I have tried to edit and edit maven-compiler-plugin version to older one but that doesn't solve the problem
Also i have run on 3.3.9-jdk8 on mule with gitlab ci/cd. This is little older project and it was manually having changes applied on the server directly, so i wanted to integrate in gitlab so it will run good with automatic ci/cd
Thanks
The problem is in the Java code of the project as the error messages say. Fix those and it should comoile. It has nothing to do with Mule nor Maven. They are Java programming errors.
The project is certainly a mess, that's for sure. The Java files without packages or an incorrect directory, and the basic conversion errors are a good hint. The description of the Maven says it is a Mule 4.3 application but it is a Mule 3.8 project. And the names of the files don't even follow Java convention for classes. com.mess indeed.

I recently added spring cloud contract to our spring project following the instructions on their tutorial site here (https://cloud.spring.io/spring-cloud-contract/#quick-start).
I managed to write contracts, generate stubs and everything works as expected, but I have a problem when working with a clean project after pulling it off our repository. When I let mvn test run I get compilation errors in the generated test-class because it seems like the project itself didn't build before so the base-class for the contract tests on the producer site doesn't seem to exist yet.
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.1:testCompile (default-testCompile) on project kongo-shoppingcart-service: Compilation failure: Compilation failure:

But when I build the module by hand and run mvn test afterwords everything works as expected. Is there something wrong with the declaration of my POM?
For some reason your project can't see your base test class. It's not on the classpath. Are you sure you placed it in a proper folder? You'd have to show your folder structure. Also you can check out https://github.com/spring-cloud-samples/spring-cloud-contract-samples and do sth similar. BTW src/main/test looks really bad so most likely your project setup is wrong. I'd suggest keeping the contracts and the base classes under src/test/resources and src/test/java respectively
I am working on a java webapplication in Netbeans8.0 IDE, apache-tomcat server.
I have three projects one of which has the parent pom.xml and the other two have their own POM.xml
This application has legacy code and in the runtime it references the ojdbc6 jars from the server lib. Now the management wants us to move all the dependency jars to the war's Web-Inf/lib
We have the jars downloaded in our local folder of the application, but for some reason, it is not getting referenced from the Web-INF when I moved them to the pom.xml, I thought that I may be wrong with the group and artifactID. So I am directly referring it from codeIds maven repository, Now I have two issues
1. I see this jar in the Web-Inf only if I build with dependency
2. after seeing it in the Web-Inf, when I debug or run it I am getting ojdbc-driver exception in the runtime.
But when I move the same jar to server/lib it works fine.
I spent almost this whole week to resolve this issue with the help of many documents from the internet but no luck.

Just downloading a jar and putting it to the project folder is not the "maven way"...
If you want to use a library which is not in the central repo you have either to put it in your local repo or use another remote repo.
If I understood correctly you have choosen to use the code.lds.org repo.
What I can't see in your pom is the (real) dependency. There is only the dependency management for the ojdbc6.
You have to add this to you <dependencies> section and run mvn package (or in Netbeans build) and the ojdbc6 jar should be packaged into the war.
<dependency>
<groupId>com.oracle</groupId>
<artifactId>ojdbc6</artifactId>
</dependency>
(Version is skipped here, because it is already defined in the <dependencyManagement>; <type>jar</type> is not needed because its the default...)
You could also look at this question, maybe there are some more/other informations: Oracle JDBC ojdbc6 Jar as a Maven Dependency
When I try to maven build I get the following error into my project. I'm using eclipse, maven and liferay:
[INFO] Scanning for projects...
[ERROR] [ERROR] Some problems were encountered while processing the POMs:

[ERROR] 'build.plugins.plugin.version' for com.liferay.maven.plugins:liferay-maven-plugin must be a valid version but is '${liferay.maven.plugin.version}'. # line 16, column 14
After building my project in eclipse with maven. Am I wrong writing the liferay version? Here is the POM, please help me!

How can I avoid the error above?
If you want to pass version as the property you have to define them:
<properties>
<liferay.version>your_liferay_version</liferay.version>
<liferay.maven.plugin.version>your_maven_plugin_version</liferay.maven.plugin.version>
</properties>
You configured the versions in a profile.
If you don't need profiles, dont use any, and configure the resources globally (for your pom) in
<project><properties><liferay.version>....</liferay.version>
if you want to use profiles, you can read :
http://maven.apache.org/guides/introduction/introduction-to-profiles.html
I am building up a baseline JHipster project with no bells and whistles involved (no clustering, etc.).
I am following the exact tutorial steps using my standard Node-enabled (of course) command line, and am then importing the project into Eclipse as a Maven Project. Everything looks like it should be working fine based on reviewing the project, except when I try to run it on the server or build it using the mvn command line...

POM/Maven
From what I can tell, this may be a POM dependency error, but if so then I am having a heck of a time figuring out which. My project is directly configured to use JRE 1.7. My POM is below. Another thought is that it is directly related to the original NPM install from Hipster (after POM):

NPM
Looking at what is being responded by NPM at initial JHipster generation, I am actually seeing errors in those logs as well, noted below. Does anyone have any background on this?
2400 verbose etag pad-stdio from cache
2401 error Error: No compatible version found: findup-sync#'^0.1.2'
2401 error Valid install targets:
2401 error ["0.1.0","0.1.1","0.1.2","0.1.3"]
2401 error at installTargetsError (C:\ProgramFiles\nodejs\node_modules\npm\lib\cache.js:719:10)
2401 error at C:\Program Files\nodejs\node_modules\npm\lib\cache.js:638:10
2401 error at saved (C:\Program Files\nodejs\node_modules\npm\node_modules\npm-registry-client\lib\get.js:142:7)
Even with this error, I was able to manually include findup-sync with a direct npm install findup-sync#0.1.2, but this did not resolve my error with the Tomcat instance.
Back to Maven/POM
It must be something else specifically to do with com.sun:tools.jar... Looking through my POM, but if anyone has experienced this before with JHipster, please give me a shout.
Thank you for the help!
There were 3 issues here:
My Eclipse configuration was pointing to a JRE rather than a JDK (which contained the right com.sun:tools jar). In order to make the correct updates, however, it wasn't as simple as updating my JAVA_HOME variable and moving on... See steps 1-5 below.
The StackOverflow article describing this is noted here: Maven 3 Artifact problem
My application-dev.yml properties file was not pointing to a generated database. Eclipse was simply having trouble generating the connection pool, and rather than throwing a descriptive error, would bomb out instead. See step 8 below.
My project was a spring-boot project and therefore wasn't able to be executed on the general Tomcat Server in Eclipse. See step 9 below.
Summary of Resolution
Change %JAVA_HOME% to JDK
Update eclipse.ini with the following lines:
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin\
Update Eclipse preferences : 'Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs' > delete and add new JDK
Update project properties : 'Project > Properties > Java Build Path' > delete old JRE and add new JDK
Close all open command prompts and active servers (that might be caching what %JAVA_HOME% was... I spent an hour before I realized this)
mvn clean package
Tell SureFire to be skipped during build in POM
Make sure to update your application-dev.yml file to point to a real database (executing in Eclipse just shows that there was an exception of memory loss, but running mvn spring-boot:run will give you better error reporting).
If it is a spring-boot application, run it as a spring-boot application, not directly on the Tomcat Server in Eclipse. I haven't yet researched why this is such a pain, but I'll come back to that later. Please add detail in the comments if you know.
< skip>true< /skip> ...minus the extra spaces
The problem with running things in Eclipse first rather than Maven - the error logging is terribly misleading!
