Failing to deploy spring-boot WAR to Elastic Beanstalk - java

I'm having trouble deploying my WAR file to elastic beanstalk (Tomcat). I've downloaded the logs and I'm getting a bunch of errors https://pastebin.com/bVTjLJDD
I tested this WAR file successfully with Apache Tomcat deployed locally on my PC, so I don't know what is causing these errors.

I've extended SpringBootServletInitializer in the main class. As seen in pom.xml I also set the tag for the tomcat dependency. Everything works fine when tested on the local Apache Tomcat server. What could be the issue here?


Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'defaultValidator' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/validation/ValidationAutoConfiguration.class]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.hibernate.validator.internal.engine.valueextraction.ValueExtractorManager
Might be because of this, the war is not deployed.
Make sure you have all the libraries in place while making the WAR.
Please check the library is used only for compile or something.

How to I remove one of the versions of javax.persistence.JoinTable?

Multiple javax.persistence.JoinTable
The issue is most likely related to the duplicate javax.persistence.* libraries. I see you have the following two dependencies

Make sure to run a mvn clean before packaging and testing the new jar file
Non Maven lib directory
It also looks like there is a lib directory in your project that may have dependencies that are not managed by Maven. Please delete at least the javax.persistence library from that location

Different behaviour of java spring boot application in intellij run and terminal

I have a spring boot application build in maven and open it in intellij when I run the main class then it will run successfully and receive the API responses as expected. But when I run same application in the terminal using mvn spring-boot:run then application run successfully but the responses of the api is different then expected.

Spring-Boot-Maven-Plugin - Command to Copy Resources into WAR Main Directory

QUESTION
In a Spring Boot Java application built with Maven using the spring-boot-maven-plugin with WAR packaging through Eclipse IDE with M2 with the goal as clean package, I would like to know if there is a command which would allow me to copy the resource folders (css, images, etc) which currently end up in mywar.war/WEB-INF/classes/static/ into the root directory mywar.war, so that I have mywar.war/images/, etc?
I see that with other plugins, there is something like a targetPath, but I can't find anything like that in the documentation for spring-boot-maven-plugin.

So, I ended up getting around this by moving all of my resources from the /src/main/resources/static directory into a /src/main/webapp directory. Then everything appeared right under the root of the resulting WAR file, and the Apache HTTP Server picked them up and allowed them through.

Everything will work as expected. Spring Boot will server your static content.
The urls will be
<host>:<port>/<warname>/css
<host>:<port>/<warname>/images
etc.

Exact Location to keep JSP files in a spring Boot App

I am new to spring boot and I have created a simple app using spring boot but I am not sure where I should keep my views(JSP's and HTML). I tried keeping it in src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/jsp/ folder but somehow its not rendering my views neither I am getting any error message. I have tried both jar and war packaging types. I have also put
spring.mvc.view.prefix: /WEB-INF/jsp/
spring.mvc.view.suffix: .jsp
in application.properties file.

Tomcat springboot application LifecycleException

I have an SpringBoot aplication that works on my Spring Tool Suite, but when i try to deploy it on a tomcat(8) server on other machine i get this:
FAIL - Application at context path [/aplicacoes] could not be started
FAIL - Encountered exception [org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: Failed to start component [StandardEngine[Catalina].StandardHost[localhost].StandardContext[/aplicacoes]]]
I found a lot of different explanations and none worked, yet.
Anyone have any idea what it can be?

I re-downloaded the Tomcat and re-instaled the postgres and now just works.
