Why I use 'androidx.appcompat.widget.Toolbar' to set toolbar，the app forced termination

when the app used setSupportActionBar() ,it can not to run.but can compile.

I can compile it, but when open this active.the app forced termination
I delete this code in active.java
setSupportActionBar(mToolbar);
it's can run.
I want to add a back_button.
what's wrong?

Empty space on top of toolbar. Android, Java

I just included an options menu in my app, but in one of my activities it seems to create a white empty space- can anyone tell me why??
It work in other activities in the same app, but not this single activity.

Remove android:gravity="center_vertical" from your layout. Then your layout will be as below:

Toolbar menu being cleared after being set (When activity is started)

Toolbar menu is inflated in fragment but then cleared later.
When activity is first created (or rotated) the toolbar menu is inflated properly in the fragment, but then gets cleared before it can be displayed.
I set the toolbar menu in my fragment's onActivityCreated, and it stays set through onResume in the activity. The next call I've found is in onCreateOptionsMenu in the activity, but at this point toolbar.getMenu().size() = 0
Somewhere between onResume and onCreateOptionsMenu the toolbar menu is getting reset.

The problem in my current code as posted was the line setSupportActionBar(toolbar);
This was not needed, and was in fact causing the troubling lifecycle problems stated above.

Toolbar not showing up?

I am trying to implement a toolbar in my activity but it doesn't seem to work. My MainActivity is a ViewPager, which contains Fragments 1 and 2. I tried to implement my toolbar directly into the Viewpager, this didn't work so instead I tried to wrap my Viewpager in a RelativeLayout and include the toolbar in that RelativeLayout, but this also doesn't work.
The layout for my toolbar (app_bar.xml):

Try to remove id from include tag and add android:layout_below="#+id/app_bar" to your ViewPager.

Change your toolbar height from wrap_content to you ?attr/actionBarSize as shown below:

Navigation Drawer below Status Bar

I'm tring to make a Navigation Drawer using Design Support Library. In my activity_main i wrote this code.

When i run my application it works and show the Navigation Drawer but it's below the Status Bar and not above. How can i move it to stay above the StatusBar?

Simply adding android:fitsSystemWindows="false" to DrawerLayout will solve the problem.

Make your activity as full screen to overcome status bar as below or any other method as available on WWW: but it's not good to have drawer over status bar.
