your have externalized the application.properties file. There are multiple way to fix this issue two of them I'm writing down below:---
1st way to solve:--
Create a config folder where you placed the the jar file n put the application.properties inside the config folder.
Ex-
if your jar is inside /home/user folder
then your property file should be inside /home/user/config/application.properties
then run :
java -jar <yourjar>
2nd way to solve:--
Give the correct path location :--
java -jar <yourjar> --spring.config.location=<property file path>

Quarkus cannot find valid Docker environment for databases

When I put quarkus.datasource.db-kind to either derby or h2, quarkusDev runs fine.
However, when I try putting quarkus.datasource.db-kind to db2 (tried postgresql with the same result) I get the following error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not find a valid Docker Environment.
I'm assuming that quarkus is trying to fetch a docker container for starting the database, but cannot find it. It does occurs a bit strange to be that quarkus is trying to start a database in quarkusDev-mode, but anyways.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

What you are seeing is Quarkus attempting to launch a container to run the database because you have not specified a quarkus.datasource.jdbc.url.
This feature is called DevServices and you find more information about it here.
This feature essentially kicks in in dev and test modes when you have not specified the database to be used.
You can explicitly run it off using quarkus.datasource.devservices.enabled=false or by setting quarkus.datasource.jdbc.url to a URL of a running database

How to solve "Graphics Device initialization failed for : d3d, sw" when running a java Jar file with JavaFx

Good Afternoon everyone.
I'm having a problem when I try to run my Java Code as a Runnable Jar file. I'm using Eclipse and I created a normal Java Project. I included the JavaFX jars as a User Libary. The Program runs without a problem when I start it with the IDE. To create the Jar file I use the the build in Export of a Java Project in the Runnable Jar file.
When I check "Extract required libaries into generated JAR" and run it, I get this Error Message:
Error: JavaFX runtime components are missing, and are required to run this application
When I check "Package required libaries into generated JAR" and run it, I get this Error Message:

Does anyone know, why I cannot run the JAR but in the IDE it runs normally?
I installed JavaFX following the Documentation here https://openjfx.io/openjfx-docs/ .
I found a solution to my Problem. When I Export the Libaries into the Generated Jar I got the Error that the JavaFX Runtime components are missing. I now remembered that I got the same Error in Eclipse before although there was no Error in the Code and I used JavaFX elements. But to get it up and running I had to add VM Arguments. So I only had to write this in the command promt when I wanted to run the program.
Assuming you already are in the directory of your build Jar file:
java --module-path "C:\Path\to\javafx-sdk-13.0.2\lib" --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.fxml -jar YourJar.jar
It's working now for me. Hope it will help others too.
Best Wishes
Check your built jar file manifest file to see what are its dependencies. There will be an variable called Class-path:
U can do this by right clicking on the jar file and opening with winrar or normal explorer META.INF
If they all begin with libs/ then create an libs folder where your built jar file is located and copy all javafx specified jar files into that folder and then execute

com4j works in eclipse but not working in jar

I wrote a tool (using spring boot) to get the details from HP QC v10. I'm using com4j API for this. Program works fine in eclipse but throws following Exception when I'm running code through jar (which I have created using maven install).
I have generated the wrapper for OTAClient.dll and made jar file of wrapper qcconn.jar. Also I have registered the dll files : OTAClient.dll, WebClient.dll and com4j-amd64.dll. I'm using jdk 8 (32 bit).
I checked jar file of my tool which was generated by maven install and it has both jar included in it : com4j.jar and qcconn.jar.
Exception is thrown when I ran jar file : java -jar mytool.jar

Split Spring Boot fat jar to two jars (app / libs)

To optimise Docker layers, I am trying to split our 30M Spring Boot fat jar into the 2M app.jar and 28M libs.jar.
I can use exploded mode, but I prefer using 2 jars, because it simplifies a few things, such as deployments, scripts etc. In particular the fat jar is more easily and intuitively executed with java -jar, as opposed to the more cumbersome java org.springframework.boot.loader....Launcher.
My problem is that the moment I separate the libs out, I can't get the Launcher to find them. In either jar or exploded mode (with two dirs) - I keep getting

Any idea how I can get this to work?
It seems that the Spring Boot thin launcher is what you're looking for.

I am copied mysql-connector-java-5.1.28.jar in /usr/share/java but still, this error persists.
Can somebody point me to a direction?
Better to leave /usr/share/java untouched. Anything you put there will be lost when you upgrade the next time. Instead, define your own common location for your drivers. If it is just for you, a subdirectory of your home location might be good: mkdir ~/jdbc.
Then copy your .jar for your jdbc driver in that location.
Then depending on how you run your java code, you will have to figure out how to include your jar's into your classpath.
standalone java program started with command-line java, then use the -cp parameter option.
Application Servers like Tomcat, or Weblogic, refer their documentation. Note that many suggest a drop location within the app server install, but for the same reasons as for the /usr/share/java, I would advise not to do so. Actually tomcat allows you to separate out CATALINA_HOME from CATALINA_BASE to solve that issue.
Either way, it appears that the exception was generated from a simple main, not a web app, so I assume you can go for the first option.
