Getting initialization error connecting to Oracle Driver - java

In my Spring Boot application I updated the application.properties to connect to Oracle DB as :
spring.datasource.url = jdbc:oracle:thin:#//${mysql.service.host}:${mysql.service.port}/${mysql.service.database}
spring.datasource.username = ${mysql.service.username}
spring.datasource.password = ${mysql.service.password}
spring.datasource.driver-class-name=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
and included the Oracle Driver dependency in build.gradle file as:
runtime group: 'com.oracle.database.jdbc', name: 'ojdbc11', version:'21.1.0.0'
But still facing error:
Caused by: org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [com.zaxxer.hikari.HikariDataSource]: Factory method 'dataSource' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot load driver class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

Stop Spring Boot tests from reaching out to authentication provider

I'm using spring boot for dependency injection and am running into Couldn't retrieve remote JWK set: Read timed out exceptions occasionally when running tests. In most of my tests, I don't actually care about authorization and would like to not make a network call if possible. I would still like to use the #SpringBootTest annotation to construct my services.
I've tried #MockBean(JwtDecoder.class) but still see test flakes. How can I prevent spring from trying to contact my JWT provider in my tests?
EDIT:
I've got an annotation I'm using to mark all my test classes that looks like this:
#SpringBootTest
#AutoConfigureMockMvc
#MockBean(JwtDecoder.class)
#EnableAutoConfiguration(
exclude = {
OAuth2ClientAutoConfiguration.class,
OAuth2ResourceServerAutoConfiguration.class,
SecurityAutoConfiguration.class,
})
#Target(ElementType.TYPE)
#Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME)
public #interface SpringTest {}

Do you mean that you want to disable all the spring-security stuff ? If yes, one quick thing that you can try is to disable all the auto configurations related to spring-security using #EnableAutoConfiguration :
#SpringBootTest
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude = {SecurityAutoConfiguration.class , OAuth2ClientAutoConfiguration.class,OAuth2ResourceServerAutoConfiguration.class})
public class FooTest{
}

Context -
I have a spring boot app and
I updated the spring-boot-starter-parent version from 1.5.12.RELEASE to 2.4.0
I had this dependency in my pom -
<dependency>
<groupId>com.google.guava</groupId>
<artifactId>guava</artifactId>
<version>30.1-android</version>
</dependency>
Now when I am running my app, I am getting this error -

I resolved this by completely removing guava dependency and its references from my project.
If you still need to use caching then try using Caffeine.
With some more research over the web, I was able to fix the same exception which was occurring in my project by adding spring-context-support to the project.
I did it by adding following dependency to my build.gradle:
compile("org.springframework:spring-context-support:4.1.7.RELEASE")
spring-context-support is a library that contains helper methods and classes for configuring the cache.
Here is the blog that I followed:

how to add local jar to maven project

I trying a small maven project, and I try to connect to db2 database, so I need the com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver jar for the connection.
I tried many method from internet but still fail, here is some of the method I tried:
edit in pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>com.ibm.db2</groupId>
<artifactId>db2jcc4</artifactId>
<version>10.5.0.7</version>
<scope>system</scope>
<systemPath>
/home/Workspace/book/springData/lib/db2jcc4-10.5.0.7.jar
</systemPath>
</dependency>
use maven command to install:
mvn install:install-file -Dfile=/home/Workspace/book/springData/lib/db2jcc4-10.5.0.7.jar -DpomFile=/home/Workspace/book/springData/pom.xml
or
mvn install:install-file -Dfile=/home/meow/Workspace/mbsb-cib/springData/lib/db2jcc4-10.5.0.7.jar -DgroupId=com.ibm.db2 -DartifactId=db2jcc4 -Dversion=10.5.0.7 -Dpackaging=jar -DgeneratePom=true
But, I am still hitting could not load JDBC driver.

Failed to configure a DataSource: 'url' attribute is not specified and no embedded datasource could be configured. SPRING

I've already checked all the similar questions and every answer says that I need to specify a driverClassName which I already do. Here is my application.yml:
spring:
application:
name: cibus-backend
datasource:
driverClassName: com.mysql.cj.jdbc.Driver
url: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/Cibus?useSSL=true
username: root
password: 1234567890
jpa:
show-sql: true
hibernate:
ddl-auto: update
properties:
hibernate:
format_sql: true
type: trace
database-platform: org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect
database: mysql
logging:
level:
org:
hibernate:
type: trace
Am I missing something? The weird thing is that a classmate of mine who has the same code can start the app perfectly well. This is why I think it has something to do with the path. Maybe spring isn't accessing the yml file. I included it in src.main.resources which is the default place where Spring looks for it.

Exception running application labtic.AppStarter
Here is the Gradle Build as I was asked to include it:
buildscript {

dependencies {
classpath("org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-gradle-plugin:${springBootVersion}")
}
}
apply plugin: 'java'
apply plugin: 'eclipse'
apply plugin: 'org.springframework.boot'
apply plugin: 'io.spring.dependency-management'

sourceCompatibility = 1.8
repositories {

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
To Fix the
Cannot determine embedded database error
Try Excluding the auto configuration of DataSource in the Spring Boot application class. You can do this using EnableAutoConfiguration
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
#SpringBootApplication
public class {...}
Also worth mentioning is what this looks like in Kotlin:
#SpringBootApplication(
exclude = [DataSourceAutoConfiguration::class]
)
class Launcher
...
... for those of us who write kotlin but who came here with the same error.
The solution that worked for me is the following
import org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.EnableAutoConfiguration;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.SpringBootApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.jdbc.DataSourceAutoConfiguration;
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
#SpringBootApplication
public class ApiApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(ApiApplication.class, args);
}
}
you need to enable autoconfig to jdbc in spring boot
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
add these lines and import below libraries
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
this works fine.
Adding below annotation worked for me:
#EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude={DataSourceAutoConfiguration.class})
#SpringBootApplication
public class ApiApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(ApiApplication.class, args);
}
}
Make sure your packaging attribute in pom.xml is war. It worked perfectly for me.
<packaging>war</packaging>

Spring Boot default test throws an IllegalStateException

I am starting to play with spring boot and I have problems with fresh new installation.
I have created initial project using http://start.spring.io .. here is my build.gradle:
buildscript {
ext {
springBootVersion = '1.2.5.RELEASE'
}
repositories {
mavenCentral()
}
dependencies {
classpath("org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-gradle-plugin:${springBootVersion}")
classpath("io.spring.gradle:dependency-management-plugin:0.5.2.RELEASE")
}
}
apply plugin: 'java'
apply plugin: 'eclipse'
apply plugin: 'idea'
apply plugin: 'spring-boot'
apply plugin: 'io.spring.dependency-management'
jar {
baseName = 'springboot-demo1'
version = '0.0.1-SNAPSHOT'
}
sourceCompatibility = 1.8
targetCompatibility = 1.8
repositories {
mavenCentral()
}
dependencies {
compile("org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-jdbc")
runtime("mysql:mysql-connector-java")
testCompile("org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-starter-test")
}
eclipse {
classpath {
containers.remove('org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER')
containers 'org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER/org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.launcher.StandardVMType/JavaSE-1.8'
}
}
task wrapper(type: Wrapper) {
gradleVersion = '2.3'
}
When I execute in the command line:
gradlew clean build
build fails. Here is the output:
D:\springboot-demo1>gradlew clean build

This is fresh new installation of spring boot and fails immediately. What I have to do to make build passes and test execute without any errors?

Make sure you have connection properties in the application.properties
For eg.
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost/database
spring.datasource.username=username
spring.datasource.password=password
spring.datasource.driver-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
I had a similar issue, but using Spring Initializr with the JPA module. What happens is that in the pom.xml generated there is no dependency declared for any embedded database. This makes the context loading process fail during the test phase.
To fix you can simply add the following dependency to your pom.xml:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hsqldb</groupId>
<artifactId>hsqldb</artifactId>
<scope>runtime</scope>
</dependency>
However I thought it would be nice to have such dependency by default, so I have opened a (trivial) issue at Spring:
https://jira.spring.io/browse/DATAJPA-1461
I hope I have submitted to the right board.
Writing configuration to have connection with database in application.yml helped me.
spring:
datasource:
driver-class-name: com.mysql.cj.jdbc.Driver
url: jdbc:mysql://localhost/database_name
password: password
username: username
