install4j fails to access JRE on remote service - java

Executing the installation program for a 64-bit Windows client, I'm confronted with a failure when a required JRE is missing and I choose to let it download the JRE from a remote service (which the client, when installed, will communicate with).
My install4j version is 7.0.12 (build 7368).
The install program is configured to bundle with the JRE labelled "Windows (amd64) 12.0.1".
I selected "Dynamic bundle" and an HTTP download from "${compiler:sys.publisherUrl}/jres/windows-amd64-12.0.1.tar.gz".
At the end of the build process, install4j tells me to
make sure that the file
C:\Users\ME.install4j7\jres\windows-amd64-12.0.1.tar.gz can be
downloaded from
https://www.NN.de/jres/windows-amd64-12.0.1.tar.gz
I followed this instruction and to confirm that I did it correctly, I entered https://www.NN.de/jres/windows-amd64-12.0.1.tar.gz in a browser and found that I could download the archive successfully.
When I run the installer, it doesn't find a suitable JRE, offers to download the JRE and tries to get it, but its attempts aren't successful: after a while it times out and then shows an error dialog, informing me about a problem and asking me to check my internet connection and try again. It also points me to a log file, which says
[0:368] Searching for a JVM
(...)
[0:393] Search sequence finished
[0:394] ERROR: No JVM found
[0:395] Download location: https://www.NN.de/jres/windows-amd64-12.0.1.tar.gz
[7:325] Downloading JRE
[7:536] ERROR: HttpQueryInfo (try 1) failed with error code 12150
(...)
[15:805] ERROR: HttpQueryInfo (try 20) failed with error code 12150
[16:255] ERROR: Giving up
My questions are obvious:
What can cause this error? What does "error code 12150" mean? Can a firewall be blocking the request?
What can I do?

Update downloader with silent Version check -> Error opening media file

We use the install4j "Update downloader with silent Version check" to periodically update our application installer.
With the introduction of the "Update downloader with silent Version check", we have noticed two problems from the Users.
Error opening media file as can be seen in the screenshot. The Media file is the file that is downloaded in the 1st Step of the updater. Screenshot below
The error log file mentions
[0:918] extracting files
[0:932] Included files: 16
[3:537] ERROR: Could not open FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF 32 C:\Users\ttttttttt\Downloads\xxxxxxxxxx_7_xxxx_yy_zz_64Bit.exe
[128:104] emptying C:\Users\ttttttttt\AppData\Local\Temp\e4j8A6C.tmp_dir1662356615
The Users have not opened the downloaded file. Normally clickin on OK and a retry generally works.
The second problem some users are facing
[![enter image description here][2]][2]
The 2nd error mentions that the bgupdater.exe is already running. Even here, clicking on "Wiederholen" generally works and the update proceeds.
What we do not understand is that why these errors arise. A retry proceeds without errors in all cases normally.
The application uses install4j version 8 and java 1.8
[2]: https://i.stack.imgur.com/jVl3I.png
The first problem looks like anti-virus software problem where the anti-virus software detects a .exe file that is extracted to the %TEMP% directory and immediately quarantines it.
For the second problem, please locate the log file of the running bgupdater process which is located in the %TEMP% directory. Either you start the bgupdater process too frequently or it is hanging somewhere, you would need to find that out. To install a new version, all executables of the installation must be closed.

Jenkins "Failed to install JDK" Exit code=-1

(Adding this here as I did not find an answer anywhere)
I configured Jenkins to automatically install JDK from the "Global Tools Configuration" > "JDK Installation" menu. The option works across all 14 nodes (various Windows and Linux) but one.
A server Windows Server 2012 R2 (amd64) with 20 executors, which has been running without issue for just under 3 years.
The log file references in the build's console (i.e. ...tools\hudson.model.JDK\install1873722508778839961log) is empty.
The build's console shows the following:

I logged onto the server as a local admin and attempted to run the JDK installation line shown in the build console:
E:\Jenkins_APA_8080\tools\hudson.model.JDK\Oracle_Java_8.0_191\jdk.exe
/s ADDLOCAL="ToolsFeature" REBOOT=ReallySuppress
INSTALLDIR=E:\Jenkins_APA_8080\tools\hudson.model.JDK\Oracle_Java_8.0_191
/L E:\Jenkins_APA_8080\tools\hudson.model.JDK
The installation seemed to run and this time the log file contained text. I double checked the owner and permissions on the Jenkins folders and they were owned by a local admin and not a domain admin (this is normal for our Jenkins installation).
However, the login credentials of the Jenkins service on this machine were set to a domain admin (not local admin).
Changing the Jenkins Services Log On credentials resolved the issue. Even though this node has been running for over a couple years without issue, its credentials were not correct.

I want to install Eclipse, but Eclipse is throwing an exception.

Are just zip files, you should really need to "install" anything, you can just make a folder say on your C drive, call it "Apps" unzip Eclipse in there, run eclipse.exe and make sure you select a workspace are that wouldnt require admin rights

Jmeter error trying to record a sample java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Failed marshalling

I have one Linux VPS dedicated just for running a jmeter. The tests run fine, but failed requests are not written to error.jtl with SimpleDataWriter. Java error is written to jmeter.log instead.
I run the tests in non-gui mode:
jmeter -n -t om5.jmx -j results-tmp1/t3-l1-jmeter.log

I cannot find what is wrong. It is only that one machine, that gives me this error. Everywhere else I try it, it works correctly.
The OS is Debian Jessie (8.5) - minimal from official repositories. I tried many different versions of java (1.7, 1.8) - currently running on the latest 1.8 (1.8.0_92-b14) and I have the latest apache-jmeter 3.0 r1743807, but previously I used 2.13 r1665067. I don't use any third-party plugins.
I didn't notice exactly when it stopped working, what change was done (some os update, maybe some change in jmx), but I have my tests in git, so I checked out older version from the date of my last full error.jtl and it is not writing the errors to jtl as well.
I reinstalled the Debian to Ubuntu 16.04 and nothing changed.
I don't know how to debug that problem, what should I do, because on any other machine I have an access to, it works fine.
I don't know if you've fixed this problem until now?
I had the same issue, and I fixed it just now.
I guess in your jmeter script, you checked the hostname to record sample result, in jmeter.log, you could find such message: jmeter couldn't get the linux Local IP, so hostname is Null, exception threw out.
So what you need to do is remove 'Save Hostname' from 'Sample Result Save Configuration' tab.

Unable to start server in Eclipse Gallileo IDE with WAS7

Server not starting in Eclipse Gallileo IDE with WAS7.
I run the server from outside of Eclipse but I want to start it from within the eclipse
Below are the details of my Workspace configurations :
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
WAS 7.0
An alert is coming saying "Cannot connect to VM socket closed".
I got the following exception in console :
JVMSHRC154E Escape character g not valid for cache name
<JIT: FullSpeedDebug: ignoring countString>
<JIT: FullSpeedDebug: ignoring countString>
JVMJ9VM015W Initialization error for library j9shr24(13): JVMJ9VM009E J9VMDllMain failed
Per the JVMSHRC154E, it appears that somehow -Xshareclasses:name=...%g... is being added to your server JVM command line. I do not know why there would be a difference between Eclipse and the command-line (perhaps a product issue that should be reported to IBM), but you could try working around the issue by adding -Xshareclasses:nonfatal to your server's generic JVM arguments.
IBM has released development tools for WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
You can download it from eclipse market place.
There are tools for the WAS7 and up. (IBM Information page)
You probably need WAS 7 Tools - marketplace page.
The short instruction is:
In the eclipse click Help->Eclipse Market Place->Search WebSphere Application Server Tools.
Inside eclipse installation folder go to \plugins.....\cdcla\eclipse\launch\simple.
Open the file websphere70.properties.
You will see the following content and remove the
"_%g"
part and save it
shareclasses=webspherev70_%g,groupAccess,nonfatal
