a theme with .NoActionBar because you're suppling the action bar and on the Activity containing this layout you need to call:
Toolbar toolbar = findViewById(R.id.toolbar);
setSupportActionBar(toolbar);
Was it what you're looking for?

AppBarLayout with tabs and ViewPager

I have a problem with TabLayoutand AppBarLayout, because I want my tabs to be at the bottom and right now they are at the top, they hide with the image as I scroll up. And there's the second problem - AppBarLayout with image doesn't hide as I scroll the text, it only hides/shows as I try to scroll image at the top

Edit:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

android:padding="16dp"
android:lineSpacingMultiplier="1.2"

</ScrollView>
Scroll view doesn't support Appbar behaviors, change it to NestedScrollView and use the following layout:
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/sliding_tabs"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"/>
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/viewpager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"/>
</LinearLayout
Try to add gravity to your TabLayout like this:
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/sliding_tabs"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="bottom"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
/>
Edit:
In order to have the TabLayout below CollapsingToolbarLayout, simply put it into your ViewPager, like this:
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/viewpager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/sliding_tabs"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"/>
</android.support.v4.view.ViewPager>
Please change your code to this:
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/main_content"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:paddingTop="#dimen/app_bar_padding"
android:background="#drawable/dash_bar"
android:layout_height="192dp">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"

<ImageView
android:id="#+id/expandedImage"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="200dp"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax">
</android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar>
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/tab_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:layout_gravity="bottom"
app:tabMaxWidth="0dp"
app:tabGravity="fill"
app:tabIndicatorColor="#ffffff"
app:tabTextColor="#b3ffffff"
android:background="#00000000"
app:tabSelectedTextColor="#ffffff"
app:tabIndicatorHeight="5dp"
app:tabMode="fixed" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/pager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Now to hide the image while scrolling the text, add this line to the View thats scrolling (i am assuming you just used textView and scrollbars there):
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"

Can you please tell me where to add the ViewPager and dotindicator(LinearLayout) inside the collapsible toolbar?
The container layout-RelativeLayout of the ViewPager and LinearLayout should be inside CollapsingToolbarLayout. And set the property like this to make it collapsible with scroll events.
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"

Fragment content overlapping toolbar

Implementing a BottomNavigationView with viewpager and tablayout.Each navigation view is a fragment in first fragment ("NewsFeedFragment") i want to use tablayout attached with a viewpager. Result come correct but the content of the fragment overlaps the parent toolbar.
Here is how i am trying to use it.

Android Toolbar scroll behavior

I want that the Toolbar will have the behavior of scroll|enter_always. However, when I scroll, the bottom of the Toolbar shows under my Transparent status bar, and gets stuck there.
What do you think the problem is with my layout?
