Vaadin object is not an instance of declaring class - java

I'm trying to call a method in class named (DataActions) to the dashboard view so the grid can be able to receive the objects given after the method execution, but still no luck solving this error (java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: object is not an instance of declaring class).
-Class (DataSession) is the class responsible for opening the database session.
-Class (DataActions) is the class responsible for the methods used to extract information from the database using a session created by an (DataSession object)
-Method updateGrid calls a method in (DataActions) using an object created.
This project was created with vaadin hello world example project, so it uses springboot (version 2.4.5) and vaadin flow (version 14.7.0).

I have found the solution, I was missing the annotation #Component in the class where the method is, and the annotation #Autowired where I want the instance of the class to be created.

How to fix Non-resolvable import POM: com.google.cloud:spring-cloud-gcp-dependencies

Trying to build spring-cloud-gcp from https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/spring-cloud-gcp
Many failed compile/install attempts due to failed tests (unit and checkstyle) - decided to just disable and/or not fail due to tests - great, that worked, entire build (all sub projects) compiled
Wanted to deploy the spring-cloud-gcp-data-firestore-sample (pom is below) to Cloud run, so changed the parent reference in the pom (as suggested/documented in the pom).
Now can't compile/install spring-cloud-gcp-data-firestore-sample and get this error "**Non-resolvable import POM: com.google.cloud:spring-cloud-gcp-dependencies:pom:2.3.12.RELEASE was not found in https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2**"
I've tried:
Adding additional spring maven repos to the pom (see pom below) - no luck, and based on the error message maven doesn't even seem to be checking the added repo's
referencing/using different versions of the spring-boot-starter-parent - no luck, nothing changed in the error
mvn -U clean compile - no luck
Anyone got any ideas? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You are inheriting version for com.google.cloud:spring-cloud-gcp-dependencies from project.version, which is 2.3.12.RELEASE in your case.
<dependency>
<groupId>com.google.cloud</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-cloud-gcp-dependencies</artifactId>
<version>${project.version}</version>
<type>pom</type>
<scope>import</scope>
</dependency>
When in fact, you want to specify a valid version as listed in maven repository.

Support/Alternative of Nashorn with Spring Native

In my company we use Nashorn in Java 11 and spring-boot which is working fine, but we recently decided to use spring-native with docker. We ended up to make the image build, but at startup, the project crash because the Nashorn is not supported (And will probably be never supported by graalVM).
Here is the error I get when tring to run the native image
We can't migrate easily from Nashorn to GraalVM.js and the deadline are short, so it's not a solution for us.
I'm asking here if you already had the issue, and how you overcame it.
I already tried to change the ScriptEngine from 'nashorn' to 'js' (which is available in my project), but it also failed at run time. We basically need for an engine which don't use 'invokedynamic' to compute js code.
An other solution would be : Export the Nashorn part as an external microservice.
But we prefere avoid using this solution, since the current implementation is working and it would add some security issue to considere to secure the communication. We will considere it only if we run out of solution ^^'
Here is the problematic code :
Engine.java
public class Engine {
public Engine() {
ScriptEngineManager manager = new ScriptEngineManager();
engine = manager.getEngineByName("nashorn");
}
}

Part 1.
Migration from Nashorn to GraalVM.js is standard topic and covered in documentation
https://www.graalvm.org/reference-manual/js/NashornMigrationGuide/
And most likely there will not be alternative (at least developed by Oracle)
Part 2. Spring Native (still experimental) is ongoing effort to build Spring application using native-image compiler from GraalVM to produce native-image. This project focuses on Spring project and js support will be out of scope, you would need again follow Oracle work.
During this native-image build, the engine like GraalVM.js (that is graalVM component) must be included into resulted app, and it may be non trivial.
And life advice: if you really under deadline, consider going with older technologies if you want to guarantee delivery. And use JDK before JDK15 where Nashorn is still present.

How to configure CircleCi for running a JVM option?

Context:
I have a Maven (Spring Boot, Vaadin, MongoDB) Application and I had the problem that the default SSL protocol was wrong, so I added in IntelliJ IDEA under VM Options:
-Djdk.tls.client.protocols=TLSv1.2
It worked fine.
Problem:
After that i tried to add this JVM argument to CircleCI (environment -> JAVA_OPTS) but i didn't work.
config.yml:
jobs:
- maven/test
test:
maven/test:
environment:
# Configure the JVM and Gradle to avoid OOM errors
_JAVA_OPTIONS: "-Djdk.tls.client.protocols=TLSv1.2"
So i tried to add a .mvn directory to my Project route and added a jvm.config file and also added the arg.
jvm.config file
config.yml
version: 2.1
orbs:
maven: circleci/maven#1.1

Using a Maven pom.xml file to contain a single, compatible version of a class of ConfigurableApplicationContext

I have a project that uses a Maven build configuration in IntelliJ.
I keep getting the following error:
The method's class, org.springframework.context.ConfigurableApplicationContext, is available from the following locations:
jar:file:/C:/Users/tlmitch/.m2/repository/org/springframework/spring-context/5.2.8.RELEASE/spring-context-5.2.8.RELEASE.jar!/org/springframework/context/ConfigurableApplicationContext.class
The class hierarchy was loaded from the following locations:
org.springframework.context.ConfigurableApplicationContext: file:/C:/Users/tlmitch/.m2/repository/org/springframework/spring-context/5.2.8.RELEASE/spring-context-5.2.8.RELEASE.jar
Action:
Correct the classpath of your application so that it contains a single, compatible version of org.springframework.context.ConfigurableApplicationContext
If I do a cntrl-shift-n and look for the class ConfigurableApplicationContext - it does come back with a list of 8 instances where the class exists.
From what digging I've done, it seems I should be looking at my pom.xml file for an artifactId of spring-context, and then putting in exclusion blocks that excludes all but one of the references.
Problem is, I can't find artifactIds in the pom.xml file that seem to correspond to the duplicate references. And if I just start excluding stuff at random I get into a lot more trouble than I start with.
Here is a shot of the multiple instances of the class:
And I've attached the pom.xml file.
If anyone could just point me in the right direction. Thanks so much; been having trouble making headway with this.

already tried running it using
java -jar -Dvaadin.productionMode=true my-jar.jar
But still wont work. I already have run out of ideas and currently working for a covid case tracker app with the same problem. Please help guys.
Problem solved. it seems that you need to add the app-layout component while your application is loading rather than adding it after your logged in.
found it here.. https://github.com/appreciated/vaadin-app-layout/issues/306
